    YoshiP actually mentioned Blood Weapon being a stack in live letter. He said one of DRK skill is gonna get a stack-system. It just wasn't translated

    No longer comboing on confiteor just means that when req ends you can still do the blade combo even if you missed confiteor. Its for if you miss confiteor because the boss goes untargetable or something during the last part of the req combo. Essentially no mater what causes req to end you can do the blade combo

    @@OhNoTheFace Melee? If Requiescat is already running you're not required to be in melee (though if you're able to be you should be to build meter via auto attacks). Generally once you're in "Magic Phase" as a PLD you're a fully mobile ranged caster.

    Its basically fat finger/timing insurance to make sure a missed Confiteor doesn't wreck your DPS as hard on PLD (which already is the lowest DPS tank). Not a major thing but just a QoL for the average PLD player.

    Sometimes when I’m tired I just spammed the ice AoE skill and got locked out of the blade combo. This is a nice change.

    The only weird thing for WHM now is that Aero 2 and Dia are the same spell, but Dia costs more MP.

    Probably unpopular opinion but after this I wish they just increased Aero II's MP cost to 400 and removed Dia, so WHM can use wind spells again. The job was more colorful with elemental spells, and Aero in particular was a nice throwback to Final Fantasy III's white mage/white wizard which had the Aero spells.

    The Dancer changes are pretty dope for deep dungeon. No Ability floors really suck when soloing

    Those floors are equally terrible on healers, or in my case Sage. My last 151-160 in PoTD run had FOUR no ability floors, massive time loss aside at least the "spam attack" went from 400 mp to 300 mp. I'll still bottom out on mp, but slower! Still a good dancer change though, used that more so in HoH and not Potd. Time was a big struggle at 81+ if luck was terrible.

    imo the issue IS with litany and chain stratagem, they should provide a smaller buff to crit chance and also provide a buff to crit damage as if you just temporarily have more crit stat There's always gonna be issues otherwise

    I noticed that when i switched to reaper, that their mobility is NOT tied to a resource. Makes me wonder why samurais is tied to the kenki gauge. Reapers pay no cost for mobility, I give up damage. Seems silly imo

    Removing Kaiten is one thing, but what I actually don't understand is why they haven't adjusted Tenka Goken's damage to compensate for removing Kaiten like they did with Higanbana and Midare. Higanbana got its DoT boosted by 50% (so it's just like a Kaiten version) and I expect Midare to also hit for similarly high numbers if its a guaranteed crit, but not only was Tenka Goken left unchanged, they also dropped down the Kaeshi Goken's damage. Sounds like a not so small nerf to SAM's AoE.

    We'll get to save Kenki for extra Kyutens but I don't think the math really works out. Tenka Goken should still get a small potency increase.

    From what Balance has been mathing out, we're looking at a 3% nerf to damage and some issues with crit comps. Also, DNC will be ignoring us now. The Kaeshi Goken nerf is the really annoying thing. We can somewhat make up for losing Kaiten on the first Goken by using an extra Kyuten (though it's a slight damage loss). We can't make up for the extra 140 potency loss on Kaeshi, though. So yeah, AoE was nerfed pretty bad there. It's possible they're expecting the buffs of Mangetsu and Oka to make up for it. It seems they want to kill our burst and instead focus on sustained dpsm

    @@KLGChaos I will say, after playing SAM a little. While the AoE rotation may be nerfed a little, it FEELS a lot better as you don’t have to hold kenki for Kaiten so you can just spin all the time. It does mean that you can no longer accidentally spend the kenki needed but… I think it’s alright. Just need to adjust the numbers a little to compensate for AoE.

    I'm so stoked about the DRK changes. The LD heal works out to about 4 GCDs to heal to full, so we'll pretty much always either clear WD ourselves or only need one small oGCD to clear it as long as a buster doesn't line up with a boss going untargetable or something. And the BW change lets us meld for something other than our ping (the Flood nerf is just offsetting the extra potency from having the back half of our AoE combo, they didn't touch Flood of Shadow so the potency change goes away at 74)

    Fully agree with your wildfire statement. I can’t barely see Wildfire when it finishes. Yes the numbers are high but I do wish it was stated as a crit or a BAM!

    Small clarification needed I think. The Ruby Rite et al skills all have a 2.8s cast, but used to have 2.5s recast, which made Swiftcast mandatory if you wanted to play optimally. This meant summoners wouldn't have Swiftcast available for rezes, unless they opted to not do their optimal rotation. The reason they made the recast 3s rather than 2.8s is probably to give summoners a little more of a window for slidecasting though, as you mentioned.

