update: 7 months of normal use later.. the controller is unusable and i am going to need to buy an entirely new controller. I played with the controller problems as long as i could but scuf does not deserve your hard earned income after this. I have bought 5 scuf controllers in my life and every single one has done this to me.

Just bought my 3rd scuf over the course of 3 years. This one lasted a week without issues. Now I have stickdrift and my R1 and L1 have a mind of their own. Done investing in scuf, I gave them plenty of chances.

I bought my razer wolverine ultimate for xbox, on sale for $112 on amazon. My friend said his scuf broke in less than a year. The only thing is the razer is wired but it fits me as i dont have to use batteries as the braided cable is a blessing. No problems for 2 years and i hope it stays that way.

Scuff Vantage 2 is the single best controller I’ve ever owned. I’ve had it for over a year now. Super durable. I’ve dropped this thing more times than I care to admit and it’s taken it like a champ. No stick drift at all. I’ve owned a multitude of aftermarket controllers and this one in particular is really really solid. Never and I mean NEVER buy an Astro C50. Broke the first week I got it and replacement parts are insanely expensive. I replaced the sticks once and they failed again in under a week. It’s the biggest pos I’ve ever purchased.

Super glad I came across this, over the past few months I've been looking at different alternatives of the PS4 controller because I still have mine since I first bought my PS4 (2017) and it's safe to say that the PS4 controller held up pretty good over the years. I've been so close of buying a scuf that I'm glad I came across your video it totally changed my mind about getting a scuf and I might look into different options like the Astro c40 or the battle beavers. If anyone has any other options please let me know. The games I usually play are Apex Legends, Call of duty Modern Warfare, Call of duty Cold War, And Fortnite.

Impact lasted me a year before both of the sticks suffered drift, sensitivity issues that caused the character to look to the right super fast and the left extremely slow, AND the shoulder buttons gave out. This is from putting it back in its case after every use.

I remember theses only being big in cod especially during the jet pack era. Doing advanced movement without having to pause aiming which made the biggest difference in those games. I don’t see it being too important in other games

I agree with him. I spent a lot on the scuf controller and the trigger broke right out of the box. Took about three months for it to be repaired and back in my hands and then randomly while just playing my game the trigger broke again. save your money, the paddles don’t even help that much just put practise into using the regular controller.

I've got a Razer Xbox controller that has four extra buttons as well as hair trigger switches and that was about 120 USD. The first two buttons are next to the bumpers making them perfect for jumping/sliding. Its fairly durable tbh. I've dropped it couple times and it works just fine. There is one issue that I think is with the controller. Theres something wrong with the headphone jack that makes it so it can be kinda crackly after uniting your mic manually through moving the mic itself. I have to unplug and plug back in the mic till the static goes away, but other than that, I love it.

I personally recommend an Astro C40, I’ve been using one for a year and a half and the only problem I’ve had is a little stick drift, which I fixed myself because all buttons and analog sticks are easily replaceable! The thing is absolutely indestructible too, I think you should consider one

I've gone through 3 scuf controllers. 1st one the paddles stopped working. Even after having it sent for repairs, 2nd the D-pad stopped working, 3rd had stick drift. The 2nd 2 they refused to take. And they were all different models. Get the ps4 back button its great.

I 100% agree they got some great marketing guys in scuff and sponsor many of the best teams and controller pros to the point where anyone who thinks of paddles think of scuff, but that doesn’t mean it’s the best. You can definitely try it but look at all your options

I just now found this video but I will tell my story. It was mid 2016, I was in the throws of Destiny, Overwatch, and COD. My original Xbox controller had seen better days and I thought it was time to get a new one/upgrade. Naturally I gravitated towards the first party controllers but then I saw an add for Scuff. I had some money so I decided to get it. I tricked that thing out, every option they had, I got. Anyways, a month goes by and I'm satisfied with my purchase, paddles were not in the comfiest spot but no big deal I could get over it. 2 months in, the LT and RB started acting up, it was only once every couple of games so I pushed through. Then the paddles started to go out. It seemed like every game I was reloading while mid firefight, a critical flaw in my opinion. I attempted to get customer service but no one wanted to pick up. I finally got frustrated and stopped using the thing. Money down the drain for maybe 2.5 months of use. I wanted a controller with paddles because I just got used to them, I stumbled upon the Xbox Elite controller. To my surprise it was first party and half the price I paid. So what the hell I bought it. I've never looked back. I loved the first Gen and the second Gen is even better. I won't say it was perfect. The RB button fell off randomly but Microsoft's customer service was leagues better than scuff. I sent mine in and in 4 days for a replacement with an extended warranty. I love my Gen 2 and will never go back to scuff. If you have an Xbox/PC, get an Elite 2 or get anything other than scuff.

