Said, "I raise my hands
Bow my head
I'm findin' more and more truth
In the words written in red
They tell me that there's more to life
Than just what I can see, oh, I believe"

This evening we have the funeral services for my nephew, who passed last week after 15 month battle of cancer he was so strong into his faith. I have never been one to be religious. I like to believe that there’s a God and an afterlife but this morning as I get in my car, I turn on the radio and the song believe by Brooks & Dunn starts playing. It’s gotta be a sign for Micky saying look, I’m OK I’m not in any more pain and I’m here with Jesus. Definitely gave me comfort that was needed.

Keep believing & never ever give up. I was once in that situation & was close to giving up. I'd lost my firstborn 8 years earlier & had stuffed all of my emotions from life's prior traumas & had a nervous breakdown. When I thought of my 2nd child (who turned 7 while I was hospitalized & called her my rainbow baby because there are rainbows after every storm), I could not turn my back on her because I was not well. Nor could I do that to my parents as their rainbow baby. Now I am getting closer to my natural end of life & GOD will decide when it's time for me to go. Stay strong & live your life on the straight & narrow path ONE. DAY. AT. A. TIME. Each time you open your eyes is a great day! GOD BLESS YOU! ❤🙏

@ashleyteagle4429 Awww, bless your sweet soul. If your reply is to my comment, I am incredibly humbled by your tears. I am almost 67 & honestly have blamed GOD for things that were MY doing, my free will and turned my back on HIM for a long rebellious period of time. I won't ever do that again. Now, if things aren't going the way I thought they might, I thank Him for EVERYTHING (literally). Bless you sweetheart & stay close to the LORD because He is the source of our strength when we need it ; may want to give up. Blessings of His amazing abundance & strength to you and yours. ❤️ ❤️ ❤️ ❤️

When my father first heard this song, he replayed it over and over and cried so much. As a younger lady I didn't know why. My father knew the Bible without even having to open it up. He struggled with alcoholism and passed away because of it. But before he passed he gave himself to God and repent. I listen to this and can't help but cry because I now know why he would cry while listening to this song. He believed..he believed he was a son of God and he'd be saved spit his addiction. When I hear this I think of him and cry. I miss you so much Dad😭🕊💙

I've spent my last 20 years as an atheist. Unknown to me, my mother and father in law have been praying for me and my wife daily. My wife and I have been married 17 years together 19. My wife started going to church to see her family more, because she works all the time. So I got up one Sunday and went with her so I could see her more myself. That was the first in many years that I had went to church. There was a preacher there that really had conviction. So I started questioning stuff that I had done before, but this time, I researched and prayed and asked God for guidance(couldn't hurt right). I went a few more times to church, and one night i was laying in bed thinking to myself about all I had learned from reading the Bible, and I just started crying and I mean crying. A warmth came over me and I felt peace. I'm still reading the Bible and I still have peace. You don't know me so this may seem weird but I'm a combat veteran I drank at least a couple of pints a week of Tequila I've been on and off drugs sent I was thirty, I'm now fifty. This is the best I've felt in years. All I'm saying is it's never to late. May God bless and give you the knowledge you need.😊😊😊😊

Rita I was listening to this song and was looking through the comments when I saw your post. I have no idea what you are going through, or have been through. My pain, is not your pain, but I hope you have faith in Christ. This life is not eternal. Post say's 10 months. I pray and I have you are in good faith and strength. He that dwelleth in the secret place of The Most High shall abide under The shadow of The Almighty.

Don’t know how this is relevant but I worked with an old black man, Sully, in 1985. He was a cook and was a dishwasher at a holiday inn. He didn’t know how old he was but said he was in the Army in WW1. Sully was a world of knowledge. I didn’t know him very well but from what I knew, I loved that old guy. He showed respect to ALL people around him and taught me how to do the same. I left the job and never kept up with him. I wish I had because Sully was a great man. I know he’s with God right now and when it’s my time, I’ll see him again and I will be able to learn from him again!!

@@lrapson01 We by nature do not seek God, He seeks us. He desires to walk with us each day! We are not perfect and this our need for the one true sacrifice, Jesus. It’s a free gift, given out of unconditional love from the Father. Like the song says “ I believe the words written in red. “ Once we admit to God that we cannot do life w/o him then He brings us into His arms of love guidance and a desire to be obedient to Him. Then our growth and relationship with God will grow and become deeper. I am not perfect still b/c sin still exists in this world, I still deal with control, anger and pride but NOT like I did 45 yrs ago! Yet God and I have a great relationship ( ya know we were created to be relational beings, look at the story of Adam and Eve) God enjoyed and walked with them everyday. God however knows that sin always comes between us and Him. I pray you search for God and find that peace Jesus speaks about “ that passes all understanding.”

This song was a blessing from God during the last few months of my mother's life. She would be sleeping all part of the sickness her body had surcome to. I would sing it to her even though she was sleeping. There were times when I said mom, I need you to listen to this song. I didn't want her to be afraid. We played it again with me singing with the track when she was in hospice hospital, of course it was only when her and I were there. The nurses thought sometimes loved ones don't want to pass in front of loved ones but I remained selfish and stayed, I did not want to leave my mom. My biggest prayer was that she would die alone. When I realized I was being selfish I went to kiss her forehead, as I did my mother took her lasts breaths. God revealed himself to me even through the passing of my mom. 4/11/2007.

+Debj1951 I feel sadness for your loss. When you lose a loved one, and it does happen to everyone eventually, it takes a long time for that grieving in your heart to become less. But it never goes away completely. And when I hear songs like these again, it does bring back memories...and some of the pain does return. As difficult as it is, embrace those feelings but do not dwell on them. It helps us to better appreciate happiness and joy better. There is supposed to be a time when we will all be re-united. Bless you for being a loving person who cares.
