Actually it was RM who protected them as much as possible from haters. Because the others don't know English as much. RM, their leader, would read the hate comments himself and then hide or delete them so the others wouldn't see them. It was actually a major issue with RM at the beginning. Not an issue as in bad, but he was often monitoring their online comments/status and it messed with his emotions a lot, made him depressed and down on himself. He's a lot better now though and the others have always been there to support and remind him how much they love him and how great a leader he is! They certainly are the best team of brothers 💜

The issue with V being so upset about his grandmother’s passing, he was basically raised by her, and he felt like she was a mother to him, and extremely close to her. He was in the Philippines when he was notified of her passing. She never got to see him perform. He was devastated.

Okay about the misogyny: In their MV for Boy In Luv, Jin grabs the girl (the subject of the MV) pushes her on the locker, grabs her hand and brings her to the guys all of whom are singing to her. Because of that even when there was behind the scenes footage of Jin apologizing to her and her accepting the apology people screamed misogyny. Also people thought the lyrics of War of Hormones was sexist because they didn't understand that the song was talking about how teenage boys' hormones go off thinking about girls they like. No the caller was a stan of another group calling disputing BTS winning the award. You didn't understand what the rep was saying. He was defending BTS' numbers. Because that is how even BB Hot 100 works. Based on streaming, sales and radio numbers like the rep was explaining to the girl. About enlistment there is some things you aren't understanding. Basically every Idol agency went to the meeting EXCEPT BIGHIT BUT BTS WAS USED BY THE OTHER AGENCIES as to why Idol groups should get exemption. IMO the government's first response was schadenfreude. They said that you had to receive or be eligible for a cultural merit award. BTS are the youngest kpop Idols to receive the award and it was given to them by special permission because they aren't eligible for the award naturally right now. One criteria for the award is you have to be either over 30 or 35 years of age. That is why all the agencies are protesting it as unfair because you have to serve by the age of 30 so they could never even be eligible for the award in time of their enlistment and BTS are the only group who has it as of now.

Since you wanted to know about Jin's contribution to their team's moral and as I haven't really seen any comments regarding that... here are only some of the things we know... When they were trainees they were struggling really really hard financially as you've seen from this video during those time Jin( who is actually someone born to a rich family and had no prior experience of financial struggle) would often buy their groceries out of his own pocket, He was very very active in showing online support whenever a particular member was being bashed online. Not only as seen in case of JHope here, he once wore the same outfit as Jimin to the Chicago soundcheck when Jimin was receiving a lot of DTs Jin has actively helped everyone in the team to have better mental health and feel better about themselves, in his live on 240416 Jimin spoke about how much Jin had helped him understand himself, Rm has said on multiple occasions how he learned self love from Jin's ideals, I'm sure there are a lot more aspects in which he has helped shape Bangtan little by little in his own ways to what they've become now. He is such a multifaceted guy with this huge and amazing personality that just simply commands love, respect and attention. I love him a little too much... does it show? I hope it doesn't~~

The songs aren't misogynistic at all.... Those songs are War of hormones and boy in luv... You can check these out... It's in their culture to apologise... And it's also better to safe than sorry... These alleged allegations were from the fans of another groups just to sabotage their career....

As someone around a long time in the fandom there are reasons they apologized. It was not only these two songs. What we should take from it is not that they are misogynistic but they live in a culture that tends to be and have really taken criticism and grown from it when confronted. I know it’s not talked about but knowing how they have grown will give you a better picture of why we love them. They are good people at heart and never mean to be hurtful

I've been searching and investigating on this topic for past 3 years and they have no idea what being misogynistic really means I've been with BTS from a long time and I know all their songs.. And their none of the songs talks against women empowerment They just needed a way to break down BTS and Army failed their plans. I just hope people could be more understanding before using strong words like "misogyny"

It is unfortunate that the video is a little confusing as it was for me too when I first watched it. xCeleste seems to be a long-time ARMY so she probably missed key details that new ARMYs would need to know in order to understand the events. My guess is that she intentionally avoided making leading statements so that she would not sound too biased toward BTS, stating facts so that the viewer could assess the situation objectively. It's hard to create or find unbiased material out there, so kudos to her for taking a more journalistic approach. :)

