This mv and song is dedicated to the Sewol Ferry accident happened on 2014 in south korea where the Ferry named SEWOL sank and a lot of teenagers who went to celebrate their high school graduation in that ferry are killed and missing, the survivors are small compared to those who died and missing, and the biggest reason on why the survivors are really small is because of the fucked up government system especially South Korean President that was caught injecting botox at the salon when this happened and not giving any orders for their navys/armys to save them. Many survivors are survived because of the help of fisherman near the location where the ferry sank. The incident is one of the biggest scandal in South Korea, netizens are protesting, the nation are in grief, they blamed the government for their selfish mistake that took the life of their children. BTS brought this issue in such a respectful manner but also reminding netizen of the biggest mistakes people in those high positions have done. This song is the Queen that always climbs up on chart everytime. It's basically national anthem of Sewol Ferry accident.

@@curvytangerine South Korean television news plays Spring Day on the day of Sewol Ferry Accident remembrance every year since it's release. Most sewol ferry news used Spring Day as background song eversince the song comes out, if it's just fan theory the media and television executive wouldn't play this every year on Sewol Ferry memorial day. a music critique once decipher this mv&song too. they all know about the matter and they know BTS was aiming for this topic even befofe Spring Day was out. It was once a big issue in SK's media if you remember, early 2017 netizen had talked about Spring Day even before the song was out. It may be a sensitive topic, but it was not a secret. everyone knows.

many songs that are not specifically about a certain topic are used and loved by the public in association with that topic. songs about loss are very powerful. if you can provide a reliable source about anyone "knowing BTS was aiming for this topic even before Spring Day was out," that would be one thing. I'm not talking about netizens. that's still conjecture. and look, conjecture isn't a bad thing; art means different things to different people (sometimes very powerful things, and sometimes on a national scale), and art should absolutely be used for things like comfort and remembrance. if BTS or BigHit makes a statement at any point that the Sewol Ferry Incident is what inspired Spring Day, then I will gladly accept that explanation. I also accept fans telling newer BTS listeners that many people *associate* this song with the Incident or have related theories/assumptions about its meaning. but nothing beyond that. I know the Incident wasn't something that could easily be spoken about and therefore many were looking for hidden messages. however, at the end of the day, we cannot put words in BTS's mouth, and the music video and song have explanations that easily exclude anything concerning the Sewol Ferry. it's misleading to tell new fans that this is a) an explanation that is a hard fact, and b) the only explanation. it's simply not so.

To add on, the book "the ones who walk away from omelas" is about people who leave in paradise on a train for eternity because one person is suffering for the rest

  • @azalea9
    @azalea95 жыл бұрын

Its based on a short story called “those who walk away from omelas” where a utopian society thrives with the tragedy of only 1 person suffering. Those who walk away from this utopia are those who refuse to turn an eye blind. There was a train accident that happened in korea few years ago, where more than 200 students died and the gov refused to acknowledge it. And in turn so did korean culture. This song is a mirror to that, and the ones who are suffering because of those loved ones who happen to be gone. Shoes like that means death and in some retrospect rebirth. Bts is basically saying that they refuse to turn a blind eye to sadness and suffering even if they themselves are hurting so that they can finally turn the page and begin a new day or a spring day. So that they can heal. In turn they are encouraging others to do the same.

Idk if you guys know this yet, but BTS has a fictional universe and a storyline that spans across music videos and short films. It's very intricate and there are sooooo many theory essays on wtf is going on in the story. There are videos on youtube that compile essentially all the videos of the storyline into one movie length video. If you guys decide to watch the story, I'd be really excited to see how you guys interpret the confusing-ass symbolism. Especially in the Wings short films. Y'all like art direction and symbolism? Those will be such a treat. You REALLY have to pay attention. There's details that show up in several times across videos, whether it's a symbol that's on a wall, or a motif of one of the characters. It's really goddamn cool. I recommend reading some of the theories as you come up with your own, to compare and contrast, and maybe notice things you might have missed.

I remember that in an interview bts said that spring day is dedicated to "Their friends an people's friends" that's why it says "I miss you" because friends come and go. Their all friends and when their alone it just says I miss you kind of words. And when they come all bad things go away... winter will go away and spring days will come.

I'm not completely sure, but I heard that Spring Day was about a ship crashing (sinking). And how it killed the majority (which were kids)- after reading this, I noticed how they were kinda dressed like children (especially Jimin- pink haired guy). And I think the "I miss you, I want to see you" were the thoughts of the parents towards the kids or vise versa. I forgot what the huge stack of clothes represented lol. And "You Never Walk Alone" is the name of the album (pretty sure there's a deeper meaning, obvi). And the shoes at the end were like a (can't find the right word) but it's for the death of someone. In this case, the death of who knows how many children. PS, also heard that it was the South Korean Government that lead the death (especially when they didn't send the military to save them) the ones that survived were bc of fisherman near the sinking

