What a nice and complete video for someone just about to buy one of these, really clear comparisons. I started getting a bit hooked on those racing style buggies again, but I just (over) spent my budget on a Tamico haul, nothing special, just a bit of Tamiya parts, ha ha!

Ha ha, Mads! I know it! Usually my Tamico hauls, with just bits and parts, drain my entire RC budget so I haven’t got anything left for new cars 😅 it’s sometimes amazing how the price for a box full of mainly 5-20 euro parts gets astronomical high at check out 😊

Great video! You should make the next one have metal music in it like your WLToys 124019 v.s. 124017 video! I LOVED that video. There's just something special about these little cars, especially when there's some heavy tunes in the background! Keep up the great work. 👍

Hiya Mikael. Ooh I was going to say definitely the brushless one is best but that transmitter delay is too annoying. It's odd as they look the same. A duff unit maybe? Are you going to fix that fan?

If you can find a similar brushless system for the 104001, replace the 5 wire servo to a 3 wire servo and a good transmitter with separate receiver… they both would be even in terms of performance.

Hi Nick. Yeah, basically the same car besides the electronics. Not entirely sure if the spur and pinion is different too though.

Hi there and excellent side by side comparison brushless vs brushed. The transmitter delay, did you work out where the delay was coming from? You show the transmitter being paired to the delayed one, so I assume it was the ESC? Take care and best wishes to you and the family 😊😉😁

Hi John! Thank you! Definitely the transmitter itself. Both receivers and ESCs’ seem fine. The delay is only there when they are bound to the new Transmitter version with the blue wheel. It should have better range though, or so they say, but it also seems it’s coming with a new (and worse) problem . Best to you and yours too John !

Thats why I went with the 104001 roller & upgraded carbon top deck brace, better fitting own electrics & radio for a much faster & better driving experience than the brushless 104002 rtr.

My 104001 replace the 14t 550 motor with an Injora 20t 540 motor. It’s already performed slightly better than the default motor even on stock gearing.

When you jump the brushless version it looked like it had a very unbalanced wheel because it just wobbled a lot.

Hi bro. No, nothing to do with gearing or cogging issues. It can be eliminated with another radio.

I think your better off with the brushed version, the brushless one is pretty lackluster unless it accepts 3s lipo? I ordered mine for $160 all in and that's Canadian dollars too! So I think it would be more cost effective on performance per dollar to buy brushed and a cheap 60amp combo from Amazon for 50 bucks and that would probably do wonders! but that only applies if you have extra receivers u can throw in as u loose the receiver with that 2in1 crap. Or maybe if the brushless models ESC can handle a hotter motor for more power on 2s? Anyone know the specs or what brand of ESC is in those cars? The brushed model seems to have plenty of torque so maybe could handle a 2 to 3 tooth bigger pinion with no real loss in acceleration? And get much closer to brushless speeds? All things I will try and report back when mine comes in the mail in a few days! Before swapping to brushless I will definitely try a 3s lipo with a low C rating and see if that 2in1 ESC will handle it! Great buy and comparison video none the less! 👍🏼(Oh and just a tip I seen in another video, apparently the fan only runs when temps require it?)

Good points! But I also think there are other benefits from the brushless system than top speed (like battery consumption). Don’t think it needs more power or torque, for the everyday off road run. But yeah, price seems pretty steep compared to the brushed version, don’t it?

I have two 10 year olds and would like to buy them the 144001 and a better Buggy for me, bigger, brushlees, both Wltoys. Which one would you recommend for me? I don't want delay on any of the three RC's. I speak from Brazil and follow your channel!

Would be nice to have more room for a bigger battery, I've noticed🤔

Great video! Yes, wltoys used brushless ESC are crap! Brushed versions are cheaper and still better because of good throttle responsivenes.

Yeah, would be a good cheap combo. Not sure it would produce more speed but definitely no latency.