Thank you for your reaction! When I was young, I listened to many songs from famous artists that had horrible lyrics (in terms of content towards women). BTS was misunderstood with War of Hormone and I have no problem with a young man expressing how he feels about the chemicals that are raging in his body. The fact that RM's response was one of trying to understand rather than denial or belittling other opinions just says so much about him, personally. His intent was not to offend and he cares about his fans and the content he puts out into the world (as well as the other members)...so heartening to see celebrities care and put that care into action! They are unlike any other celebs showing their foibles and sharing their emotions. I'm so glad you will do Run BTS here! I will watch! Can't wait for you to see how goofy and generally loving and funny they are. Their humor is a gift to their fans, so uplifting!

the german host guy recieved a huge backlash and armys all over the world were bringing the issue about the racism towards asians, not only bts, for a few weeks after that because of the increased aggressions due to the pandemic. he and his company tried to apologise a few times stating that he "wasn't intending to be offensive" (yeah calling them "little pissers" and "blasphemy" on air is not offensive at all) and "attempted to express his feeling in an exaggerated manner that hurt the feeling of bts' fans". they claimed it was just a joke and never realized that jokes can be racist too and can have drastic consequences, they also never realised that it wasn't exactly about hurting armys feelings. we never made it about our feelings. we were fighting the blatant anti-asian internalised racism. with every attempt to save his image the guy was burring himself even further, saying he can't be called racist because he uses a korean car (it was japanese but it doesn't even matter, how a car can be compared to the respect towards a nation), saying he just underestimated armys power along the way calling us "fanatical followers of a musical cash machine" that "distorted his statements" by the "currently very popular racist stick". it was a mess. a mess that perfectly shows you what kind of environment bts and army have to deal with regularly an interesting info from the Weverse publishing: "BTS’s latest collab “My Universe,” was made through a kind of understanding between the group and Coldplay. The collab itself had been under consideration much earlier, but Coldplay’s name came up when a German DJ made racist remarks about BTS in early 2021 while preparations were being made. Both BTS and Coldplay clearly opposed the idea of racism. Consequently, this social awareness found its way into the final product when it was eventually released, making the collaboration about more than just the song itself." and the lines from the song are "they said we can't be together because we come from different sides"

People hated them the minute they debuted for no reason and as they got more popular the hate just increased. "war of hormones" (2014) was the song they were allegedly accused for being misogynistic but the english translation didn't do justice to the actual lyrics and made it kinda offensive. these accusation began when international kpop fandoms started it then it spread like fire and made it to articles and ofc bighit apologized because they want to clear the mess whether ya consider it offensive or not (they weren't a big company back then to go against the public and didnt have power) you should listen to the song and see it with ya own pov. with war of hormones they just want to potray how is being a guy in teenage years and chasing girls and all. "boy in luv" wasn't claimed as misogynistic but replying back with "boy with luv" was bts answer how they and the love became mature.

As a woman I never understood what was offensive in that song... is like if those people never heard a western song or reggaeton song when "artist" call and treat women like only a "wet p*ssy"... that's real misogyny.. War of hormones is actually rly innocent, immature yeah, but innocent.. and is more focus on boys battling their hormones than in girls, like boys discovering sex basically and is pretty relatable to women as well.

I have followed these young men for about six years. I am a 69 year old 8th generation American. My son-in-law is Chinese. My family includes Hispanics, Afro-Americans, & transgenders. We don't see race, color, or gender in this family. I have a copy of a letter that my great great great great great grandfather wrote to President Thomas Jefferson in 1806. Am I a blue blood? Maybe, but I am first an American. My 6th great-grandfather was in line to inherit an Earldom in Scotland, but he had emigrated to New Jersey and espoused democratic thoughts & ideas. He was both a minister & a physician. Look it up. Reverend Samuel Kennedy MD. I really hate what is happening in my country right now. The only chance we have of fixing it is to vote. Ergo they had no power over them. BTS is truly independent of the “Kpop” system. And THATS the basis of ARMY saying BTS is not kpop. Thanks! I've been watching Kpop/Kdramas for about 15 years. As I recall, there were, at the same time, at least a couple of up and coming groups with very active fan bases. Much of the hate BTS received as they grew ever more popular came from 'fans' and companies representing the other group(s). The entertainment industry in Korea is a cut throat business, imo. BigHit has been very good to BTS...but other companies....well, there are some pretty horrific stories out there on how they treat their Idols. I have always thought they needed a legit artist's association to represent them and hold some of the companies accountable. As you also noticed, one of my pet peeves about Korean culture/society, whatever you want to call it, is their tendency to ALWAYS feel the need to apologize even if it is very clear that they've done nothing wrong and often followed by a promise to do better, to work harder. They are a very self-depreciating people...to the point where it is annoying to me. People today also throw the word 'misogynist' around without knowing the true meaning of the word. There are a few very early videos where BTS shows immature, and sometimes forceful teenage angst behavior towards girls, but nothing that can be labeled as misogynistic. Again, haters gonna hate and they were coming from everywhere to knock BTS down. On a side, it is always nice to meet someone who is 'awake' to the wokeness ;) Keep smiling and Borahae, ARMY grandma