    From what I gather from Yoshi-P and his meeting with devs, I don't think summoner was meant to rez initially, but due to being part of scholar it has. I think it was like this. They wanted to consider remove rez, or add for black mage too, but they felt it was unnecessary. What I think they mean to say is, SMN not raising it is okay as it is not their role, but if able it is helpful.

    This explains why so many 6.x SMNs rarely rezz if at all anymore, same for RDM too geez. Like a healer dies in a dungeon and they'll just keep casting even after then tank eventually dies .____.

    @@HyouVizer when a Healer dies in a Dungeon that is usually the Problem of the Healer. You cant expect a SMN plays unoptimized and keep his Swiftcast for exact that Situation that a Healer dies. When i have Swiftcast ready sure then ill rezz the Healer but if not that is how much 8?? Seconds of not damaging? On lvl 90 all Tanks has enough tools to keep them alive at their own. As long as you dont screw on Mechanics healing is usually not really necessary in Dungeons.

    It sounds like they're making it similar to how Garuda's Slipstream is - it's worth using swiftcast on it during the opener/burst windows to make it fit, but it doesn't actually help otherwise. The extra recast time made the GCD after longer, so using swiftcast for it without needing to was only useful for the extra mobility. The same will now be the case with the Ifrit nukes, so unless swiftcast would allow you to fit it into a burst window, then that means you will normally have it available for either movement or a rez.

    Glad they decoupled the knockback etc. from the stacks of Inner Release. Sucked having to hold it just for the knockback resist.

    Dragoon change is nice cause with shorter high jump and the combined buttons you can now double weave it similar to Nastrond without clipping GCD. Making the weave windows on Dragoon less cluttered is a good thing in my book

    I really don't understand the kaiten change. It wasn't a culprit in the button bloat problem at all. Not to mention what this does to kenki management (ie removing it entirely). Very strange change.

    @Quatata Lala tried explaining this so much. Not to mention that certain Kinki related skills are just outside the grasp of casuals. Optimization can come down to converting Sen into Kinki just so your Midare lines up with key dps cool downs or hard dps checks for mechanics. There are rotations with certain skill speeds where you backstep and boss rush just to push a global back. Kaiten didn't add any real complexity to the class that wasn't previously there for the people who cared. I appreciate the people being honest about liking their sword spin but they are usually the people who don't realize they are losing dps from not applying the dot by using Meikyo

    I think having the blade combo proc when requiescat ends vs when you press confiteor is in case you do 5 holy spirits or otherwise miss confiteor, you can still do the blade combos. Before if your req timer expired before getting confiteor off, you also missed out on your blade combo. So you aren't penalized more for missing confiteor (besides missing out on all its damage). I'm curious though of the effect of blade ready goes away after you press another gcd, or if you can use it whenever to move those blade skills. Because technically when you proc the blade combo after pressing req now, you can already wait about 30 sec since it's just like normal combos that last awhile now. You just can't do other gcds between them or the combo will break.

    Because it’s a buff and not combo dependent, as long as the buff is up you can now hit BoF at any time, regardless of what other buttons you hit in the meantime.

    For the healer MP cost changes, I would imagine this is specifically to help with low-level MP management. The affected spells are all ones you pick up before getting things like Thin Air or Aetherflow, not to mention all the off-global healing options. Having more MP available to cast GCD heals, especially the expensive ones that WHM and SCH run on, is going to be an absolute blessing when all you've got for sustain is Lucid Dreaming.

    Low level CNJ ran oom in about 2-3 minutes just casting. Like, you had to just stop dpsing if you were doing a low level boss fate and healing someone else with cure 1s. One day they'll fix that healers are the only job capable of running out of basic resources just pressing "attack" (in non MMO FF terms) and balance healing accordingly, but sadly my dream of 300 mana dps spells in 6.1 is dead.

    The changes to lilies made me a happy WHM main ... You can cast misery every minute ... and now you want to go for misery even after using 1 lily gcd heal .. since now it become a DPS gain, even if you drop 3 glares ... while previously you would need 2 actual heals to for it to be DPS positive ... And since now you want to drop glares in favor of lillies, since misery is now DPS neutral ... you will be saving mana ... That and with now being able to use bell as a heal bomb actively is another positive change Lest see how much of a difference it makes

    Yeah WHM is definitly the Big Winner of the 6.1 Patchnotes. Still would prefer Lilies would be ogcd's with lesser Misery dmg but hey now i can happy live with DPS Neutral instead of DPS loss.

    Oh, for pitch perfect, you always have the option of putting minuet on both your minuet button and your old pitch perfect button. Good for muscle memory, bad for button bloat. I actually do that with fan dance 3 so that I can more easily hit it regardless of whether it procced from a ST or aoe.

