The Boss wrote for the King? Bruce Springsteen was so inspired after watching Elvis Presley perform that he wrote “Fire” specifically for him. “I sent [Elvis] a demo of it, but he died before it arrived,” Springsteen said. The "Born to Run" singer then recorded the track himself for his 1978 album, Darkness on the Edge of Town, but it didn’t make the cut. Instead, the Pointer Sisters took the song and turned it into a Billboard chart-topper for 14 weeks in 1979.

I loved this song, and the Pointer Sisters version...but years ago Robin Williams did this song singing as Elmer Fudd and I've never been able to get it out of my head.so instead of suffering alone, i sprang it on my sister on a road trip and we bewildered our kids by singing other artist's songs as Elmer.we didn't do the whole song on this or ruin anything else by Bruce.

@JAMMYbeast Ours as in family. My sister has 2 children. I have one child. All five us were in her van on the way to take the cousins to visit their Great-Grandma. She was our Grandma, and nothing made her happier than seeing us all at the same time because she'd out-lived her children, husband, and all of her brothers and sisters by then.

I agree, cc! I don't see anything "gay" in this video...that is bullshit, I've never heard anyone refer to Bruce or his moves as gay?? Of course there wouldn't be anything wrong with it if it were true, but it just isn't there & comes off as a homophobic remark. I think Bruce & CC are way Sexy here..Wow, what moves! C'mon everyone "Vote Down" on the above remark referencing gayness & we can get it removed due to "too many negative remarks".

I love Bruce! But when he sings this the lyrics sound a little...date rape-ish. I can see why he gave it to the Pointer Sisters. I'd love to hear them perform it together live.
