THIS IS KINDA LONG SORRY BUTTTTTT, You guys are really smart! Yes a lot of what you said is true about what everything means. BTS has been telling us a story about a fictional universe about 7 boys who grow into being adults and have their own troubles. In this universe they use their real names as the names for the characters they play in the music videos(MV's). It all begins with their 5th album "The most beautiful moments in life pt.1" or HYYH as its known bc of the album cover having those letters in chinese. (Update: the is slight evidence that it started from when they first debuted) From this point onwards BTS has been putting the story plots in action, but was always expressed in symbolic objects, actions, sets, clothes and even their dances. Since BTS relesed the events of the universe out of order instead of chronological we as Army's have been trying to piece together the story in correct order. This new era of BTS: TEAR is the key piece that really puts thing into perspective and makes all the other MVs make more sense looking back. There is A LOT of theories about what it all means but essentially the goal BTS is wanting to do is express a part of humanity they resenate with in order to have their listeners relate and in the process love themselves hence the recent era; with the previous album Love Yourself: HER & now Love Yourself: TEAR. BASIC STORYLINE: All the boys are connected and each has their own issues and are paired up with a member that creates contrast and even more symbolisim except Jin (the guy trying to protect the flower in the vase). We see through the MVs that they are all happy, but end up in fear,anger, sadness at some point. In their album WINGS we see the abstract scenes of these hurting emotions and each member has an object that represents that: snickers bar is when jhope's character mother left him at an aracde with the snack and never came back for him, water is when Jimin tried to drown himself in the tub, fire is when Suga mom died in a fire and then tried burning himself. Since this happened, Jin who is the only one with no partner and is able to see what's happening to his friends is able to go back in time~science fiction time~ he has been trying to redo the tragic events and replace them with happier ones but it never works. With HER they were all happy bc they end up trying to forget their pain and give there all to HER (which are females who appear in their lives and make them happy/ we also see that the girls are actually a version of the member each one is paired with~ more symbolisim). We are introduced to these girls in BTS Highlight Reel in where each girl has an item that represents them: cake, hair tie, lolipop etc. But it is all FAKE and the tragic events STILL happen. So now (i assume) Jin will realize that nothing is working bc the members need to love themselves and accept their wrong actions(you can see those action in a broad sence in the "I Need U" MV) Sorry this was long, but yeah this is a long thought out storyline that is actually very beautiful and very real in the sence that they don't bullshit in showing the audiance the not so nice parts of being a human. There is a lot of Theory videos so its all up to u guys. Also, know this. EVERYTHING BTS SHOWS IS NOT A COINCIDENCE. EVEN THE LYRICS ARE CONNECTED. You have opened a can of worms that is very much worth opening.

He/she didn't explain the story to you, that person explained her/his theory. There is no confirmation of anything from bighit or bts that any theorys are true, we just know that they saw a few that were very close to the story they're telling us. I'm 100% that one theory I saw is true because everything make sens, but there is no confirmation so I'm not spreading fake rumors like this is the story and nothing else. If you want to see good theorys videos you can check Second Breakfast club ( my fav. theory I really think she is very close to the real story.) and Just Ally's her theorys are very popular.

The guy(J-HOPE) is in a set with carnival things because his mother abandoned him there with only a snicker bar... he tries keeping the door closed so that he wouldn’t remember the day his mom left him, but he ends up laying on a pile bc it’s all in his head. The guy(V) is in a room with phones because the phone gives him memories of when he couldn’t call RM to tell him that he had killed his father. There are phones all over because that is his weakness. The guy(Jimin) is in a room with a sink because he accidentally hurt a girl and he tried to get all the blood out of his hands. Which is why lots of water get in a room with him in it. The guy(Suga) is in a room with fire because when he was younger his mom died while his house was on fire and the only thing that made it was a piano, which is why he starts playing it(in memory of his mother). The guy(RM) was in a room with the things you hold on when standing in a bus(I don’t know what they’re called). He was there because in the same bus with a girl that he really liked but she was asleep and he wanted to give her the hair tie she owned. He just left it on her bag and never saw her again. The guy(Jin) was holding a flower that was in a glass case because he was imagining that the flower was a girl he liked. The first chorus part was when there’s kind of like an explosion and everything flew. Right before the second pre chorus, it showed that the flower was no longer there because he had failed to protect “her”. The guy(Jungkook) kept looking at what every single member was doing because he wasn’t being a good kind of friend and everyone was beginning to get sad while he knew about it. Which is why the two waterfalls go in the room with Jimin, Suga begins to burn up, and J- Hope gets drowned in his memory of when his mom left him with the Snickers bar. I am 90% accurate about this. This is not real events btw... it’s just so that they can tell a story about 7 guys who were once best friends. It is very sad...