BTS wasn't starting a trend with having makeup on for performances, commercials or other filming. Back hundreds of years males and females wear makeup onstage either for the costume or due to harsh lighting. Today men and women have makeup done for TV shows such as the news and for movies. BFREE and his group were just being nasty and trying to put RM and Suga down. BTS was not misogynistic. Their 2 songs were misunderstood and BigHit apologized to calm down the situation and create a safer atmosphere for the guys. Thanks for your review and I can't wait to see more 💜

I am a makeup artist. Everyone that goes on stage or screen wears makeup....even sports stars, etc. B free or whatever his name is was a decade older than them. RM & Suga were so young. Anywho the last I heard of Bfree is he was arrested for fighting/ beating someone up outside of a bar. He waited 6-7 years to apologize to BTS & ARMY. I love the lyrics in 'Mic Drop' ..."no need to apologize"

The one big thing about BTS haters and antis, they nit-pick on every single tiny thing they can find just to made BTS look bad and bring them down. Even if they did nothing wrong, the antis would twist things around to cause useless and unnecessary trouble. I'm happy that BTS and ARMY stuck together and got through these hurdles until now. Same time, it's pretty sad that the hardships may never stop because of how big they are. All BTS wants to do is share their love of music around the world. Why do people want to make it a bad thing? it's crazy.

Sorry for my long comment, I hope I can give you some additional information about the topics covered in the video. In the misogyny accusations, it was pointed out that some phrases in BTS songs presented women as an object, for example: I like you, but still, don't wear converse low (song Converse High) The girls are equations, and us guys are solutions (song War of hormone) Women are the best gift, gift (song War of hormone) Joke was also mentioned, which is a solo song by RM, which is aimed at his haters but with many puns and slang, which allowed the meaning of the song to be misunderstood (especially in other countries for not knowing the different connotations of those words or phrases). Even a tweet from Suga that they argued could have another connotation due to Korean puns. I am sure that Big Hit and RM reviewed and studied each of these accusations because we know that they do not take things lightly and that if they decided to publish an apology it is because they considered it pertinent. In South Korea, apologizing is part of the culture, even given the relevance of each case or affected person, foot or knee bows are used and the degree of inclination is determined; also when they are offered in writing if it is a very serious matter or they want to look very sincere, they must be done by hand. The hamburger thing was something that shouldn't have happened; Although it was a program and they were in different teams, it was not the way an adult should behave when dealing with a teenager. But years later they met again in a different situation, him hosting a show while JK being a global superstar. JK's humility, simplicity and maturity came to the fore as before the program he took the initiative to contact the presenter and iron out any rough edges so as not to affect the development of the program. My respects to JK. At the Busan festival, the one who was not there was RM. I saw the video that some foreign students uploaded about the event, they were in the upper part and from the screams you could tell that most of the attendees were waiting for BTS.

You are awesome to watch and listen to. I remember when you first started to react to BTS. You didn't really know that much about them. I think you have become an ARMY and defend them as the rest of the ARMY does. Until I watched this, I didn't realize everything they have been through. I am sickened by the mean hateful things that have been said about BTS. They have worked very hard to get to where they are at today. Even when they have the right to lash out at the haters, they take the high road and remain professional which speaks volumes about their character! Others are jealous because they haven't been able to be as successful even with the backing of the media and promoters. Like you said, BTS did it organically so no one owns them!! One of the things I love the most is they draw a diverse ARMY. Girls, boys, women, men, and people of all ages around the world. They are truly Global Superstars. We haven't seen a group like this since the Beatles! I love BTS 💜💜💜!