    For the doton change its only a 80 potency difference so it was a slight nerf unfortunately but shouldnt matter anymore since its only gonna be used in dungeons from now on

    the changes to the lilies and afflatus misery will make it net positive for dps despite being net neutral for potency. with lilies charging in 20 seconds, you can guarantee a misery cast during every even and odd minute burst window, meaning you'll get whatever associated buffs your party comp has during those bursts in addition to the extra potency and increased number of casts per pull of the skill itself. So overall, more dps for white mages over the course of a fight.

    Oh Twelve, thank you. I hated playing Sage more than normal when healing a main DRK Tank. At least with SCH I could spam my aetherflow cures to try to save a Living Dead DRK but now at least he can help pull his butt out of the fire.

    As a DRK main, these patch notes made me very happy. I can take away a fair few of my skill speed materia now that Blood Weapon is stacks and Living Death isnt an "avoid until absolutely nessicary" button. if anything its worth casting on big pulls in dungeons just for the huge curing effect from AOE's. Its no blood letting, but closest they'll get to it. And all for the low low cost of 30 potency off one of my ranged attacks? I'll take that.

    What is that skeletal pvp armor and how is it obtained? Is it a seasonal pvp event thing tied to the collars, is that the reward for being top 100, or is it reward for playing a certain amount of time period until another patch?

    Correct me if I'm wrong, but wouldn't dancer's dance skills being categorized as weaponskills make them now scale with skill speed? Could this be a potential benefit to dancers, to get your dances more frequently?

    We're not sure yet what the full scope of the LD change is. It says that the lifesteal is on living dead (so before you "die" and go into walking dead). It doesn't say that the lifesteal continues into those other two statuses, but I'm hoping it does. Even without the healing, undead rebirth would have a small reason to exist in that you wouldn't be screwed if a WHM benes you before the second tankbuster hit and removes your invuln.

    There is so much stuff they could have done to Samurai to fight button bloat, without removing Kaiten: - Ikishoten could change into Oki Namikiri on use - Jaijutsu could change into Tsubame-Gaeshi on use - Combine Shoha and Shoha 2 and have Meditate change into Shoha+Shoha 2 upon reaching 3 Meditation stacks - Slightly increase Shinten potency and remove Senei - Slightly increase Kyuten potency and remove Guren These would be 6 less buttons without the need to remove kaiten

    Machinist is Good for Savage and Ultimate Prog patch 6.1 Gives Machinist Roughly 2.4-3% dmg/potency buff The AOES remain unaffected sadly and wild fire is an auto proc it detonates automatically when the timer expires and its the same with the Drone and the Robot The more weapon skills that you do and they land a hit or a Crit during wild fire the more DMG wild fire Does when it explodes which also make a Bigger Explosion and well Wild fire is the Machinist Skill Spam Phase you spam as many skills as you can during the Wild fire timer to make a Bigger Boom when the timer expires i have Been playing Machinist for over a year now im still working out the kinks of it i fell in love with the class and im not gonna change it anytime soon

    Sterwart Soul being lvl 40 is something i wished happened for so long man, it fucking sucked so bad to lvl DRK because i only had 1 AOE to use in dungeons when all the other tanks got their 2 AOE waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay earlier.

    It's to help healers with mana management at low levels when you don't have anything besides Lucid Dreaming. Take WHM for example. Later levels evels you have lilies and Assize in addition to LD.

    I'm not one to complain about animations going away and I don't have any attachment to kaiten but I personally think shoha stuff and Guren/senai should have been on the chopping block before kaiten. Also wouldn't have minded kaiten becoming more used in combos not just midare

    the issue with what they did to Samurai isn't Samurai itself (yeah it got F**KED) its the opening of the floodgates for ALL jobs with high potency skills, sure Samurai is a pure DPS Job and Machinist has reassemble, but what of Gunbreakers Double Down and Blasting Zone, one is 1,200 potency the other 700, missing a critical hit on those is HUGE, Double Down with no buffs, non crit for me is 19k, Critical is 29k and finally Direct Critical is 34.5k. this is INSANELY huge ranges, i get that tanks are not dps, and it does not bother AS MUCH as it would on a DPS, it still sucks knowing that if i dont crit on my hardest hitter, im losing a fair amount of damage, but that's not what I see in the community, I guarantee that people who main other jobs with high potency attacks will feel shafted by this

    I think my issue with samurai is that midare just doesn't feel impactful anymore. It used to be this big hit even it it didn't crit, now it crits as much as a normal hit did before. The damage ceiling seems to have been lowered significantly. It also feels counterintuitive to substantially nerf the interaction with crit buffs after pushing a 2 min CD meta super heavily in EW. Not to mention the aoe not getting the guaranteed crits in addition to the new goken aoe animation looking horrible.

