Build an Awesome Misting Machine in 15 Minutes
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
It's still hot out there! So here is how to build your own simple backyard misting system for cheap. The process is fairly straight forward and you will find full directions and parts list below.
Instructions and Shopping List (below):
You can purchase these at your hardware store or buy online:
1. 1/2-Inch Mist Nozzle Splitters - amzn.to/1KtrKoK
2. 1/2-Inch PVC pipe cut to your needed length - Hardware Store
3. 1/2-Inch PVC Pipe Elbow - amzn.to/1Mf1a21
4. 1/2-Inch PVC End Cap - Hardware Store
5. 1/2-Inch PVC Hose Connector - amzn.to/1iku5Yc
6. PVC Cement + Primer - amzn.to/1Ktx4IR (This is a larger bottle and a bit more money)
Instructions:
1. Measure out the exact length you wish to cover with your misting system and purchase the PVC pipe. You will usually have some left over since they come in 10 foot pieces. Some hardware stores will cut them on the spot for you so you can transport them in your car.
2. Buy the amount of nozzles you need. For a 10 foot long pice you will need four nozzles, placed every 2-feet.
3. Purchase elbows if you plan on attaching pipe at different angles. However, you could simply do one 10 foot pipe (with nozzles), attach and end cap and water hose attachment to the end of that if you want to keep it super simple.
4. Assemble all your parts with PVC cement and place them in the area you wish them to be mounted.
5. Attach the hose connector after everything is in place.
6. While drying: Screw in the water nozzles and mount pipe with zip ties.
7. Screw in the water hose and fire it up.
8. Enjoy!

A simple piece of advice you should add to your instructions, dry fit all the pieces together and turn on the water to do a test run before you glue all the elbows and couplings together. That way you can make sure all the elbows and mist heads are positioned at the angles you want them at, and if not you can make adjustments to your preference *before* everything is glued into place. Also, wouldn't it be better to use smaller diameter PVC so less water and pressure are needed?
I'm glad you spent time showing us how to glue and bearly talking about the brass spraying nozzles
Folks in the Southern Hemisphere will surely appreciate this timely video.

+Hendlton if you run through it yeah, but the point of misting machines is that air blows through the cold water and cools the air down, assuming its not overly windy out it would likely cool you down very much

My phone can literally be dropped into a lake and it'll be fine, yours, not so much.
Love it. They used special connectors for the misting pieces, but someone else used a special bit to drill into regular pvc.
I installed one of these inside my head, and now my brain is 30% cooler!
Thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you, thank you! I've watched a few about making a misting fan. No audio other than music and no drop down description of parts! They were using pumps and such too!

You should use threaded connectors so you can take it apart in the winter.
This is awesome. I could make a few tweaks to this idea, and have our very own outdoor splash/ spray pad just like we've always wanted !!
I'd just puncture holes in my hose...or buy a sprinkler. :)

I love how quickly we zipped over the single most important thing (not to mention the trickiest) to make this work....drilling & tapping the pvc for the misting nozzles. hahaha

EXACTLY! was thinking that the whole time, wondering when they'd get to the "easy" hole drilling segment. Also a few too little detail on the nozzles. Which type, size, what does (at least i wonder) reversing the nozzles mean? Sometimes someone will just toss out an expression or loose verbage that they know what they mean, but unless everyone does, it's not that helpful. Also, as they fit and glued and zip tied the pipe to the flimsy pop up I couldn't help but think "don't you want to keep it portable? Take it down in the winter? Oh well.

Very informative......how do you put the misting nozzels in the tube? How do you make the hole in the tube How do you create the threading in the tube? Is there an already made pipe section that you can buy to fit the nozzels?

That might come in handy. Next year...
Those pop-up shade covers are for temporary use, and not made for summer-long backyard use.
I wish that would help us here in New Orleans. But it's already so humid that this wouldn't do us any good unless it ran through a coolant system as even hose water is bath water warm or hotter. But it's a great idea for dry places.
Finally a new vid it's been sooooooooooooooooo long
Do you make a hole for the brass sprayer nozzles?
Totally do this if you don't have a pool!
Get Pipes, join them and misting gets, then install a pump and you voila magic ! your misting machine is ready !
Sweet! Now I just need a gazebo :p
This video made people in the drought salty
You didn’t teach how to set up the brass spring nozzles. Do we need to make holes? Which tool we use for that?
Did you explain what size and type of nozzles we should use? FFS
This is common in Arizona...almost year-round
I noticed a slight problem. I live in california and the water evaporated before it touched me.
@SpMoose
8 жыл бұрын
That's a good thing, the process of the water evaporating will cool the area you're in. That's how evaporative coolers work.
@youresoakinginit2113
5 жыл бұрын
Would it work to put the thing on the ground, against the house, rather than just inside the gazebo? That way the mist would rise from the floor, rather than start rising at the eaves (of gazebo or house). If you put it on the ground inside the perimeter of the gazebo, people would constantly be tripping over it; NO MARGARITAS!!! But at least the mist would be where the peoples are.
@PHanomaly
4 жыл бұрын
@@youresoakinginit2113 you want it high because it's the air circulating above people that it cools and that disperses (and drys) the mist as it comes down. If you put it on the ground, you will get mostly wet, without the cooling effect. *It needs the height because gravity is assumed and used in the cooling process.
This was a very needed hack...... back in June.... But still cool!!
where are the fittings for the misters are they in the hardware box stores or plumbing supplies
And you have to make this when it's almost fall and not in June when it was hot everyday😂😂😂
Cool vid bro. Thanks for sharing this with us; Jesus Christ Bless! :)
what is the psi needed to run this and still get mist
Wait, how is the video 2:57 minutes long if it takes 15 minutes to make? MAGIC
