WLToys 104002 Brushless Speed test! 1/10 4WD High Speed RC Car Buggy

First Run & Top Speed Test! Can the WLToys 104002 actually do 60 kph, as specified by WLToys? And do this first brushless version of the WLToys 104001 have the same cogging issues as the first brushless version of the WLToys 124019? Let's find out!
The WLToys 104002, 104001 and the SkyRC GSM-015 and GSM-020 were all kindly provided by Banggood, free for review and tests. You can check out the technical specifications and current prices with these (affiliate) links:

----------------------
So the conclusion: There is no cogging issues and the top speed is actually very close to the specified 60 kph.
One issue is of course the links that keep popping out in roll overs, flips, landings. A bit annoying but it might save some broken parts. It's an issue that is present in all these WLToys 1/14, 1/12 and 1/10. I solved it with an upgrade on the 144001, which you can find in the channel video list.
Another issue is a slight delay from the transmitter. The delay is not a cogging issue. The new WLToys version 2 transmitters with the blue wheel seem to be causing this. More about that in an upcoming video!
But for now: It's nothing that will take the fun out of a normal run, like this in the video. It's barely noticeable when just out having fun. But of course, if you want to use it as a racer and have perfect control in jumps and corners, where the milliseconds matter, you might wanna change the transmitter.

    That is an excellent RC car! I like the fact that things can be clipped on after they loosen, instead of them bending or breaking, what a smart way to do things! 👍

    Hi! Yeah, well, it would be even better if the turnbuckles didn’t pop off and everything didn’t bend/brake either ☺️

    Hi there Mikael, a fantastic looking buggy, courtesy of Banggood. Along with a very technical GPS speed meter. A really good test of the buggy, looked like it is was fun and does exactly what WLToys say. Excellent video as usual, great work. Take care and best wishes to you and the family 😊😉😁👊🏼

    Hi John! Yeah, good stuff from Banggood I think. It’s a cool little buggy with a lot of speed. Take care my good mate!

    Yeah, the "Super Fast" sticker definitely helped it, it sure is a fast buggy! Bummer with the ball joints, they pop out already on a new buggy, but I guess you can live with popping them back on again, ha ha. Nice video for a Sunday afternoon, hung over with a nice Monday anxiety, I do love watching some great KZread content!

    Hi Mads! Yes, without the sticker it would have been super slow 😅 And yeah, those ball joints is a bit annoying. But I guess in serious crashes it will help a bit. Monday is here now! Uhh 😬

    Hi Mikael and thanks for another very entertaining video! Lovely crisp and colourful images, too. Well done to WLToys for being honest about the top speed. On another day and another battery, it might just hit 60, but it's close enough for me. The turnbuckles keep pooing off my TT02B, too, but at least its's better than a bent or broken part. I hope your Sunday is going well, my mate! :)

    Hi Mark! Thank you so much! And yeah, I do like when the specifications more-or-less matches the actual speed. More of that please ☺️ And yeah, I remember we discussed this once, long time ago. Didn’t you at one point switch them to some that was locked in, by the screw? Or maybe that was a DT-02/03. Got the TT-02B turnbuckles on my TT-02B too. The old turnbuckle upgrade for the DT-02/DF-02-03 is much better I think. They actually sit quite tight even though the same style. As long as the drive shafts are universal, I do not mind popping turnbuckles on again. Better than bend/broken shafts or arms. The trouble starts when it’s dog bones - that tend to fly off and leaves you walking around with the nose in the ground for half an hour afterwards 😂 Sunday was well. Rain rain rain. It came from the West. Bet it was English rain 😉 Hope your Sunday was pleasant too my mate

    Hiya Mikael. Great test video my friend. Does look like a decent bit of kit and pretty quick. It probably would go 60kph with the wind behind it! I was grooving on down to the music again! Hope all is well with you and yours. Best wishes 🙂

    Good video Mikael. The dog bones coming off probably saved it from more serious damage. Do you think it was designed more for racing than bashing? One thing I really don't like about it is the word "Violent" on the body. I don't think it's a very appropriate name for an RC. There's too much of that in the world already. Rant over. Enjoy your Sunday my friend : )

    Hi Derek! Yeah, a bit annoying but better than bend shafts etc. ☺️ And yeah, this is a copy of a racing buggy and together with the fact that the towers and chassis isn’t really made of the strongest metal, this is definitely not a serious basher. But in a back yard like this it will do alright too I think. And yeah, I’m not too fond of the ‘violent’ name either. But at least violent RC racing is much, much better than the real violence. Rain rain rain here this Sunday. Enjoy yours, my good friend,

    I'm with you, it's close enough. It's not like some manufacturers who claim 70kph and it does 45, if you're lucky. Different tyres and a smaller wing and it'll do 60 easy.

  • @NordicRC

    @NordicRC

    Yeah! In the “old” days WLToys added at least 10 kph to the specifications, but this is much closer. I bet with optimal running conditions and surface it might even do the specified 60 kph out of the box ☺️

    very interest is the motor is in the middle of the chassis car. in the other models the motor is in rear position of chassis . that you think about this ?

  • @NordicRC

    Does this model can be controled in the air during jumps ? It flies well, but how to control the model before adding or removing gas ? THX How about delay when you press a throtlle.

  • @NordicRC

    Yeah, the delay could be a problem with racing and jumps and accuracy. For me, a hobbyist, it's no big issue though. Still good fun.

    You being Violent, strange name for a buggy. Seems to go well, but does seem to like a smoother surface as little bumps did unsettle it. Interesting the speed runs but I think the speed units are a little expensive so never brought one. But like the Dagger today, do not know the speed but happy with how fast so do I really need to know the MPH.

  • @NordicRC

    @NordicRC

    Yeah, not the best name. For the A959-B they chose the name Headphones. I doubt they really check what the names really mean before they decide 😅 And yeah, no need to check the speed if you like the speed. I kinda enjoy doing these speed runs though. It’s fun RC time for me ☺️
