Always a car nut, as a 14 year old I would watch Bewitched only for the Chevrolet commercials. I would lay on the floor in front of the TV waiting for the ads showing the exciting 65's. In those days the morning and evening newspapers would have full page ads for all the new cars which were introduced in September. I still remember the awe and excitement at seeing those gorgeous cars for the first time then spending endless hours in my room drawing my own versions. Now at 74 years old I crave for those exciting days.

Really sad to think of Alice Pearce 's comment "It's a marvelous age we live in", when she apparently already knew she was terminally ill as the series went into production and had not revealed her status to the rest of the cast. She was perfect for the show, too bad she didn't go longer with the series.

In the OK Used Cars ad, Skip Homeier plays the dad and Pamelyn Ferdin is his daughter. In Skip's debut film, "Tomorrow the World" (1944), he co-starred with Agnes Moorehead, who appears in the Kodak ad. Baby boomers will recognize Skip from "Star Trek" and "The Outer Limits."

To be clear, ABC did not have the affiliates that NBC and CBS had, and in smaller markets and rural areas, TV stations were joint network affiliates of NBC/ABC with NBC being the live network carried. The ABC programing would be shown in time slots where network programing was not scheduled such as afternoons. To accommodate these stations, 16mm prints would be bicycled to the stations. The 16mm prints were not the standard for network broadcasting. The network broadcast print was 35mm which provided superior picture and sound. A 16mm backup print would be running in synchronization in case of a technical problem with the 35mm air print. The 16mm prints send to the stations were actually better than this sample, which appears to be a dupe from an original TV print.

Let’s be real here-forced integration destroyed any and all feelings of safety and happiness. Now there are drive-by shootings, wreaths on every corner to mark deaths, baby mamas and baby daddies, metal detectors in schools and police assigned to every school. Does that sound like a safe and/or happy society to anyone??

@@fromthesidelines The local TV station must have done that. It was cut to make room for more commercials, or if you believe in the silly conspiracies, the logos scared little children (such as the 1965 "S From Hell" logo, which is how it got it's affectionate nickname), so the TV station promptly removed them sometimes by crudely plastering one logo over another. Channel 50 in Detroit did this many times in the late 70's with the "Flintstones" episodes. Sometimes, you got a dancing sticks logo ending, sometimes the "Field Communications" or "Kaiser Broadcasting" logos plastered them.