Someone said that their basic message is "never" about romantic love, but more about relationship with Army, and parts of themselves they don't know well, because of the public image they live in so much. 3 I much prefer the theory that Jungkook has mostly known the idol, persona lifestyle, and was protected by his hyungs. He is free to move about, and has been getting glimpses of them, closed up in their personal, small rooms (minds), trying to deal with their shadows, insecurities and painful confusions. He starts wondering if there is part of himself he hasn't acknowledged, and when the released smeraldo flower petals are gone, the way is opened up for him to encounter that, and perhaps ? some say, experience what Jin was dealing with. 4. The flower in the glass container, in the very 1st seconds of the mv, is a smeraldo flower, like the ones Jin was trying to get for "the girl" he was interested in, and tried to conform to what she had in her diary. They appear in various mv's. Supposedly, the flower language meaning of the fictional smeraldo flower is, "THE TRUTH THAT COULDN'T BE TOLD", which is a message that also shows up in various forms, and a song name. I think Jin wants to protect his secret from the rest, but the case breaks & when the petal shadows fly away from JK's hands, he goes thru a passage/knowledge that opens up.

The flowers jin has, has 6 flowers which represent other members. ...but you are missing out a lot" I think you are getting some things mixed up. The BU seems to have at least 3 main FLOWER THEMES going on, 1. White stargazer lilies, like the ones in whichever video has a dispirited looking Suga sitting on a chair, with a very large picture of 2 of them to the side of him (was it after JK died ? -- I'm fuzzy on that). In '''I NEED U'' (19+), at 1:43, it also looks like the 6 white petals that Jin places on the floor, are stargazer petals. 2. in an interview rm had explained how you have to let go of fake love in order to really love yourself and in the lyrics it shows how they realize it's fake love and they're getting away from it. I'm bad at explaining but i hope it helps!

Fake love is about how they all try a lot but they don’t get peace. Jungkook (the one that was running when the floors dropped) he watched over all of them and they knew he was watching, but everything they try they can’t find love or peace, like when Jin was trying to protect the flower in the house, but it turned to sand. At the end, they didn’t find peace so they were just sad inside so some of them just stood there and were happy to die since they didn’t get any love and no peace. That place that jungkook went through, it was for him and his love and peace and his wish was to be with his other friends, and when he went through, he saw his suit that he put on to hide his sadness and he joined his friends in the extended MV. My theory is that the song is about BTS’ fan base the ‘ARMY’. I think that “mold a pretty lie for you” basically means that they have to put on a mask of sorts, and lie about their feelings or well being. “Love it’s so mad” I think means that they love the ARMY so much that it drives them mad. I think that the phone turning into sand represents how they are constantly being shown to people through devices, having most of their lives blasted around the world, though there are certain things that us fans are not allowed to know. “Try to erase myself and make me your doll” they have to completely redo themselves. They have to forget about who they once were to become these perfect idols with no problems, who only live to entertain. have a few more things to say but I’m too lazy to type it out, but I hope this makes it more clear? This is only a theory, I’m not saying that this is correct, it’s just my opinion.

I’m so happy to hear you guys say they deserve it because they sure as hell do. They have been through much and they work so hard. Korean idols train hard core, they can’t date, they are put on strict diets, strict regulations and most importantly they are not allowed to see family during their training. It is crazy. The reason people respect them is because when they first started out, everyone doubted them, but they pushed each other to their own limit and now look at them ❤️

Okay so this is indeed a storyline, that goes way back to 2014 if I'm not mistaken to the I need you +19 music video, there are lots of symbolism that connect with all previous storyline MVs, one example the Snickers bars, one of the members got abandoned by their mother at a carousel (watch the room the 2nd rapper is in) and she left him a Snickers bar. (Of course this is a fictional storyline but it is inspired by their past struggles)

04:00 Yes, RM is pretty fluent in English (the only one out of the guys, that's why he's leading all the interviews when they're in America). He studied in New Zealand for a few months but he was very young back then, I think 12 or 13. He mainly learned to speak English by watching the series FRIENDS in English. Also his mom apparently made him watch the news on CNN and BBC all the time :D Now you might ask how someone accomplishes fluency in a language just by watching a sitcom and the news. Well, RM, our beloved reflective thoughtful creative group leader, who also writes wonderful lyrics and composes many of BTS' songs, alongside other BTS members and producers, has an IQ of 148. So he's highly intelligent. And a clumsy little dork :D He breaks everything but we love him for it :D

Please reread the lyrics with this thought, you will see from where I come from with this. The MV + this song is a complete masterpiece

RM is actually among those rare people who speak English perfectly through acquisition. He did not study it in America or anything, but through watching F. R. I. E. N. D. S

