I love BRS! Been watching for years! Since Ryan just sat in front of a table... this is the first time I was taken aback... kinda disappointed to see you defend the testing schedule. 4x per day minimum is so clearly more than a “minimum’. Reefing for years I know of no one that tests that frequently. I don’t mind that their product forces us to do that for a money grab, that’s their prerogative. But don’t patronize us about it... makes it hard to hard to maintain integrity when it seems like there’s money involved in your recommendation. Keep in mind, I’ve watched for years, maybe seen every video, and this is the only time I’ve gotten that vibe. So keep up the good work!

I’m a day late on this video but I can’t wait for the trident initial video. I really like those type of videos...not an unboxing but not a review...it’s honest and informal thoughts which I think is super valuable if you don’t edit out potentially negative ideas. That’s called a commercial. Good stuff coming from BRS!

If it wasn’t for the Neptune trident I wouldn’t have known I needed to start 2 part dosing, one day I realized my alkalinity was dropping FAST throughout the day, if I didn’t have the trident testing multiple times a day who knows how much it would have dropped considering I only was checking alkalinity 1 time a month manually with the Hanna checker, I just wish the “calibration solution” was better than what it is, it’s waaay off from my Hanna checkers so I just calibrate it based off my water and initial tests from my Hanna checkers instead of the calibration solution

Late but the idea that it tests so often without your control is such a money scheme. If I spend that much money on the system it should be accurate from even minimalistic testing as a normal person. If it wasn’t a good bit of money to get the solution refills it might not be a bother. It just sounds forced and not at all what a person who would want to enjoy their tank and do what they want to their tank. I wouldn’t want to be a money gimmick. Also you need to buy a new apex or updated one to use it. But I have a good question as to why not use it once then use the all reagent replacement task function. It could work to just use that to stop the testing manually if it doesn’t waste the reagents like the shutting down task does.

Do you need to have it hooked up to wifi all the time for it to work or will it work when it's not hooked up to wifi I use my mobile hotspot on my phone for wifi at home so clearly when I am not home the house has no wifi

The Apex can operate when there is no wifi, but it won't be able to send you notifications/alerts if it detects something wrong.

Dan Kommer OMG. That’s too funny and also very true. Interesting fact: A few years ago I did some very lengthy research on online sweepstakes.....I can’t remember the name of the investigation group that conducted the research but the findings were very eye opening. On average most online sweepstakes are won by East Coast and Central USA residents. The theory was that when online sweepstakes “go active” most winners or winner will come from the Eastern Time Zone. Think of it like this........ If you were watching the Super Bowl Live and the game was in California........East Coast residents will see it at a later time than folks in the West Coast and vice versa. In many cases online sweepstakes “go active” at midnight eastern time on a pre-determined day. Most of the people who enter will do so while you are still in bed asleep. Also the system that is used with online sweepstakes is very technical. Some systems use a random number that is chosen, if you sign up for a drawing your name or email is assigned a number, a computer than randomly selects a number. Or in this case Randy or another BRS rep. picked winners from an unknown/undisclosed list. All we know is that you have to be a “Preferred Reefer” but what or whom determines who is chosen......... and how are they chosen, we don’t know. Also the same with HGTV Dream Home Sweepstakes. HGTV puts all drawings into large square bins......then a random bin of X amount of drawings is chosen........then 1 winner is chosen from that bin. Also most HGTV Dream Home winners are unable to possess those homes long term. Taxes and property taxes eventually will force most winners to sell the home and end up back to square one where they started off. Something HGTV does not tell people. Basically if you want to win a Trident....... you’ll have a better chance being attacked by a Polar Bear on Monday, a Grizzly Bear on Tuesday, and a Great White Shark on Wednesday. Anyways.......it’s always nice to dream........... good luck. Personally I’ll stick with my Salifert and Hanna test kits.

Dear Neptune Sales, Operations and Planning Teams, First off, thank you for putting out a fantastic product. But I, and many others, have an issue: This is beyond ridiculous. Please just tell us when the 6 month supply of reagents will be back in stock. I understand and appreciate the COVID-19 impact, but I also work in Supply Chain and can absolutely assure you that China and other SEA countries are back up to full production. Even accounting for the fact that you're likely shipping via Ocean ( with a 1-2 month shipping time). Please stop using COVID as an excuse. You were unable to keep your supply up with demand prior to COVID and show no signs that you're getting any better. Feel free in passing this message along, or deleting, but your Supply Planning is an absolute wreck and is frankly very likely misaligned with an actual S&OP process. Or, Neptune is not capable of ramping up production capacity within their supply partners or in finding additional capacity with other partners. Your customers are losing faith and bombarding the Neptune Trident with one-star reviews because of the lack of 6 month reagents. When can we expect the 6 month pack supply to be in stock? Please do not respond with the point that the 2 month supply is in stock. That's very well known and is at a much higher cost point. Unless you'd like to sell us three of the 2 month packs for the price of the 6 month supply. Seriously, it's been over a year. Get your act together. At this point, it's just getting embarrassing. Thanks, Previously loyal, but getting frustrated customer base

I agree, My Apex Gold is good for me I am not going to pay another 1K for a new Apex 2016. Oh and I don't dare updating either as I have heard it has been crashing the older Apex Units.

Zero experience with Alkatronic and others? You are giving a review with no comparison and giving an impression you are not really interested in the others. "We don't carry the others" "you have them on your desk...I plan to get to it" WOW! This product is loaded with politics. I am getting the impression that their are a lot of "make sure you do this" (calibration is one example) with the Trident.

gareth mrstigisback neat concept, but too much automation in this hobby = dead livestock IMO. I prefer the Salifert, Red Sea, or Hanna test kits. If I ever won one.......I’d eBay it and buy more corals with the cash.
