I like how Matt emphasized the longevity of the products. Yes, you can go cheap, but too cheap becomes expensive when you have to replace so many parts. It was a good angle to go on and really contributes to our reduction of e waste

As someone who just got into this channel and Donut, I can't stress enough how much I love that you both have low budget vs. high budget themed shows.

I love this series, but would love to see Broke VS Mid-Tier VS Pro setups/systems where you have a budget for each tier. For people like myself, I likely won’t buy a RTX 4080 but I might buy a 4070 if it’s justifiable 🤷‍♂️

In KZread world your either Rich or your Broke.. I don't do the PC thing. I don't play any online stuff in any shape or form. So my PS5 and 65"C1 OLED is perfect for me. Offline story-driven games ON DISC I'd the only thing that makes gaming worth putting money into.

I would like to see a price range for each side of this challenge. I think Ken's broke set up would look a lot more comparable with like another hundred dollars. Seeing just how comparable you can get on a budget.

Honestly its thanks to videos like these that i've accumulated what is my gaming setup at the moment. Ken's right, its crazy how you can get high refresh rates monitors these days for so cheap! Keyboards? Look during Black Friday or Boxing Day, sometimes you can find good brands like Rosewill for 50$! Mouse? Surplus stores, that's where i got my G603 for 60$ and its a mouse that normally retails for 100$! The next upgrade of mine? Going Ryzen after using Phenom II for 13 years!

No way Lmao, was just rewatching all the broke vs pro videos yesterday and it’s back today!

"Money = Good." this quote is actually true because if you're not good, you don't enjoy the game as much and won't spend money on the game or setup, if your good, you enjoy the game more and that encourages you to spend money because there's a reason, your happy and having fun in the game.

Ken should have found one of the cheap mech boards with the Gateron optical switches and probably gone with like a Red Dragon mouse...he also should have spent some time doing cheap mods to the keyboard to make it feel/sound better to get a few bonus points. Sure, it might have made his entire setup cost like $200 total instead of $177, but there was definitely some wiggle room there to do small improvements that would have made a big difference...oh and I personally use a pair of MPow gaming headphones (that I got for like $12 from Walmart) which sound pretty good and have a decent mic). Since I'm actually broke, I know how it is to have to find the best deals while still trying to get decent functionality out of your gear.

I have almost the same Ken setup except for the monitor, but that Gawfolk monitor for $100 is really quite a steal.

HA! I have that EXACT Magegee keyboard. Its awesome. For the price its really really solid. I got the blue switches but upgraded some of the keys with some gateron browns (spacebar, WASD, enter) love the hot swap and I would recommend that budget oriented peeps buy this as a starter mechanical keyboard

I actually have that same Voyee Controller, & it doesn't feels bad like Mat saying it as is, it's really good for the price, maybe because he got a bit of bigger hands But anyway, Ken were pretty smart, maybe not the keyboard or the mouse, but everything else felt pretty great for that total spending

Actual simulations setup (flight, racing etc.) has always been expensive and to cater to the experience. Simulations hobbyists use to need a multi monitor setup before the advent of VR headsets that we have today just to simulate a racing game. The best setup I've seen is a racing setup with a omni theatre style projector. Just the calibration of the projector would be hard, but for a driving sims enthusiasts, it's all worth it. Playing FPS on it still sucks though.