No one really knows what it means. All of BTS mv's connect and have a huge fictional storyline. Its very complex and so much thought, and time (Im talking years)went into it. I cant really explain, you just have to experience it for yourself. To even begin to understand you have to watch 'I Need U' mv, 'Run', the Butterfly prologue, young forever, all 7 short films, the highlight reels, blood sweat and tears, euphoria, singularity and the list goes on. But yeah the theories are way too complex to fully understand, but if you truly want to get into the theories and everything, your gonna have to watch the videos I listed. Edited: Also if you decide to get into the theories, remeber the burning piano and the room that blew up where suga was in, the water flowing into the room where Jimin was, and also the pile of snickers JHope was laying in. These are just a few things that connect to previous mvs, like the short films etc. The sand I think represents the sands of time, so time ran out for jungkook. In Previous videos we see that Jin might be dead and made a deal with the devil ( blood sweat and tears mv we see this ) to go back and prevent the other members from getting hurt and stuff. There is alot to it, I could right a ten page essay on all this tbh and I'll be surpised if you take the time to read this long ass comment, but I suggest getting to know the memebers names first.

damn you guys don’t know about the previous story stuffs but you still figured out that much? great job! wanna make a follow up vids on theories? or maybe stream it? i would definitely sign up for that loll anyway here’s some help from me ---- So after watching 1000 times i've noticed RM: Callback to his reflection theme with the mirrors, he sees another version of himself through the mirror, it looks weird intentionally it’s like he doesn’t even recognise himself in the mirror anymore it’s the hardest for him to accept himself because of his poor background as you can see from his surroundings (old carts and bus handles) it is the same bus from love yourself highlight reels...? Jin: The flower turned into sand despite him trying so hard to protect it from everything going to ruins, after it turned into sand, Jin wasnt shown anymore. Jungkook found it later on. Jimin: He is still in the dance room from the love yourself highlight reel, it is just painted (with the sweeper thingy and the bucket) it is the painting back from lie. V: There are empty photo frames everywhere around him, the phone monitors glowing saying "save me" (it's I'm fine when it's upside down) and ofc the obvious big one at the end of the hall. He saw a text, probably from her lover and was struck with an unbelievable face. (THEORIES)...maybe his girl back from the highlight reel still got arrested, since she stole again? Or something worse? Suga: He has a guitar beside him, which belongs to his girl back in the Highlight Reel. Well then he broke it lol. The windows were all banned up, keeping him from the fire (THE URGE TO DESTROY???). But he has just given up, so he just sets fire to the banned up fireplace, smiling to his relapse to his past self destructive behaviour, he just cant care anymore. Hoseok: Besides the obvious snickers (his placebo?) there are the ruins of the amusement park from where he was abandoned by his mom in the highlight reel around him...The room he so desperately tried to get in was just another room of other addictions, except it's not drugs, but still, addicted (TO THIS FAKE LOVE??) Jungkook: Oh well our dear maknae...He is in Jin's corridor back in Awake, he can see everyone through banned windows (suga's), the window on the floor that connects to Jimin's dance room etc. It is just like how Jin can seemingly see everyone's situation going to shit from opening the curtain in previous videos. (JIN's ROOM IS AN ORACLE ROOM?!) Jungkook seemingly took Jin's place to keep everyone happy (AND DEALING WITH THE DEVIL) after he found Jin's ashened flower... THEORIES??

So RM is reflection ,Jimin is water the reason why jimin is water is because through out the last album water all ways get the best of him so that why he he turn the water off and why all the water came out of the vents because in the album "Run" he died do to water he drown himself in the tub then in the album "Love yourself her he was outside in the pouring rain and he had the umbrella so that why he got back the umbrella in the trailer. Then J-Hope is snickers because his mother abandoned him at young age and the only thing she life him was a snickers so that why all the snickers was every where ans she left him they where at a amusement park so that why when he was in the room all the rides and toys was in that room.Then Suga got two story the first reason why Suga smile at the fire cause in Run he was trying to kill himself was because his mother died in a fire but some save him. And then the second story was in the trailer he trade in a lighter I believe was because he use to smoke and the magic man gave him back a sucker was because in "Love your self Her" a girl had took the cigarettes and gave him the sucker that Suga story.I really don't know RM story but all I know is that he is reflection but in the trailer I knew what happen cause he trade a piece of a mirror and got back a hair tie I don't know what the mirror have to do with it but in the album "Wings" he have his own solo and its called 'Reflection" but I know the story behind the hair tie. Is that in the album " love your self her " he was watching this girl from a distance and one day they both was on the bus together and she was sleep and he took her hair tie.I don't know Jungkook story at all so I am confuse with why he got the key.Then Jin he is sad cause his girlfriend died in front of him she was hit by a car and that why the flowers is being showed through out the story line in "RUN" cause he had some flower and was about to give them to her but she died that Jin story and that why he trade in the flower petal in the trailer to 'Love yourself tear".Then V story is that he killed his father in "Run" and his sister took the fall in "Love yourself her" that why he have the mask. The reason why he killed his father was because he use to beat him and his sister when they was young so that why in "wings he had his own solo "Stigma" and he was saying that he was sorry for letting her take the blame. Skip Cypher 1 though, it's not bad, but it's not up there with the other cyphers. Also, do check out 'Outro: Tear', it's basically cypher 5 and imo the best rapline song.