The enlistmen thing is used to attack BTS.. but is actually a pretty fair discussion... Top athletes, CLASSICAL musicians and other artist already have exemptions when winning an olimpic medal, an oscar or other equal high prizes. So why only those athletes can have the exemption? it would be fair to change the law to be more fair with society in general and BTS is the blue print (bc they are the ones bringing immense money to korea and promoting korean culture)...and exemption doesn't mean they cant serve, it just mean they have the option bc they already serve the country well

I agree 100% with your views on free speech, people do have the right to their own opinions, and they do have the right to express those opinions. As longs as it’s not actually violent or harmful or inciting hatred. And we all have the right to disagree with those opinions, again, as long as we aren’t violent or hateful about it. It’s fine if people don’t understand the appeal of BTS, or don’t like the music - I actually have no problem with that, people can say that and it’s ok (it sometimes makes me laugh because they are only hurting themselves by missing out on all the awesomeness and it sometimes makes me pity them for being so narrow-minded and closed off). Respectful disagreement is essential. Even heated and emotional discussions have a lot of value. But don’t attack them, don’t bully them, or don’t just be a black-hearted evil wretch to them, because yes, then I want to come out swinging too, I am protective of them when it comes to stuff like that. These men are better people than me, they are kinder, and much more forgiving. It takes a lot to make me lose my temper, anger is not really an emotion I like. But hurt an innocent, especially someone I love or admire and look up to, eish, then I lose my shit. I think the world needs BTS, and is benefitting from their example, they certainly make me strive to be a better person (and I’m actually not a bad person, I am a registered nurse 😂) - so these buttercups will just have to suck it up, BTS isn’t going anywhere any time soon 😂😂🤷‍♂️ And ultimately it doesn’t matter if the mainstream in the west doesn’t fully accept them, BTS are self-made men - who they are made us Army, and we will continue to support them and love them until the end, and that is why they are “bulletproof” 🙏💜💜 Thanks so much

I think those that accused BTS of being misogynistic don’t actually understand what the word means - BTS have never acted in any way that could possibly be interpreted as disliking women!! I think, possibly, people felt they were objectifying women with Boy In Luv and War of Hormone, because they do mention how teenage boys find girls attractive - their hair, clothes (see-through 😂),high heels etc… It’s really a bit silly, imo, these lyrics describe typical teen sexual awakening quite well, but are nowhere near as graphic as many western songs…In fact, their description of how confused boys are by girls, and how helpless the boys are is almost empowering in a way - most of us girls never, ever felt like we were in control as teens either, we were equally as confused and bewildered by our feelings, so if boys thought we were actually in charge, that’s cool 😂😂 I am also fed up with the woke folks, they do so much damage - it’s important that people can speak! The Jungkook hamburger issue was painful to see - it was his first time appearing in a show with out his hyungs, and he was only 18, and although he didn’t live a “normal” life, he was still protected and sheltered by his six big brothers. He bought expensive food for his cast mates (and in Korea, the youngest never buys food) and that bully mocked and ridiculed him, and made everyone else do the same, on camera, as “comedy” - when you watch the programme and see his little face, he is so bewildered and hurt, and just kinda kneels alone, holding his gift…People lack humanity and try to pretend it’s funny - it’s really not, and he deserved a sharp slap. As for Shallon Lester - how dare she pick on the most beautiful man on earth, who also happens to be an angel, with the sweetest heart and purest soul?!!! WhoTF is she?? I have to be careful, I will become a complete bitch to defend these dudes as I just won’t have this malice, it’s not on. But BTS would not want us to get upset! Legitimate criticism, of their music, lyrics, performance, whatever - that’s fine, not everyone has to like what they do - but this nastiness for the sake of inflicting damage and pain - it’s bull. We don’t build ourselves up by putting others down, and she is old enough to have learned this lesson. I believe we eventually get back what we put out into the world, so she should watch who she attacks. These men stand for integrity, honour, decency, kindness, love, sacrifice, charity, hard work, generosity, hope - and so much more. What does she stand for? Anyway, I’m not finished your video yet, and already writing a book here! So sorry 😞 💜💜🙏

When Jimin received the first death threat Jin dressed to match what Jimin was wearing for the concert to make it more difficult for an attacker to distinguish who was who. Never tell me that Jin isn't far deeper than he's given credit for. The members once said during an interview that Jin sets the mood of the group. He has said that he tries at all times to show only a cheerful and positive face for the others even though he feels down often. It has been said, I don't know if it's true, that he started "Eat Jin" to help convince Jimin to eat when he was severely dieting to the point where he was passing out after performances. It has also been said, and again we have no way of knowing if it's true, that Jin brought Yoon-gi back from the brink of suicide due to his depression. When JK was missing his family Jin took him to eat with his own family. He also drove JK to school when the schedule allowed JK to attend. RM has said that he didn't understand Jin at first but since has been inspired by him to the point where one of his most famous concert ending speeches was sparked by something Jin said casually over dinner. I've always felt that Jin was the protective filter that allowed members to function even through individual or collective dark times. He also is the role model for individual expression and empowerment, frequently ignoring Big Hit "rules" and doing so openly.

