(I’ve been copy and pasting this comment on several reaction vids - mainly the ones that I think actually like/care about Jimin,so I’m gonna drop it here too) The lyrics you read were a bit off/mistranslated, there are some better translations on twitter and I'll link one here. On twitter after Jimin posted the song, he said that this song was for both him and us, so while I was reading the translated lyrics I tried thinking of the words through his eyes and my own which gave me several interpretations. "Sitting on the ground alone, I get taken over by ever-growing thoughts, 'Since when have you been hurting me' Even you don't know" This is probably Jimin talking to himself, or his own mind, but obviously he can't answer that. “You're hurting too, 'cause you're mine/ I just wanna blow your mind", I thought of this as him again speaking to himself, almost saying something like "I know you don't mean any harm; I just want to make myself proud" - but I thought of this also as him talking to Armys. You may know this already but Jimin tends to be very hard on himself thus always tries to push himself beyond his limits; as his fans we care deeply about him and when he's struggling mentally and pushing himself too hard it seriously worries us, and I'm pretty sure he knows that, he doesn't mean to worry/hurt us, he just always wants to show his best self/coolest sides and make us proud. The day before Jimin's birthday this year, there was an incident where Jimin's muscles began to seize up and he was in terrible pain (this is the 2nd time something like this has been publicly reported/that we know of has happened), thus why he couldn't perform on The Graham Norton Show. On the day of Jimin's birthday Jhope posted a video of the members on their private jet heading to their next tour stop, they were all saying/singing Happy Birthday to Jimin but he kept his head down/face hidden from the camera. That really broke my heart. He just seemed so ashamed and like he didn't want us to see him in his current state. "Again, you're moving further away like this, 'I'm alright', Though I say so, maybe the truth is that I'm not." He hardly admits when things are too much for him or that he's tired/exhausted, but here, he admits it to us finally, and to himself. The rest of the song is quite sweet and I think it easier to understand, he just wants himself and us to be happy, by being each other's support but by also, and perhaps especially, supporting and caring for ourselves. The end really got to me, because I often say "I should just throw myself away", because I often feel like trash, but him saying specially not to do this tugged at my heart. Minamochi's translation is the closest/most on point translation I think, that translation really makes you understand the sense of the song and that it also correlates with the Love Yourself theme. Jimin's musical artistry shows it transcends to music making and song writing as well, what a multi-talented man.

People in Twitter have pointed out before that it may not be “Night” but “I want you to be your KNIGHT...” which adds so much more meaning to the song and also makes more sense. Basically Jimin’s telling himself and other people to not depend on others but on yourself to save, protect and make yourself happy. As Jimin-biased, hearing Jimin say that he’s gonna be putting himself first this year is the best possible gift I could ever have. I love him.

So it’s two years later, but I disagree. I think it IS “night” because it makes sense to talk about night in reference. It’s commonly known that nighttime is a space of honesty, people feel safer to share more honestly in the darkness and quiet of nighttime. So with this understanding the line means that you should be your own safe, comforting space so that you can be honest with yourself 💜 It fits perfectly 🙂

It's actually NIGHT, he cleared that in his VLIVE! He said that he and namjoon wrote this song together and joon suggested that like we should be our own light and our own night (with light comes shadows) and Jimin liked that v much so he incorporated it in his song! plus this was originally supposed to be like a scolding song kinda vibezz... I feel like this ("you're hurt cause you mine, I just wanna blow your mind") is kind of like a conversation between jimin and army. The first part is army talking to him "you're hurt cause your mine" is us always saying to him to take care of himself cause he's hurting trying to make us happy. The second part "I just wanna blow your mind" is him saying he wants to work hard to make us happy. He want to amaze us and so he works so hard. So we (army) are saying your hurting because of us but he is saying he just wants to blow our minds. The song is a promise to us and himself to take care of himself better maybe? Sorry, English it's not my first language. I hope my theory on this one sentence kind of makes sense and was good.

I agree that he's singing to us, but it's also a conversation between Jimin and himself. He wants to promise himself to keep going even though it's hard and he's often lonely, not to throw himself away even though he's hurting. So he's telling us to take care of ourselves and be our own light even in the darkness, and for him to do the same. The most important person to take care of is yourself :)

He is promising himself that despite when things go wrong that he doesnt throw himself away. He also says that it is a song for us. That we are to promise him not to throw ourselves away when we feel underappreciated or worthless. He wants him to promise himself that he will love himself. And wants us to promise that we will love ourself. No matter what happens.
