actually all started with the bird, gradually "Kiwi" changed meaning to "New Zealand's" or "New Zealander", and of course, the fruit NZ is famous for as well

Most Likely the south island or Stewart island because that's where they are mainly found.

huh, I thought Brown Kiwis were found over both islands. I think it is probably filmed at Zealandia in Wellington on the NORTH Island simply because, they said the Kiwis were habituated to allow filming, and Zealandia is the most logical location for such things.
