    1:22:20 Reading the room and selling your Beats by looking like you enjoy is actually underrated. I've been in studio with so many producers that look like they don't even enjoy their own music, or they're not sure of it, like wtf? If you've watched Travis Scott in the studio you've seen that man go crazy over something you're thinking "c'mon, I could've made that In my sleep" but when he hops all over the place raging alone, you think "no, this is actually Hot 🔥". So make what you enjoy and sell that feeling to whoever is listening. We all love music for the feeling. FEEEEEEL your music ❤️❤️

    James Brown's drummer, Clyde Stubblefield, is the man resposible for the way black american musical accents hit on the one of the beat. That's a uniquely Black American trait, and is the very essence of Hip-Hop drums. I had no idea Buddah Bless was that Hip-Hop.

  • @Osiris-wm2kj

    @Osiris-wm2kj

    Actually.. this goes wayyyy back to Africa brother. Alot of ritualistic drums will hit on the one.. long before America.

  • @IKARIking67

    @IKARIking67

    2 жыл бұрын

    @@Osiris-wm2kj Not hit on the one, accent the one (musically, as well as Rhythm) as in James Browns grunts and the horn arrangements that emphasize the one. Hip-Hop's DNA. The only thing that survived Africa in our music, was prioritizing drums as a rhythmic base, and the grio storytelling. We no longer kept rhythm with hand based drums anymore because we didnt have access. Shout out to Dee Dee Chandler for the drum set, he changed music forever. We also dance between the beat, which is different than others in the black diaspora. Without that change, the entire worlds music would sound different today.

    Cant even cap, I use everything. I was born in 94', I grew up hearing and listening to Haitian gospel music and boom bap hip-hop. My ears are used to acoustic sounds, but I like certain synth sounds. I tend to sample and use loops, more so instrumentation loops though, cause I don't know how to play instruments. I can't knock people who use only loops, at the end on the day whether you like it or not this is hip-hop and it was born off of sampling, they barely made anything from scratch back then. We're producers/beat makers or whatever you want to call it. Use anything from a truck backing up to fucking around with a synth signal to make beats, it's whatever. I think you should learn everything, theory/sample/ using loops, just make sure you credit people lol.
