I see how easy you are holding your rats haha. I have 3 boys, one of them will just hang there for ages if I kept holding him. But one, no matter what I do, he still claws the hell out of me when I pick him up. Usually its because hes got somewhere he shouldn't be! He is 6 months though, so hopefully I'll get him more used to it. Thanks for these videos, very interesting 😊

Some rats don’t love that kind of handling which I tend to respect lol, but most of mine at least put up with me lol

Kip is awesome, really lovely black (and an amazing person too). I can’t wait until he’s old enough to gather some babies. Half my friends are eyeing him up too lol. He should have a very good life, food, friends and occasional one night stands!

My approach to fostering is to find them a good new home before they get to me, the only way they don’t end up staying lol

Hi Jemma, Quick question. Just reading the pro rat a magazine. It mentions coco fibre soil for rats? Have you used this before? If so what is a safe onw to get? I know you use soil n your cages but can not remeber if coco.? As a note the coco soil if ok to use will only be using it for play/foraging not bedding

What about bucks over a year old who have a ton of buck grease?

I would always look to there diet first, I’ve found an excessive build up of buck grease is most a dietary imbalance of oils (often the wrong types) or a shortage of omega 3oils. What are you feeding?

Isamu Rat Care Currently the main diet is Oxbow Essentials adult rat food. I ordered a scuttling gourmet book too

It’s a great book. I would try offering them a few drops of linseed, flax or hemp oil once a day. You can also get a soft bristled brush to help short term. See if that helps
