Wonderful, wonderful, wonderful video. I love this video. Your explanation of why we do what we do is invaluable. I have noticed that other youtube videos, however good they are, tells what to do and does not explain why we need to do that way. Your explanation of why and how to introduce ragas in relation to the introduction of characters in TV serial makes it very easy to understand and internalize one of the important aspects of Raga. As usual, this is a GREAT instructional video. Please keep on teaching us and spreading your knowledge. Thank you so very much. God bless you and stay Blessed!!

Very informative video Sir. I'm learning flute from an year and so. 2 days before I was struggling with blowing and swaras were not coming properly. My guruji suggested me to sit straight, I tried and it worked like a charm. Also thank you very much to take time from your schedule and making such valuable videos. With such information many people can learn indian classical music even at remote locations, as good faculties are available at very few palaces. Please keep spreading knowledge.

Most difficult task is to teach someone how to think. Beautifully explained. The feminine and masculine Ga explanation is sublime. When one forgets 'i', the Godly 'I' shines through. Am sure your recital at Albert Hall did that. Do share clips if possible. 'Basanti' comment was hilarious.

Other Folks will simply teach to take the notes from raag and make duos, triplets, etc and play them like alankars. But no one has explained it like YOU. Musical notes appearing on a stage like actors! and then give them attitude/emotions!!! That anology is simply mind blowing.....💥😇😇 DO YOU KNOW HOW COOL YOU ARE?!

I very rarely subscribe to any channel and I did for this one. I think Ashwin has a modern take on playing classical. He is an amazing story teller. Its an awesome comparison he found between meeting new people and alaap. I've heard that same gist a million times from other pandits before but no one ever said it in a way that sticks and more importantly a method that can be actually applied easily! kudos. Now that I praised you enough, a real question: what can you bring to this art that we haven't seen before? How do we upgrade this timeless classical to a classical+ if you will? I am not talking about the tacky fusion stuff, throw in some drums and call it a day, no! But talking abt a real reform and a point of view. A philosophical shift. I get a lot of debate on this from other classical fans, they are adamant that classical is timeless and not to be messed with. I appreciate that but I also think they are too lazy to see beyond what they accepted to be true. I think a flavor of it could be tailored to modernism and produce real inspiration that can be subscribed to by millions. The real qn is if an artist (someone like you perhaps) will brave their career on it? :) Like vincent van gough did for impressionism and more locally like RDBurman and AR rehman did for movie scores. Story telling is the biggest part of any change and you have that gift.
