true, I remember him playing a game vs komodo in a closed position like this and I think he won
The closed position technique was masterfully executed. Hikaru has special strategies against engines and though others might get lucky in a blind spot, he methodically out plays these lofty opponents. My feeling is he preps for everything far beyond appreciated. Even his speedruns. True chess professional. Heroic content.

That Botez Gambit remark had never dying 😂😂
That was a really interesting last game, with the very closed position. Seems like with no obvious options for the bot, Hikaru's human ability to have a long strategy like that is simply superior to what this bot could figure out.
Although he's a GM, Hikaru's ability to analyze every single move, in-depth, to the 't', is absolutely awe-inspiring. Truly inspirational and can be learnt a lot by the first game alone

The rook can be taken forcing you to move the king and only having a knight against a rook.

Mittens rook on F8 would simply take Hikarus rook on F3. The king would have to take it, and mittens could just move the rook on C5. Then it would be a knight vs a rook, clearly losing for Hikaru.
Hikaru...I affronted Anish Mittens myself and it destroyed me however i was beating but he stalemated me so a draw is better of something! :)

@@dany9007 The best I can think of is Nd7, Re3+, Kg2, Rxf2+, Kxf2, Rb3, Ke1, he wins the b2 pawn and promotion --> b4, axb4, a3, Nd3, Rb1+
The stare in the beginning of the video shows how hikaru was angry at mittens the angry looking cat
Sacking the rook and it being the best move at that moment is so was funny to me
Not being a native English speaker, at first it was harder for me to follow Hikaru, but once I got used to it he's become my favorite even better than Levy, and whether he slows down for us to follow him better or I became more attuned to his speech, in any case his content is very educational and entertaining. 👍

Not saying I know better but at 9:22 there was a fork of the rooks. Knight D7, Rook F3 check, King F3, and then its black to play whilst white has pressure on the black rook on c5. After black moves (anywhere, wouldn't matter), the Knight can go to B6 and help or sacrifice itself for the pawns

They can trade rooks with a check- after knight d7 there is rxf3+ (check), forcing a trade. After the rook on e5 can move away and obviously the rook will beet the knight in the endgame.
