    Hey there info on that Spectre air filter…So here’s the scoop…I had an on3 70mm kit on my 09 3v…Ran about 9psi (had a grimm speed manual boost controller)…Anywho, everything was perfectly fine until about 6 months down the road…I had the exact same spectre filter as yours…While cruising about 70mph on the freeway, I heard a slight ‘pop’ followed by a quick whining noise and slight rattle….I instantly pulled over and popped the hood…I didn’t notice anything right away but while diving deeper…The godamn metal top piece of the filter (size of a half dollar) got sucked into my turbo and shredded the hell out of the fins…I had to replace the entire cold side of the turbo…True story so be careful with that filter.

    Nice video! I’m doing a budget gt500 clone using an 05’ GT. It’s a 5 speed manual with a Hurst short-throw shifter, 4:10 gears, and CAI with a 91 tune. On 3 seems the cheaper route than sourcing a blower and lower manifold that will fit the 4.6 3V, but we will see with time which one will end up on the 3V.

    Good luck with the build. I’m a fan of clone builds. It’s a good kit overall. I’ve had a blast with it so far. I do love superchargers but this turbo has really pulled me to the boosted side.

    Yeah, the turn signal and intercooler issues might be specific to 2010. the coolant pipe is an issue with the 2005-2006 because they have a different crossover. but good walkaround of the kit. I ran a dumped downpipe like you have for awhile, then just removed that pipe coming over from the wastegate for a little clearance. now i have a front bumper exit and the wastegate just dumps out. My biggest issue is the space on the piping going through the control arm, my stuff still rattles all the time.

  • @gkman815
    @gkman8153 ай бұрын

    im gonna guess you lost the blinker cause that kit is designed for the 05-09 one instead of the 10. the older ones had turn signals down in the bumpers instead of in the head light housing

Doesn’t look like I can put their headers on till it’s in the car.(clearance). Really gonna suck ass I feel like. You had to lift the engine to do it?