You know what, I'm not throwing shade or anything because like or not this is a fact but the big3 company(SM, YG and JYP) are always! Like always try to sabotage BTS from all aspects since their early career. YG: Blackpink, Big Bang etc SM: Exo(their fans are the ones who called the awards show), Red Velvet etc JYP: Twice, Stray Kids etc And this is the reason why armys are not considering themselves as K-pop fan because we only stan BTS. Because no one can convince me to say that coming from the big3 isn't a privilege at all. Not saying that other groups don't struggle, but BTS is just on another level. Suga's hardship alone can beat all of them. That's why BTS stands where they're today. Ngl I used to be Blackpink's fan but after learning what their company did to BTS, nah bro I'm out. Plus they don't even write or produce their songs, don't even have a song for their fans and lack content. And when I was a hardcore fan I noticed that their songs are much similar to each other(in my opinion). Only talk about being badass and so whatever. Then, look how the big3 treat their idols like a robot compares to our beloved Bang PD/Hitman Bang(the CEO, but that a chairman) treats our boys is a huge difference. BigHit and P.Nation(Psy's company) are the kindest and fair and humane companies ever in not treating their idols like a robot. Again, I'm not hating. And yes, all the hate towards BTS doesn't make sense at all. Just because their favs couldn't reach BTS level. This is the crash course video to show you how BTS is different, you can react to this or maybe just watch it in your free time. kzread.info/dash/bejne/f2hkzNWEmazJnZs.html Forgot to mention, that the reporter was sent by YG to sabotage their press conference by asking about plagiarism. If you see carefully, you can see jk's smirk at 30:18 I can list down a whole bunch of things the companies and even some of their artists did and still do to BTS, including their artists. In a boy group from YG named IKON, one of the members(Bobby) once dissed RM in his rap just because RM didn't come from a big and wealthy company(that JOKE song is a reply to that diss, they're indeed a joke in BTS's eyes) Then tell me how can armys be patient with those all companies and their artists.

The misogynistic lyrics in question was from War of Hormones where teenage boys discover girls and one line translates as ... '(Korean version)girls are like puzzles/enigmas, and boys love to solve them' which was then translated into 'girls are like equations, boys do them'. As for Boy in Luv in the MV there is a scene where Jin grabs a girl and pushes her into a locker. This scene is such a kdrama school trope but International SJW took this out of context and spun toxic masculinity/misogyny. I am happy to announce that the radio host and his show is off the air.

I love the behind the scenes of Boy in Luv, where Jin is apologizing to the girl, and she is reassuring him that it was alright. He was more worried about it than she was. It was actually touching to watch.💜 Even with the poor translation, in War of Hormone, it is clear that it's talking about 'doing', an equation - as in solving, or figuring out. To see any other meaning in that line boggles my mind. 💜

@@leahwarburton So true and Korean fans at that time got it, but then two years later international fans of the 'other group' had to make it into something ugly. But even if their lyrics had been like the English version, the lyrics were still mild compared to Western hip hop where women and girls are degraded and objectified on a regular basis. Thios was definitely a case of trying to find something to put them down. Exol and vips were rabid at that time.

The reference to misogyny was not something they said but rather from the lyrics of the song Boy in Love. You may not interpret the lyrics the same way but someone did and Big Hit and RM both agreed that some of the lyrics may have been interpreted as misogynistic. They apologized and RM is making sure that lyrics to future songs cannot be interpreted that way. That guy that was the member of the other boy band that said something about BTS being their own category or whatever. He may have had the "right" to say what he said but if you listen carefully to what he said he was talking white privilege. The subtext of what he was saying was clear as day. BTS doesn't deserve to be in the same category because they're not white.

The song wasn’t bad at all. It came from the other companies in South Korea trying to squash their success. As the fan base has a large female component this was a direct attempt. They are dirty and underhanded and often stir up other fanbases and are also at the root of the problem.

bts are the only pop artist to ever received those awards with the exemption of their age, bcuz u can only receive that award if you've been in the game for like 15 years and with notable achievements but bcuz bts had achieved so much and in fact was Visible in south Korea's GDP they were awarded with cultural merit. those companies who are crying for the revision are the same company who were objecting the same revision cuz they said it's too impossible.

Lots of people experience hate and bullying. BTS stands out for they way they handle it. No childish back and forth insults or calling people out directly. Instead, they write lyrics that address the issues as a societal problem, as opposed to just something personal to them. That's how they help the world, by speaking out for all of us.