This song is inspired by a true story. basically in 2014, 400 students went to an island in korea by boat. but the ship sank. At first, the crew told all students to stay on the ship because it was quite cold outside, but some students who were afraid to be on board managed to escape. More than 300 students who were still aboard were declared dead, while students who escaped from the ship were found safe. what disappointed everyone about this tragedy was, when the savior arrived, what they saved was the captain and crew, while the students on the ship died slowly. Thank you for BTS who made this song 🖤

Hey I love y’all reactions and the fact that you’re even trying to decipher the meanings of the lyrics and video tells a lot. This video and song has a deep meaning to it. It’s about missing your loved ones. More so the video and the choreography is like a tribute to the lives lost from the Sewol Ferry sinking. I would say watch the theory video for spring day to get a better understanding. I love seeing y’all actually taking the time out to get your own theory behind it. It makes it more interesting. its nice to see you guys pausing and deciphering the videos so just keep that up, as for the video itself its left to the interpretation of the viewer, but it does serve as a tribute to the ferry incident that had happened, and the shoes were a symbol for all the lives lost that couldn't grow into adults. the lyrics are exactly what they mean in terms of missing your loved one and hoping the pain all got soon

I always listened to this song after my friend took her own life and was having a hard time coping with her being gone. also always listened to this when social services ripped my boyfriend out of my arms. the uncertainty of not knowing when I would see him next. "how many sleepless nights, to see you, to meet you." it really hit home. this song helped me through so much and knowing the background to this song made me cry even harder. I actually tattooed this on my arm. im really glad to see BTS' music traveling beyond the language barriers and countries! much love and love the FOSQUAD!!

These scenes (including the beach) were shot in the winter. The boys were FREEZING! The song was written following a very tragic ferry accident in South Korea. Many died. It's about missing friends and looking forward to meeting the again. Until then, it's enduring a long, long winter until that beautiful spring day when they are reunited. Some of the scenes are almost tedious in nature. For example, waiting for laundry to dry, going 'round and 'round the stairs. They live through daily life and special occasions but there is always a hint of heartache. The never-ending train ride is a nod to the S Korean movie, "Snowpiercer". The world had frozen over and the survivors of humanity rode a train that would circle the world each year. You guys did great! As for watching or commenting, do what you do. I like that your pauses (when you do) are pretty organic. You get caught up as each notion catches you.

Guys. This video is like a year and half old but I am new to this channel and the fact that you're not only react to the mv but also analyzing the whole thing is just incredible. Thanks to you guys now I love more Spring Day than I used to like before because I never thought about anything you said about the song and the mv !!! ♥ And I also think that the songs have different meanings too, and that's why it is beautiful.

Love your reaction! So on point. Spring Day was made in dedication to a true tragedy that happened in Korea. A ferry sunk a whole high school class and the song that talks about “I miss you” but also reminds the survivors, family and friends who lost loved ones and are going through remorse and tragedy that “You never walk alone” and for those that are going through cold and bitter “winter” that “spring” is on its way.

Just finished watching all your bts reaction videos and I loved how you always look in details since singularity. I can also feel your genuine reactions and as I look at it you're becoming a fan. Thanks fam! Anyway from what I've read (since i wasn't a fan when it was released) spring day is bts' tribute to the family of those died in a tragic incident in korea. I think it's a shipwreck were lot of young people(students) died.

It’s frustrating that they’re not getting it but like I don’t blame them and it’s funny as hell that they come up with random but “actually makes sense in a way if you look it into their perspective” ideas and that’s really dope. I’m binge watching all your Kpop reactions and I’m loving it! You nice keep going.

I know I'm all late and stuff but I noticed this a lot back when there were a lot of reactors doing spring day regarding the shoes at the end. In most areas hanging up shoes in high places likes trees and wires is a symbol of morning someone who's died, its especially impactful when it's the person who's passed shoes. I saw a lot of these growing up and had gotten curious about so asked around and this is what they told me. When I watched this MV as well as the explanation in made my heart hurt so much more because of the deep emotional scar that some families probably went through during the ferry accident.(Great video I originally saw one of ur most recent and decided to go back in the past and watch them from there hence my lateness lol)

For me Spring day is kind of the song for inspiration, sadness, calmness, peace, emotions, heartbroken, long distance, mourning, hopes and comforts. This song never ceases to make me emotional. This song speaks to my heart and my soul, not to mention the cinematic masterpiece of the mv tho 🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸🌸. I love your reactions about any bts stuff. I mean, you aren't kpopers, so you don't know a lot of things about it and not even the members of the groups. But even if it's like that, you pay attention to every little detail and the efforts that may took to do it. You price the talent that can be seen in it. And you TRY to understand what you're watching. You think deeply about the meanings that may or may not have every scene and lyrics. Idk I'm proud of you guys. And actually you are the first video reacters that I follow AND watch all the videos. Because you're proffessionals about it. And IDK WHY AM I CRYING 😂😂 BYE

You will not please everyone so don't try. Do you, have fun with it and we will too! I'm a mom of college students and consider myself ARMY since 2014. This is my secret life. I watch your reactions because you guys take time to dissect each one and you're funny. I appreciate your interest and support of BTS.
