BUDGET THOCK? Royal Kludge RK84 Unboxing, Review, and Mod - Gateron Pro Milky Yellows | denkidesks

Royal Kludge RK84 for me is the true budget king of keyboards! Just a few mods, its already better than some of the more expensive pre-builts. This is my first time modding a mechanical keyboard and I've enjoyed doing it! And most importantly, I'm so happy on how it all turned out!
All the mods i did:
Royal Kludge RK84
Gateron Pro Milky Yellow (Factory Lubed)
Durock Plate Mounted Stabs (Lubed, Clipped, Holee Mod by EscKeys)
Eva Case Foam
EVA PCB Foam
PE Foam
Tempest Tape Mod (2 layers maskin tape, 1 layer duct tape)
If you're around Angeles City in Philippines and needs help in modding your keyboard, checkout EscKeys!

My mods to get to a quiet thocky sound were much easier and cheaper. Ready to laugh? I sit my keyboard on a magazine, which is sitting on a tightly woven fabric placemat, doubled over ($2.50 from Walmart). Also added thin 40-A O-rings. That's it. Even the space bar sounds nice--none of that loud clunky noise. I have an RK61 Pro with aluminum case, stock PBT keys, Gateron reds. Placing the magazine on the bottom of the stack changes the sound. Still good, but I like it better on top. Oh, and the remainder of the placemat swings up over the keyboard and acts as a cover when not in use. I did order milky yellow pros and films for a heavier touch. I'll probably try adding the lower layer of foam in the case, which may allow me to get rid of the magazine, but I definitely don't need another hobby.
