Broken electric car antenna repair - Nissan Terrano
It took me a few hours to figure out how to get this done. Hopefully this video saves you a lot of hassle! If your antenna is snapped off or doesn't go up and down properly, this is for you. You will need some basic tools, a replacement antenna mast, and a few DIY skills for this job to make the mast nut tool (or go and buy one). Good luck!
Tools needed:
Philips screwdrivers - medium and large
Flat screwdriver - large
Socket set

This is the same power antenna that is used on my 2000 Toyota Camry Wagon. I was about to do this repair myself. Watching your video confirmed what I need to do. Many thanks pal !

Same one for Nissan Pathfinder 1996 R50 - Thank you mate!
Thank you so much all the video I’ve seen were wrong sweet as 👌
Great video. Also accurate for Nissan Navara d22. You were right, wheel off, inner trim off, aerial out. Refurbed on the bench. I found the antenna had rusted into the aluminium mast part. Took a while to get it off but once off it was straightforward. Really appreciate you taking time to do this.....
YES! Finally, some useful info. No way was I able to pull the mast up and remove it as I was led to believe. Thanks man!

Thanks, much more explanatory than the rest
if its a nissan patrol y61 broken drive cable, upllit for a nissan maxima antenna and cable 20 bucks fixed and works great.
Thanks mate....but in the end the only way I could get it all apart was by cutting the mast at about 6”, then sizing a drill bit to fit into the mast stub then grabbing hold with the vice grips, further whacking them upwards with a mallet....eventually the mast pulled out.
Forgot about aerial in car wash agh so got another replacement thanks for the video i can try and do it will update later
Thanks for that I will be doing the same to fix our one. Was the part just a generic part or did it come from Nissan? Its a shame they are put on the left side of the car. the next time you go to park next to a tree on the side to the road the aerial brakes again. I was thinking of putting a rubber stubby in instead.

aftermarket part from my local car supplies store.
Having done a few odd jobs in wheel wells, would removing the tire first give you more room to work?

Yes, most likely in hindsight haha. I'd definitely do that if doing this job again, at the time I was finding out how to do it as I was doing it.
Could you let me know what that part was actually called? I can't seem to find anything that will fit the 96 terrano? Many thanks

SuperCheap Auto or Repco should have most common car models parts, if you live in NZ or Oz. Otherwise ask whoever is your local vehicle parts supplier
