Build a Big Chest with Bands (NO WEIGHTS!)

Тәжірибелік нұсқаулар және стиль

If you want to build a big chest with bands and did not think it was possible, then this is the video for you. Here, I’m going to show you the best ways to build a bigger chest using just resistance bands and no weights. In times of gym closures and an increase in the number of people doing home chest workouts, having a resource for the best band exercises for chest is going to help you to meet your goals without having to compromise.

All of these chest exercises can be done with one to two sets of resistance bands. It is a good idea to have varying resistance levels of them so you can introduce more exercises.
The first one shown is called the banded saw. Here the focus of the chest exercise is to get adduction of the arm across midline. You want to be sure you lock your elbow in place at ninety degrees and drive your first across your body. The chest should reach full contraction as you get maximal adduction at the end of every rep. Be sure to work both sides and aim to complete your sets until failure to ensure overload.
The next chest exercise with bands is the crossover pushup. This takes a popular home chest exercise and makes it even better due to the inclusion of adduction resistance once again. Holding the resistance band in one hand you will go down into a pushup and then as you come up, reach it across your body stretching out the band and increasing the tension on the chest. Be sure to perform reps with each arm acting against the tension of the band.
No list of the best band exercises for chest could be complete without including the banded pushup. Here you simple wrap the band around your back and drive up off the floor against the resistance of it. The key here however is to make sure you’re doing your reps fast. Speed reps and training explosively with bands is one of the best ways to tap into the growth capable type 2 muscle fibers.
You can also do this using a standard bench press. Wrap the band underneath the band and press your hands up as if you were using dumbbells but make sure to do so with speed.
The standing band press is a great chest exercise using bands. The best way to do it however is to make sure you flare your elbows out so you can introduce resistance into adduction. If the elbows stay tucked to your sides you wind up just pressing the hands straight out with no complete chest contraction. By forcing the bands outward as they wrap around the upper arm, you now get resistance as you cross your hands in front of your chest increasing the effectiveness of the move.
The upper chest can also be worked great with bands. The upper chest pullover is a great banded chest exercise that will build the area of the pecs near the collar bone. Make sure to squeeze the backs of the hands together as you bring your arms from a position overhead toward your waistline.
The prone punch outs are another amazing way to simulate an incline bench press with bands without needing to have the equipment. You can build a bigger upper chest with bands by using heavy enough resistance bands to perform this amazing exercise.
Dips can be performed either assisted or resisted depending on your current strength levels and how you align the bands during the exercise.
Finally, the Cavaliere crossover is a great exercise that can help you to really feel that tight chest contraction by resisting the movement of the hands across midline once again.
If you are looking to get a bigger chest with bands then you don’t want to miss this video. Quick question on cross over push ups, my OCD wouldnt allow me to do this without switching sides to also do the other arm in the band. Then essentially do 10 left arm band rest 10 right arm band repeat for 40 total back and forth twice. Redundant or "what ever feels right, do it" kind of thing?

Thank you for the videos on how to properly use the bands, I’ve been watching your series for years and they have been absolutely instrumental in helping me not only get back into shape but get into better shape than ever before. I’ve struggled for years with finding a routine that was both effective and actually made feel the burn properly afterwards. I also have issues with my shoulders, years of accumulated injury’s to both of my shoulders from working with heavy equipment on the job and bad form and techniques have taken a toll on them. I’m currently recovering from another shoulder injury that I suffered while at work, I’m close to fully recovering though and your resistance band series has proven extremely helpful. I’ve used bands in the past but after watching your series I didn’t realize how many ways you could apply them, they have turned into a new staple tool in my training regime. I travel for my job and I’m on the road almost 90% of the year, these bands and your videos have really saved my sanity. I’m going to be 45 this year and I can feel the years, the bands combined with my kettlebells have given me a lot of new opportunities to train effectively and not sacrifice any of my progress. Thank you for all you have done and please continue with the videos, maybe if you get the chance you can put together a short series on kettlebells. That would be extremely helpful too. Thank you once again.

Here’s the thing. kzread.infoUgkxS7ex6L4sMqpaTn4LnBPyBmRQsSingL8y These are not meant to be stretched to 12ft or 14ft or whatever else where you’re a 6ft person, stepping in the band and trying to do standing shoulder presses. If they tear, (assuming they’re not defective) then you’re trying to stretch them way too far. For a full body stretch, bands should be like three feet long, doubled over. Don’t buy the bad press. A fully extended reverse fly is avoid as far as you should stretch these. If it’s too easy, use more than one band at a time. Not rocket science.

The bands Jeff is using are 41 inches in length, and then if you triple them, that's 123 inches, and remember, they loop, so overall circumference will be around 20 feet. If someone is 6 feet tall, hands pressed up would make them slightly over 7 feet tall, add in 2 feet gap in between the feet and the hands, and that becomes 7+7+2+2 = 18 feet. Still under 20 feet max 3x stretch of the band.

Are you saved? If not, "REPENT YE, AND BELIEVE THE GOSPEL." THE GOSPEL (which means the Good News) is the news that God Almighty, the Creator came in the flesh as Jesus Christ to take away the sin of the world. He gave up his own life to save ours. His sacrifice on the cross paid the price for our redemption with his own blood. On the third day he rose from dead and offers the gift of salvation and forgiveness to those that repent and trust in him. John 1:1,14 KJV In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and THE WORD WAS GOD. [14] And THE WORD WAS MADE FLESH, and dwelt among us, Isaiah 9:6 KJV For unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given: and the government shall be upon his shoulder: and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counsellor, The mighty GOD, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace. John 1:10 KJV He was in the world, and the world was made by him, and THE WORLD KNEW HIM NOT. John 20:28-29 KJV And Thomas answered and said unto him, MY LORD AND MY GOD. [29] Jesus saith unto him, Thomas, because thou hast seen me, thou hast believed: blessed are they that have not seen, and yet have believed. Are you saved friend? If you died tonight will you go to heaven or hell? Acts 16:30-31 KJV ...what must I do to be saved? And they said, Believe on the Lord Jesus Christ, and thou shalt be saved, and thy house. 1 John 1:8-10 KJV If we say that we have no sin, we deceive ourselves, and the truth is not in us. [9] If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. [10] If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us. Luke 24:47 KJV And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem. Door handle might work. If you need it low, slipping the band under the door with a sturdy cylindrical item (like a dumbbell or a chair sitting back to back by the door with the band grabbing both of the chair's legs. Add heavy things on the seat to prevent the band from slipping under the chair) on the other side of the door to prevent the band from slipping back out. Keep the door closed. This depends how thick the band is, but chances are you should be able to slip them under. Or you can make your own anchor.

I'm working out in the range of every other to two out of three days and an hour each and it's seriously taxing on my willpower to keep it up. I absolutely respect people who can do so much more.
