Beautiful, Samhain! Will these somehow be incorporated into your Halloween display? Are you going to wear a pirate costume?!

I am honestly not sure Fraidy! I wanted to build these as a decoration element before needing them so if I do have an idea they are there and ready. I would kill to build a 20-30ft pirate ship on my lawn if I could find the budget to do so and then all these props would have their perfect home. One day I will 😀

French flints were amber/honey coloured. But English and most other flints were black flints. With a few grey here and there.

Amazing work! Just when I think your weathering/aging is perfect, you add another layer which brings it up to the next level of realism.

Thanks so much Cindy! I find that there is so much wiggle room when aging/weathering that it really is one of those things where just have fun with it! Thanks for watching!

Hey ASM! The good news, if you add them to your store account they will stick around until you get around to downloading them. The templates and STL files are never going away, but they will increase to the normal price in a month. This is a thanks to those who watch my content and enjoy when I release new tutorials :). I am currently working on the rifle and by far it's the hardest and largest of the bunch. Look forward to sharing it next week :)

@@SamhainPropworks can't wait to see it. I did make a rifle out of blue foam a few years back. I was fortunate enough to get my hands on a real 18th century flintlock rifle to make a paper template. Sadly the template is gone now.

I used a real blunderbuss to create the first one. The pistols, while based on a real flintlock do have more artistic license used and the rifle will be made on the basis of the first two to make them a cohesive branded set :)

Another excellent build and video (I’ve watched it 4 times so far already 😊). I love the fact you did different handings on the firing mechanisms to make a matching pair. So glad I found your channel, and so generous of you to provide all the templates. I’ve joined your Patreon as a way to say thank you. Can’t wait to see what you do with the rifles.

I don't have a printer myself but have a friend who does and said he could print the parts for me but wants to know how many actual pieces and the approximate print time for all the parts. I need this answered before I buy your print files.

Hey Samhain! Great work! I’m new here and am blown away with your work, you have a skilled hand. Quick question, for the flintlock pistol files, it’s pulling up the rifle files when I look at them on your website. Any ideas? Are the pistol files still available? I’m considering doing a couple pistols. Edit: I just went to your website and found the files. Cheers from the old pirate capital of the world, south Florida.

Hey Bowbowjang, looks like you managed to find the files you were looking for. The combination of all three of these props really look good together and I am happy I decided to make the stocks out of wood as they really really get a nice finish without too much work. Glad you enjoy the videos and thanks for watching!

@@SamhainPropworks I purchased 5 plastic flintlock pistol from a costume store. I was planning on replacing the handle with a wood grip like what you made. I was going to use the “metal parts” which are plastic and attach to the wood grip.
