Thanks, I was able to add a new code. It probably doesn't allow you to write over the old code in case something goes wrong and then there's no default anymore. After you punch in the factory code you have to hold the 1-2 button until you see the light flicker. Then you can punch in your new code.

What do you press if you want the number 2 as your first number. If you press the 12 you're going to end up getting a one and then a two just as you did.

For Broncos with factory remote start, Ford website says "Requires Dealer Service Tool (IDS/FDRS)" Do you know if it has to be programmed at the Dealer? I assume yours does not have factory remote start? Thanks

Love the idea of the keyless entry keypad, so I can leave the keys in the car. However, I don’t like the look of it on the door, so I ordered it separately and attached it on the inside of the fuel door, to hide it.

I’ve been seeing a lot of people doing that. I don’t hate how it looks, but I may also move it at some point. Possibly when I wrap it, because that will be a good time to remove it.

Only thing I would add is that you have to enter your new code within 5 seconds for it take. I was doing it too slow then I read where it has to be done within 5 seconds.

I notice that when you unlock your new code unlocks all doors as I can here it and also see the lock move on the passenger door. Ford's standard behavior had been to only unlock driver and then push 3-4 to unlock the rest. My Exploer and my Bronco Base require the extra step to unlock all doors. My Bronco Black Diamond unlocks all like yours here. I wonder how unlocking all can be enabled/disabled so I can make both my Broncos act the same.

I tried this because it's what the instruction pamphlet says, and my car doesn't take the new code. The doors don't lock and unlock after the new code is entered.

It should not. i was told not. If your fear is someone taking the key from the inside and starting the car, they would first have to type in the code on the keypad. This is what I was told from the Bronco forums.

Ok, simple question: The first button is a "1|2" shared button. How does it know I am pressing the "2" instead of the "1" ? Yes, I know, mind blowing question. If my keyless entry code was: 2, 4, 6, 5, 3; Now, how does the keypad know which digits I'm attempting to use? Don't tell me "so simple a Cave Man can do it." thanks a mil.

It’s a really nice feature to have if you need to get in but don’t have the key with you. Also, a lot of people like to lock their key inside when they go to the beach or a concert and don’t want to carry their key.

Not sure if you can do this with the Bronco, but back before I had my Bronco, I had a Grand Marquis with keypad and it was nice to be able to leave your car running and lock the door while you run into the store real quick (in winter, to keep car warm) and come out and key yourself back into the car. I used to do this ALL the time. It was great! When I ordered my Bronco, I KNEW I wanted that keypad, so that's how I ordered it.
