Brute Force 750 Carb clean

Автокөліктер мен көлік құралдары

This is a DIY video of how I clean a Carburetor on a Kawasaki Brute force 750. The one in the video is a 2006 model but this would be the same process on the 2005 thru the 2007 models.

Great video thanks. Was looking for a breakdown of the jets and smaller pieces. I’m having a lot of backfiring back up the rear carb on load so hoping that having the airbox off is part of my problem!

I just took my carbs off my 2007 KBF 750 and tore them down I noticed that on the side of each carb is what looks like an Accelerator pump (looked back on ur video and noticed the same thing) I took the cap off of one it has a spring and a pump? So my question is do I take it apart and try and clean it of let it go Didn’t get anything like that in the carburetor rebuild kit I got Any advice would b greatly appreciated

I never had trouble with one of those before but it doesn't hurt to take it apart and wipe it clean.

I got a question, I just recently completely flipped my KBF 750 at the gator trail run. I cleaned out the oil to take all the nasty oil mixed with mud off. And I tried turning it on and it sounds like it wants to turn on but it doesn’t. Is this a carb cleaning problem? I’m new at this stuff.

    Try adjusting your valves.

I got my 04 twin 650 heads ported and polished and it pops through the carbs now, do you think I need to rejet it cause of the porting, or is there other thinhs I can check that you would to try and find the problem, I appreciate your time and advice, tks and God bless

Could be the carb but more than likely it is the valves not closing all the way during the compression stroke. Check your valve clearance one more time.

@@FourwheelerDoctor i should also.note a rad relocate yes, and i did it the lazy way and didnt pull chokes and linkages like you did, i merely flipped the carb and did the cleaning and jet work on top.of.the bike. This.may have been a very dumb simple cheat in efforts to.save time. Screws are at 2.5 turns out. Some have said go.to 3, may fab a tool to.try that without.pulling it all.off again. Thanks.so.much for.your help.

My Brute force 2008 650 is idled very high. The idle adjustment screw is back off all the way. I loosened the throttle cable but it still idles high. When I put it in gear and not touching the throttle it goes 8 mph. It runs fine and idles fine other than idled high. I just rebuilt the engine and got it running. The carbs where leaking gas out the adjustment screws so I did clean it and replace the needle and the adjustments screw o rings and set it with the adjustment screws 2.5 turns out. The gas leak is fixed now. I did not mess with diaphragms. Do you have any ideas what I need to do or check?

Make sure the throttle cable is installed correctly at the carbs. Sounds like it might be off.

Thanks. I found that the throttle cable sleeve with threads is broke where it attaches to carburetor. I’m ordering a new cable.

Howdy. Have you ever had to repair the "Vacuum valve", which is the small cover with 2 screws (round) that has the diaphragm in it. It's PN 92145, located here: www.kawasakipartshouse.com/oemparts/a/kaw/500b36c3f8700223e4794bd2/carburetor-parts-2-3 (lower left side of carb pic). My problem is, bought the bike used, and now tearing into the cards which sucked water and dirt into it. The carb had been gone through before and I have to replace those diaphragms and rebuild kit. Problem is, the meathead who worked on mine, a BF 650, didn't put all the parts back in and that Vacuum valve is missing the o-ring, per the pic. I can't figure out if the o-ring goes between the valve and the spring, per the pic. Thoughts? I am going to have to replace every screw on this carb, which I believe is a Keihin CVK 40. Highway robbery for what the dealer wants for screws! I got the atv very cheap, but it's frustrating why they use screw heads on these carbs. TIA!

Sounds like you have a mess. When you remove the cover for the diaphragm, there will be the large hole for the diaphragm then a smaller hole off to the side. The ring goes in the smaller hole. If you look at the shape of the diaphragm cover, the small o ring will go under the port that sticks off the cover.