    Exactly this. Auto crit does nothing if the potencies aren't high enough. They are not high enough. I'm critting for 20k when I used to hit 30-35k. Straight up feels terrible.

    Overall changes are pretty cool. Paladin definitely a winner here. Drk looks better, blood weapon *its been 84 years* finally has charges, aoe combo finally being earlier is great. War no longer coneing things which I didn't have problem but a good change, IR change TY! Lol I'm mixed on samurai changes but really need to play with it. I might go back to dragoon lmao I don't healer much but whm and sage looks good

    MCH potency buffs aren't enough. The job is actually the worst physical ranged on any possible metric you pick. It has the lowest damage, it has the worst utility, it has anti-synergistic rotation with party buffs, it has ping problems, it's the least mobile ranged class. There's nothing good about it and it hurts my soul they didn't mention anything about it.

    Yea, I'm a MCH main as well. It's basically just my story prog class rn. Using RDM/ and SAM in Savage content. I just hope they'll reevaluate the class in the near future.

    yeah the increase is like 2.4% where we were like 5-6% behind bard and dancer, so we werent even given enough of a buff to put us inline with other ranged physical

    Just a note on the SMN's Ruby spell changes. The cast time for all of those spells is actually 2.8s instead of 2.5 like most spells, so before this they all had a cast time of 2.8 with a recast time of 2.5 so the recast changes just bring the GCD more inline with the cast time. Also Afflatus Misery isn't just DPS neutral, it should a DPS GAIN now. You're effectively getting 1 extra Glare III cast in potency (1240/310=4) (Edit: nah I'm wrong about Misery. Can't count lol)

    No, it's DPS neutral, because the Misery itself also takes up a GCD that you could have used Glare in. So 3x Lily + 1x Misery cast = 4 Glares.

    Misery being 1240 potency is DPS neutral. Using Misery takes 4 GCDs to use, 3 to build it up, and then 1 more to cast Misery. Glare III is 310 potency. 4 x 310 = 1240.

    The DRK job guide page has me a little worried about the lifesteal because it could just apply to Living Dead and not Walking Dead, but Walking Dead and Undead Rebirth aren't listed as additional effects and just later forms of living dead.

    "better tank" lmao. Easier tank, yes. Better? DRK does significantly more damage than WAR does, while still having enough survivability to get through any 4 or 8 man content currently in the game (anyone who tells you otherwise is just bad at juggling mitigations, and doesn't understand the concept of shields being effective HP gain). Everything in this game ultimately gets reduced down to DPS, because the more comfortable you are doing any content, the less of a buffer you need. At that point, efficiency begins to matter so much more. If you'd just rather play WAR than DRK, that's your choice, but to say it's the "better" tank is pretty silly.

    I'm super interested in the PvP changes, I already enjoyed PvP before these changes are going to change how ALL the gamemodes (Frontlines, and of course Crystal Conflict and Rival Wings when that returns) play now. I'm looking forward to trying out the spicy new changes to the jobs.

    Here's a sprinkle of WHM salt. Unless something else has changed, Aero II and Dia I are the exact same skill, except Aero II costs less MP than the 'upgrade'. It's great.

    The reason for that is that the Lily system comes online to make up for the extra mp cost. It's the same reason that the Stone skills have a lower mp cost than the Glare skills. So you're expected to cast 0 MP Lily skills instead of just spamming Glare and Dia.

    As a fellow DRK main i agree for the most part. LD is awesome now, they pulled it off. Sure defense wise DRK could always use a bit. TBN just feels weak on 90 compared to the other Mitigation spells who got so much love. This extra button we got for no reason with 10% dmg reduction (seriously wtf) just delete the Ability and slap that shit on TBN, that would be fine. Or some form of self heal. Seriously apart from one AOE with a 60 sec CD DRK has zero ability to self heal (standard combo doesn't count, every Tank has healing on that and it's pretty neglectible). Every other Tank has at least one form of self heal, FFS Warrior and Palas are basically healers in a plate trenchcoat now.

