Build A Stronger Body For Everyday Life
Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль
If you want to improve at running, don’t just do squats and lunges. Go outside and run. If you want to get better at going to the ground and standing back up, don’t do some random exercise. Do exactly that movement. Oftentimes, people are doing exercises to strengthen their body thinking that if their body was stronger, they would be able to do certain everyday movements better. While strengthening our body in general helps with all movements, there is nothing faster in improving your strength in a movement by doing that specific movement itself over and over again.
The same thing is also true for somebody who wants to improve at a certain exercise. People used to ask me, what exercises should I do to increase my strength in bench press? I would tell them, “do more bench press. “
Get in the best shape of your life
And become 1% happier each day

This common sense approach would transform the fitness industry if people were wise enough to apply it. Results would increase and injuries would decrease.
Makes 100% sense...🤜🏻💥🤛🏻
That floor thing is exactly what I need to do. Thank you
100%, this is what I've been realizing a lot lately. I'm starting to garden and want to homestead/farm, and I realize how much work and strength it takes to lift a lot of things. 5 gallons buckets full of fertilizer can weigh over 50lbs easily. I've been thinking how workouts in the gym are just random exercises, and don't really reflect our daily lives, and in reality, actually impact it, because many people get "too big" and cannot even reach around their backs, or have proper mobility.
Fitness is task specific ~some smart guy
Thank you Mike, often many many many people take things very complicated ❤️👊🙏

Just had my aha moment. Thank you. ❤
Well said. What I'm about to say has zero merit because I'm not super fit myself and don't really work out but I've always felt this way about exercise. People are out there doing these odd exercises clearly to build a certain appearance rather than prioritizing actual practical exercises and muscles. Like yeah, you have a big chest but how often are you laying on a flat bench and pushing a bar straight up and down in your day to day life? Probably almost never for most people. And I'm not shaming working out and prioritizing a certain appearance because obviously any amount of exercise is better than none. That's one reason I want to get into bouldering/rock climbing. it's a very fun activity but also a full body workout that ALSO builds a practical skill- climbing. I mean everyone could benefit at least a little from being able to climb things better, right? How useful is it to know how to use a workout machine that has zero day to day real life application? Anyways...

@@CarlosSantana-we6ts i like being outdoors and hiking and doing fun stuff so quite often i suppose. either way it’s more practical than pushing a bar straight up and down lol. and in general it gives you better balance and hand eye coordination as well
Shifting the focus to specific movements is a great shift in approach. As a senior , I’m not going to just hop upon a ladder just because I want to or just go run because I got the urge. Small steps to achieve the end goal makes more sense. I do like your suggestion for practicing getting up off the floor.

@MikeChangTraining I hurt my ankle because I was trying to sprint with my 20 kg overweight body and have hurt my Achilles tendon. I have done everything. The stiffness and pain is still there after almost 6 months. Any advice for me please. Thank you 😊
This is why im an expert at lying in bed all day - i practice this art daily and now im a pro.
At some point I've realized that if you want to be healthy and fit look at the farmers, not fitness trainers 😂

exercise is not limited to the gym, our entire environment is a massive gym, that's very true
This! Exactly this! I never understood what the point in going to the gym to do all those workouts is. I mean yeah, you get fit and lean, but as soon as you stop doing those workouts in the gym, you will lose your muscle growth. Especially squats, like... for what? The gym is mostly just for the looks. So he is right. Because it's about being able to move freely. The looking good part comes by itself because the healthier you are, the better you look, the more attractive you get (:

it is also an incredible feeling to workout but workout is not limited to the gym, life is our biggest playground/gym and being active shouldn't be limited to 1h every day couple of times a week.
Want to get better at looking great at the beach....... practice going to the beach 😊

Love your videos! Are there any movements we do each day that workout the belly and abdominal, is it walking a steep hill? Because when I walked steep hills daily I notice I had a flatter belly.
@Miss.Pennyfeather

The other day I read that just walking actually DOES train the belly. So I guess you were doing everything right (:

i enjoy working out actually it is just not a priority of mine as i made sure to be active all along the day regardless of the environment i am in and that's the goal to be active all day long to keep the energy moving and being as healthy as possible

I was asked what exercises should you do to get better at running hills. Of course, I said just run hills. It's a bit odd to me that people have this desire to overcomplicate life.

are there any Shortcuts to these? 😂
@MikeChangTraining

practicing a little bit every day is the shortcut no miracle recipe, you got this
what? no. barbell squats aren't a "random exercise." they're a one-way trip to bigger and stronger glutes and quads. i'm literally not in the gym training to walk up and down the stairs as efficiently as possible. i've never heard anyone say that. this is silly. this isn't exercise. this is conditioning

Stupid advice
For practical pushing strength...push trees or wall for 60 second or more and see how easily pushing strength increases like pushing an object or a person becomes easy...sure it wont build up huge chest but it will help practically
