I just found this dude through another dude I know.. I see this as not trying to BE Buddhas smile, but simply expressing the love of ones own creation. Hence BEING Buddha. Love your own creations, love your own expression, love your own emotions. That's how you realize what you are, I think. And you are Buddha.

Who built his guitar? Wonderful!
@kevinswierkosz-lenart
6 жыл бұрын
It's a Luigi Mozzani classical guitar. It has nothing to do with the "Mozzani-Farfisa" brand, a commercial operation that exploited Mozzani's name to sell aboslutely ordinary guitars. This one is a "real one": Domeniconi has always been playing this wonderful instrument because Carmen Lenzi Mozzani (Luigi's granddaughter) was his teacher.

Back when I was studying his compositions in undergrad I emailed him regarding how he writes his music. This was I want to say in 2014 or 2015. It's been a while. And I'll never forget it. He asked me if I composed myself and I answered yes I do, a little bit. He said "The most important thing is the love. Good luck." I've watched this performance of his piece multiple times. I figured that he passed on a phrase to me that even he still struggles to understand the reach of "the love". Maybe someone else told him it when he was as young as I was when he said that to me. The restlessness, anxiety, resolution of that anxiety, then the recapitulation back into that anxiety up to the end of the piece, tells me if he can't figure out what that phrase may mean, I have no hope of doing so either. And that may just be a feature of "the love" being the most important thing. I would call it a bug rather than a feature. But that may mean I have a lot more life in me to go before I find the peace of Buddha that Domeniconi captures in elegant form. Thank you, Maestro Domeniconi. For not just responding to a student's email (as I'm sure you were very busy at the time), but for sending me on a journey that you're still traveling today.

He sure is good guitarist, but what comes to the composition itself, not so good. For me at least. It seems too improvisatory and lacks structure and logic. That is fine for a fantasy-kind of shorter composition, but this is 15 minutes long. Really good ideas tho.

"Different strokes for different folks." I'm sure many people would rave about the guitar he is playing.To me (sound wise),it has a very glassy,metallic "surface" type sound.But that's my observation.IMHO,Carlo is a talented guitarist and genius composer too. As for Buddhism,being a lay person myself,of the Theraveda School,arguing is really pointless.It's a waste of time & energy.For example: people debating if God really exists or not. As for me,I personally don't care.Others do,fine.Whatever.To each their own. Have a good day!
