Thanks for the video. Would be great to see a trail review. In particular I'm interested in hearing about any vertical compliance. The narrow 24.5mm profile lends itself to some compliance but it ultimately comes down to the layup. Looking forward to seeing more videos.

Will do once I have some miles on them but remember the only difference between these and the PR version is the hubs so I expect them to be good 👍
You can add Chris king oil in the rear hub and it will make it silence. Forgot, wow the price!

Nice, good to know!
Thx for the awesome vid!!!Nice looking Wheels,I think there are a little bit to loud for me,they seem louder then my dt swiss 350's with 54 t ratchets but I like the 60t ratchets that they come with just not the volume.Cheers!!

They are indeed a bit louder somehow! Hope all is great Glenn
thanks, got the PRO 36 (pro hubs) on your recommendation last year (thanks for code). love them. little squirelly laterally ( I weigh a lot and am pushing the 275lb max total weight, and, Specialized Ground Control tires, so, could be that),. Wondering if these gnar version will be a little better laterally, look forward to your experience after getting some miles on the gnar. Long time subscriber, first time poster 🙂. Great channel, thanks for the hard work.

Great to hear! They are a bit stiffer laterally, 3.5 vs 2.8 mm offset rims. But wonder if what you're seeing is tire squirm...try a bit higher pressure in the back or install the tire with an insert and see how you like it? Happy trails!
I have a set of the Pro 33s on my light trail bike. They are amazing wheels. Super light weight. The bike is snappy and climbs like a goat. Elitewheels is even very good with their warranty. Can't go wrong with them. Glad they are showing the world that quality can come a lower costs. Those delivery times though.....you'll be waiting a while.

I bought the gnar trail pr a month or so ago using your code (thanks), couldn't be happier with the wheels. They're on a banshee paradox, replacing some good but relatively heavy spank 350 wheels. Great value for a solid, lightweight wheelset.

I love my Spank 350s. But would love to try carbon
What can you tell us about the Frequency hub on the PR wheels? I currently only have custom built carbon wheels because I like to choose the hubs,rims and spokes. One set has Stan’s Baron CB7 carbon rims with ONYX Classic hubs and the other is for my gravel and is Zipp XPLR 101 carbon rims with Chris King hubs. Going custom is more than double $$ the “complete” price but it’s also either building something yourself or working with a good wheel builder to have a wheel that is built up to fit your needs.

Similar to I9 8 pawls. Have all the details in the video review linked in the description
In your NOBL TR32/TR35 video from a year or so ago you went for North American wheels for the warranty and said you were done with Chinese brands (showing several broken rims). Did something change your mind so that you are now comfortable with Elitewheels which I believe is a Chinese brand? The pricing on Elitewheels is excellent and if reliability is similar to NOBL or other big brands would be a great deal.
@LoveMTB
Ай бұрын
You're correct, I just came across those broken carbon rims the other day. Truth is that at the time I was going for cheap and light rims, which you could say is a no-no. And I agree, paid the price😊 For ELITE I even have a long term here - kzread.info/dash/bejne/aI2qsa2lZsTIacY.html They've served me well, or very well so far. Same for the NOBL wheels that we still use. As for pricing, wait until the 12th I might have an extra promo on MTB wheels
Went with branded reserve wheels the first time and they weren't anything special. Next time round i'd just go for these..
Really wondering, if in their lineup the 27.5 Pro28 wheelset would be a nice option for my kids bike, that actually has a 2.1kg heavy wheelset from the factory on his full suspension Canyon. He only weighs around 35kg, should be good for some light trails to bring down the total pretty hefty weight of the bike.
@LoveMTB

I woul dpersonally go for the PRO35, that 28 mm ID rim. PRO28 uses a rim that's too narrow for my taste/ 2024
I recall on one of your carbon wheel reviews you mentioned that they were not very compliant and might feel harsh. Please let us know how these feel.
@LoveMTB

Will do once we have some miles on that. Given my experience with the Gnar PR I expect them to be good, same rims and spokes used here.
I ordered the Pro36 before this video came out. I think the Pro36 is stronger enough for my down country riding. I done business with them on Ebay before they became Elite wheels. I just emailed them to see if they could send me an extra 60 teeth ratchet with my order. I did used your 15% discount code. thank you.

I see the advantage of carbon wheels, but where i live there is alot of flint rocks on the trails, they'd last 2 months max before a lump of sharp flint pinged up, hit the inside surface and destroyed them, even alloy rims suffer around here
@LoveMTB
Ай бұрын
Wow that’s rough! Do you use inserts for that reason?
@user-tb7rb6lt3d
Ай бұрын
@@LoveMTB no, but i do have to carry tyre patches, sidewalls don't last less well at all, i think inserts aren't really meritted here, it's mainly flint kicking up and striking the rim is the major issue, they used to make arrow heads out of flint for a good reason, great videos as per usual, i used to be john brown on KZread but i changed my phone and can't remember the password for that account 🤣, I'm the xtr spd seal guy who chimed in to help out

@@LoveMTB no worries, thanks for the great videos and reviews
How do the EliteWheels Gnar Trail carbon rims compare to the NOBL TR35s you reviewed last year? Any noticeable difference in ride quality or durability? I am looking at buying a new wheelset currently and debating between the NOBL TR37 with either an i9 1/1 hub or a Project 321 hub ($1,060/$1,200 respectively after 20% off), or going with the Gnar Trail PR (~$800 with your discount code). The EliteWheels Gnar Trail PR wheelset is about 100g lighter and 3-4 hundred less, but only has a 3 year warranty vs lifetime for the NOBL wheels.

I still haven't had any issues with the aftermarket 60t ratchets 😊 On my trifox roadbike I have built a new set with the goldix R160sl dt inspired ratchet hubs and they have a 72t engagement ratchet! We're getting closer 😂

Yeah the DT system is a bit different but I'm pretty sure you can keep the red axle spacer from ELITE installed and replace everything else with the 2 springs and ratchets from DT. Or get the ELITE 60T rathcet that I mentioned in this video and call it a day

Nobody doesn't even builds a custom wheel even price is the same. Just more commercials for chinese copies. I think this depends on peoples choices like if they want a wheelset upgrade why not start out on the cheap stuff so you dont make a mistake buying the more expensive offers out there and end up not liking it. No bike/parts are perfect. One more is great example ENVE, if its a great product why not more people order them instead of others out there. Simple its not for Everybody
