  • @gcfifthgear

    @gcfifthgear

    Жыл бұрын

    Very loosely. "Life Without George" was indeed about two single women--but both were divorcees in Irene Kampen's book. The agreement CBS made to purchase the rights to "I Love Lucy" forbade Lucille Ball to continue her "Lucy Ricardo" character from the earlier shows. Changing the character's name to "Carmichael" didn't work--BUT--since Lucille Ball had just divorced Desi Arnaz, Lucy Carmichael was rewritten to become a widow...thus making Vivian Vance (as Vivian Bagley) the first divorced woman on a TV show. (E-e-e-e-e-eu-u-u-u-u-u...)
