This Hikaru game made me think about what Naroditzki said about playing against him, that it was frustrating because every beautiful line that you think it's winning you realize that at the end of the line there is a perfectly placed piece that makes it useless. And it's exactly like that, Alireza thought for an hour and a half for that endgame but every single idea is useless because of insanely perfectly placed pieces

I don't know, feels like he played a ton of prep, had a massive time advantage and couldn't convert. Hikaru is only the third or fourth best player in the tournament. It feels like Alireza isn't there yet. How many prep bombs does he have left? This one was expertly handled.