    Even though I'm not a WHM player, I am so happy to see the WHM changes. I think WHM is still in a position where it doesn't offer any sort of advantage or niche over any of the other healers, but the lily change is like a storm after a drought. Before, WHM had so few OGCD heals in comparison to the other healers that it would lose out on a significant amount of GCD offense over the course of a harder fight and fall behind everyone else in both damage and healing. Not only can they now keep up with healing now, but it's going to feel so much better using lilies as they were intended (mostly). I think there are a few things that can still be ironed out with the lilies, but it's such a positive change. And I hope that means we might slowly see improvements to healer gameplay leading up to and with the launch of 7.0. I'm also hoping we eventually see more improvements to Addersting in a future patch, but we'll just have to see what happens.

    I find it a bit weird that they only reduced MP costs for lower level damage spells, while leaving Stone 4, Glare and Dia the same (and even nerfing potency on Stone 4). I guess the idea was to push people to rely more on Misery for DPS, as it can now be cast more often and requires no MP.

    it's not squishy in any relevant raids where this balance matters, people just think it is because the average player only ever does dungeons where a different kind of mitigation profile is better. it's the same reason everyone says warrior's mitigation is OP because of bloodwhetting, when bloodwhetting on a single target is actually kind of underwhelming

    For DRK i wish they would have given them a mini TBN at like level 30 something with an upgrade every couple of levels maybe start at 10% and get traits up to the 25% at level 70. But yeh nice changes overall to DRK to make it feel a bit better.

    Wait whoot? Why you would use swift for Garuda? (Exept to snapshot the First Slipstream into Pot Window for the Opener) Slipstream was always 3sec cast and 3.5 recast. So aside of movement no really need for Swiftcast Slipstream. Same goes for Ruby rite now....Aside of movement smn has no use for Swiftcast anymore

    I am a bit disappointed about kaiten. I'd understand if it had no cost, but it did and factored into kenki management. It wasn't difficult or anything, but it was nice to have something to think about. Same reason I was disappointed when upheaval was taken off beast gauge.

    I'd've been fine with them removing Kaiten, what with the auto-crit on Setsugekka... but I do not understand the logic behind reducing potency on the non-Setsugekka Kaeshi. It turns the whole thing from just a button bloat reduction into actual damage loss. (Although I suppose the buffs to all the other abilities offset that somewhat)

    DRK isnt about self healing its about pure mitigation. The best GNB DRK combo you can see the DRK using less often TBN Then Heart of corundum and still mitigate more with it. You can go check by yourself on fflog if you want :).

    the smn ‘buff’ is about as big as a rounding error lol. damage increase but also a longer cast time. it balances out to be a 3potency per second increase on an ability you can only use twice every minute. yes, a whole 3 potency smn hasn’t moved an inch forward. this change was just to stop smns from using swift cast on ruby rite and not an actual improvement

    "optimal" SMN loses a bit of dmg from what I understand, but now they can use Swiftcast as they see fit It's a very minor change overall

    Overall, I think these changes are really really good with the biggest winner probably being Paladin who continues to get all the QoL love. Dark Knight is actually looking a lot better in that they can actually use their invuln now and legitimately expect to survive with my only gripes being that TBN is still not the greatest skill as compared to the other tank's abilities and they still lack self-sustain whereas Paladin got even MORE self-sustain. Sage getting some surprising QoL is also pretty cool but begs the question why they STILL won't put MCH heat blasts on a charge system like every other job in the game at this point. The potency increases for MCH look very promising but if they'd ONLY make this one additional change I think people would really come around to playing the job more.

    The whole premice of the job is life leech. They use to have "too m7ch" so they lowered it. Now all tank job self suatain more than DRk. Just let the DRK heal a % of the damage you deal up to a max % of your hp on all attacks. Like any other drk do in the other ff.

    In dungeons I always liked to Doton + Hide so I can have an extra Katon to cast. Sad about that 😔

    Blood Weapon stacks but no Hypercharge stacks for the DPS that needs it the most :/ the SAM changes dont get me excited at all. Tank changes are nice tho. Bittersweet patch overall

    It's sad seeing MCH not getting the charges on Hypercharge since it's basically mandatory for me to be using a vpn to comfortably play it as it is now. No other Jobs are like this with the 6.1 changes, so all this does is make me not want to play MCH anymore since I'd rather not be paying an extra monthly fee for a single Job. I had a feeling they weren't gonna address the AST button bloat, but until they do I doubt I'll play it much. Playing it with a controller feels bad to me. I still won't be taking DRK into any dungeons, trial/raids sure, but not dungeons. WAR's ridiculous self-sustain didn't get nerfed at all so it'd feel like I'm trolling the rest of the party if I brought any other tank. I only now realize it's the Jobs introduced in Heavensward that seem to have all the problems, for me anyway.

    DRK still sucks at pulling big especially w2w in dungeons, but i can live with that. these changes are so much better.
