Build an Awesome Misting Machine in 15 Minutes

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

It's still hot out there! So here is how to build your own simple backyard misting system for cheap. The process is fairly straight forward and you will find full directions and parts list below.
Instructions and Shopping List (below):
You can purchase these at your hardware store or buy online:
1. 1/2-Inch Mist Nozzle Splitters - amzn.to/1KtrKoK
2. 1/2-Inch PVC pipe cut to your needed length - Hardware Store
3. 1/2-Inch PVC Pipe Elbow - amzn.to/1Mf1a21
4. 1/2-Inch PVC End Cap - Hardware Store
5. 1/2-Inch PVC Hose Connector - amzn.to/1iku5Yc
6. PVC Cement + Primer - amzn.to/1Ktx4IR (This is a larger bottle and a bit more money)
Instructions:
1. Measure out the exact length you wish to cover with your misting system and purchase the PVC pipe. You will usually have some left over since they come in 10 foot pieces. Some hardware stores will cut them on the spot for you so you can transport them in your car.
2. Buy the amount of nozzles you need. For a 10 foot long pice you will need four nozzles, placed every 2-feet.
3. Purchase elbows if you plan on attaching pipe at different angles. However, you could simply do one 10 foot pipe (with nozzles), attach and end cap and water hose attachment to the end of that if you want to keep it super simple.
4. Assemble all your parts with PVC cement and place them in the area you wish them to be mounted.
5. Attach the hose connector after everything is in place.
6. While drying: Screw in the water nozzles and mount pipe with zip ties.
7. Screw in the water hose and fire it up.
8. Enjoy!

If you got this far, thanks!

A simple piece of advice you should add to your instructions, dry fit all the pieces together and turn on the water to do a test run before you glue all the elbows and couplings together. That way you can make sure all the elbows and mist heads are positioned at the angles you want them at, and if not you can make adjustments to your preference *before* everything is glued into place. Also, wouldn't it be better to use smaller diameter PVC so less water and pressure are needed?

EXACTLY! was thinking that the whole time, wondering when they'd get to the "easy" hole drilling segment. Also a few too little detail on the nozzles. Which type, size, what does (at least i wonder) reversing the nozzles mean? Sometimes someone will just toss out an expression or loose verbage that they know what they mean, but unless everyone does, it's not that helpful. Also, as they fit and glued and zip tied the pipe to the flimsy pop up I couldn't help but think "don't you want to keep it portable? Take it down in the winter? Oh well.

Would it work to put the thing on the ground, against the house, rather than just inside the gazebo? That way the mist would rise from the floor, rather than start rising at the eaves (of gazebo or house). If you put it on the ground inside the perimeter of the gazebo, people would constantly be tripping over it; NO MARGARITAS!!! But at least the mist would be where the peoples are.

  • @PHanomaly

    @PHanomaly

    4 жыл бұрын

@@youresoakinginit2113 you want it high because it's the air circulating above people that it cools and that disperses (and drys) the mist as it comes down. If you put it on the ground, you will get mostly wet, without the cooling effect. *It needs the height because gravity is assumed and used in the cooling process.