I had a scuf impact for a bit over a year before my friend broke it. The right analog stick would make ghost movements and continuously look to the left in games. I sent it in for repair and the same issue popped up once again about a week later

I’ve had two Scuf controllers, the first broke two times needing to get sent back for repairs but my second has worked like a gem for years… I’m thinking Scuf has a quality control issue where sometimes they get it right but a lot of the time there are issues.

I like their controllers for their really tall joy sticks. When I medically retired from the military my hands really hurt from muscle and nerve stuff and I have really long fingers and scuf back paddles and long joysticks really helped my fingers sit more comfortably on the controller. I also buy the grip stuff because I comically sweat since I was a kid haha I haven't had much of a problem and I've been with them for years. It does take forever though haha

I've only ever bought a black or white with EMR and with the impact I tried digital tap triggers and bought 1 reflex. In total I've owned 4 infinity 3 impact and 1 reflex. They all ended up with unbearable or unusable stick drift (I played roughly 6-8 hours a day for months on every one) the most recent impact still functions more or less like new but I haven't used it in almost a year (used it for 4 months prior) I've had the reflex for almost a year but maybe play 15-20 hours a week and it's still going strong. If this dies I'll try to get back on the impact (try on PS5) but I'm not buying another one again... I would've never bought all of them in the first place but doing account recoveries paid for them all

This is why I stick with astrogaming c40. The circle button stuck after about a year and half with my first one. The customer service was great because I was out of warranty and they def still took it to fix and got it back not too long after and that was last year. Its perfect still a year and half later

I bought a Scuf controller a few weeks ago. I might be one of the lucky ones, but I haven't had any issues with it. I think the Scuf itself might be overkill for most people, but a controller with backpedals is basically a necessity for competitive players. There are cheaper alternatives to the Scuf, but I wouldn't recommend buying the base controller if you're going to take the games you're playing seriously.

I had a similar experience. My trigger stops broke, and I sent it in for repairs. It took months. This happen long before the pandemic even started.. The wait time was ridiculous. I bought another controller during my wait period even. Both now have broken trigger stops. The one they repaired literally broke again within weeks.

I've used a scuf for a while now. I bought the scuf vantage and had to return it 3 times to gamestop because the sticks drift uncontrollably and once because the trigger stops were broken right out the box. The final straw for me was that they discontinued the controller so I can no longer get replacement paddles or sticks. I've only had the damned thing for a year and half and I've replaced two of the paddles so no parts is a big deal. The whole thing has pissed me off so much that I just bought tac switches and a remap board and built on myself.

I cannot tell you how true this is. I had this problem with the R1 and R2, paddles wouldn’t work, my impact the right analog stick scratches on the ring and sucks, I didn’t get the right triggers I asked for, the paddles come off super easily and so does the rings. And I don’t even wanna send it back bc like he said it took about 1-2 months to send in my old one so I’m just gonna sell it

Scuf controllers follow a good concept, but don't execute it well. For example: You can tighten little screws on the R2/L2 triggers, but if tighten them just the tiniest bit, the triggers repetitively press down. Also, I had stick drift after 2 weeks of use. The magnet on the bag that is supposed to be so strong, can't even hold up the other magnet you need to use to remap the pedals. Also, the only stuff you can find about scuf controllers is either reviews or how to fix stick drift or other issues on multiple controllers (both XBOX and Ps5!).

  • @supped8851
    @supped8851 Жыл бұрын

Not to mention that scuff controllers only re-map your buttons and you're not actually getting more keybindigs. If you can learn to claw, it benefits you more since you can hit 4 buttons (A, B, Y, X) instead of 2 paddles on the back.

’ve got a scuf prestige, it actually looks remarkably similar to yours lol. I’ve never had this problem, but I’ve had others, for example, both me and my cousin have had problems with the durability of the joysticks. Seems like you have to replace them every month or 2. Scufs in general just feel a lot less durable then normal controllers, that’s my experience.

Biggest issue I’ve had with both scuf and battle beaver is stick drift. Paddles and buttons are fine, but I do prefer buttons, but with the customization and messing around with all those little wires in the controller the stick drift comes quick. I had a regular ps4 controller for years playing COD and no stick drift. How is that even possible that a Sony made controller that’s abused for years last that long compared to an expensive modded controller?

Honestly i love the scuf impact controller more than the vantage 2 because that controller has a load of problems i got the vantage 2 last year for christmas and it was the most garbage controller, it had deadzone issues and the joysticks go stiff after a short while of use. I would always reccomend the impact tbh its the best controller.

The issues you had is because of the mouse click feature you selected for your scuf .. obviously it’s the better option on paper but in real it stops working soon as your controller proofed it to you and mine too

I had the same experience, during the same time also, but instead of the L1 R1 i was having really bad stick drift on my right stick and my left stick would get stuck when i pushed it up, i waited like 3 months to get the controller (Impact) and within a month i couldnt aim right, i sent it to get fixed waited about 1.5 month and within a week of it getting “fixed” both of the things started happening again and worse this time, the worse 270 dollars ive ever spent. I wont be buying a scuf ever again.
