Seriously tho, anyone hating on Bruno, have you heard his music or watched him perform? He is keeping the old school flavor alive. Much of his sound and showmanship is clearly carrying the torch for the RnB/Soul/Funk of the good old days. Dude can dance, he can sing and plays several instruments. As far as new artists goes, he is the closest thing to Prince that this generation will ever have....

I know I'm late to the ball, but I have to add a story. I was driving to work one morning, listening to MD and the Time. A guy on a corner I stopped at was working on his push lawn mower. He heard the music from my open window and stood up and started dancing while looking for the source of the tunes. When he saw it was my car, he smiled and waved and kept dancing. It was one of those organic, happy, honest moments of pure joy between humans.

I love how Bruno didn't try to sing like Prince and even added horns! He gave a tribute, worthy of Prince but did not try to be him. Thanks Bruno! Without tributes, young ppl will not remember or search out THE MASTERS. I'm sure this tribute, ALONE, will cause futures to search out the REAL PRINCE! Keeping their memory alive keeps them relevant, CURRENT and ALIVE!

Me too John! I was shocked and had to play it-back Twice!! But watching Bruno reminded me how Prince romanced his guitar when he played. Go back and watch Prince play 'Purple Rain' -or- 'The Question of U' & watch how he romances that guitar when he plays!! Bruno did excellent, but that poise and passion that Prince has is unmatched!

As a huge Prince fan, I truly believe he would think this was amazing! Way to go Bruno!

The Time did an amazing job...too bad so many people in the audience were too young to appreciate what that really meant. Prince grew up with them. They really knew him. Of course, Bruno did a great job.

I’ve been watching Bruno since he was just a little kid, when he was about 5 years old. I’ve seen him in concert and hosted his after party in Hawaii. So, if anyone could pull off a tribute to such an iconic performer such as Prince, it would be Bruno Mars. I got choked up watching this video from the beginning!

Wow he did his thing..if you closed your eyes you could almost feel and think it was prince playing and making that guitar sing..Awesome job Bruno loved it

not crapping on Bruno, but there are TONS of artists that play and sing. I have the feeling you only listen to pop or R&B, because the rock and country genres are literally FLOODED with extremely talented artists that both sing and play. And again, not crapping on Bruno, but there are many in both the genres I mentioned that either equal or surpass Bruno's singing and playing talents. Now, they dont dance as well, at least not to Bruno's level, but they definitely sing/play though

Frank Sinatra was an incredible singer, but not much else. Bruno is an exceptional singer, dancer, multi-instrimentalist, really good songwriter and music producer. He's a very complete package, just like Prince was.

I LOVED this. No, its not Prince but it sure was a worthy tribute. Bruno Mars is awesome!

I love how bored the young Generation of artists look when Morris Day and the Time are performing. They don’t realize they’re watching legends. Bruno is on another level.

This was a great tribute. Why the hell was the audience so dry, except for the gentlemen doing the Walk? The Time never disappoints, and Bruno did it justice. The guitar riffs were spot on.

Bruno looks so freaking hot channelling Prince!!! Shee-it, he can make that guitar sing!!!

How much confidence does it take to get up on stage at the Grammys and try to cover Prince. Gotta give Bruno credit for even having the stones to do it. In the end, he did it justice. He's a great entertainer himself. Maruice Day and the Time, man it was great to see them again. They looked great.

WOW!! This was def something Prince can be proud of. Bruno...YOU da man!! Love the fact that he had Prince's guitar (well, look alike anyway), he wore his outfit from Purple Rain. He actually sounds like Prince. I gotta start watching more of this guy...he's REALLY GOOD!!!

Morris Day and The time sounded amazing! Now when it comes to Bruno and the hooligans, I always rewind to this particular part 6:50 - 6:57 . Such a well organized band and the fact that you see Bruno actually enjoying himself while performing, is what makes this so great!

Morris Day and The Time are a classic act a lot of people don't understand that Prince was actually pretty much the boss was in the the time group they grew up right around the corner from each other in Minneapolis I'm from St Paul from Minnesota I know the history well they were all talented together and talented individually to not too many artists can write play all kinds of drums Sing Act and dance all of these fellows could do that like I said I'm proud to be a part of the Minneapolis sound and from the state does a lot of great artists from our state that don't get the credit where credit's due but I'm glad these guys did and the time are living legends

Prince wud of stood up for this performance himself, off da chain. Real music rite here folks and I'm watching it on KZread.

Dang Bruno! That was genius. That was truly an awesome tribute.

63 yr old white guy here...sick'ern a dog, OD'ing on NyQuil and Alka Seltzer plus and this just gave me happy feet and made me feel better! Bruno Mars is Top Shelf talent. No one else could have done this. I can only imagine how many more great songs Prince would have recorded. It's a cryin' shame he's gone. I had no idea Bruno can play guitar like that!

He is one of the few artists of this generation that my ears are inclined to hear. Bruno has wide range (musically and vocally) and you can tell each song is of high quality-they can each stand the test of time on their own. Bruno's workmanship is palpable.

Prince did not like others playing his material, but I'm sure he wouldn't mind this. Much respect!

Just saw Purple Rain again night before last. Saw it in the movies as a teen in 85. One thing Prince did was always encourage other artists. He’d be proud Bruno paying tribute. People need to lighten up.

Morris Day even had Jay-Z movin. That says a lot about his and The Time’s legendary impact. Respect.

Prince would be proud at that guitar solo at the end. Well done Bruno

The time ripped it! Morris and Jerome exactly the same. You could see the generation gap. Most never heard this before . You could tell the ones that knew it, loved it and we're dancing in the isle's. They rocked it. The time was then and still is bad ass! You can't hear jungle love and remain seated.

Most fans of the late great Prince know he wasn't a big fan of people covering his music. But I think he would have been alright with this one. Bruno Mars is just as talented and if anyone would do a cover of Prince respectfully and with so much feeling it's Bruno❤
