There’s plenty of money, help and support out there... if you’re an immigrant. The government (and various organisations) of this country have their priorities well out of order. They can send £millions to Ukraine at the drop of a hat but nothing for these people in dire need. We need a revolution.

left Wirral in 1984. Never been back except to visit family. Birkenhead has no redeeming features, unfortunately. When Liverpool was going through the Boys from the Black stuff, Birkenhead was not even Liverpool. It was hopeless and still is. it's shameful that any place could be abandoned so completely.

Hats off to her, keep up the great work. Wirral, just like other towns and small cities in this country are literally on their knees.

I love my town.. However it's nothing like the Birkenhead I know and love.. nobody gives a pooh!!

I live close to the YMCA in Birkenhead and have seen it get worse for homelessness in just the past 2 years. Although there is the ark, the bridge and the ymca, the problem is only getting worse. No money is being spent in this town.

Birkenhead town centre was still vibrant until we got into the early 00s then with online shopping the town very slowly died, the crash of 08/09 was the end of it , went very quickly downhill after that , was always a shadow town anyway but people don’t want to go there anymore. The town centre for the Wirral now is probably Bromborough Croft retail park.. Lady says about landlords well that’s the only thing they have money in those areas. Once the town centre was gone, only the smack heads and the very old people are about. it’s very very sad. I remember the town centre when I was child it was busy. There was nightlife and Christmas in Birkenhead was packed.

Its not the only town in the UK to ho downhill. Since the coal mining industry decline most towns on the old coalfields are a shadow of their former selves.

Birkenhead was shipbuilding. But drugs have ruined Birkenhead going back decades. Got out of Birkenhead 88 that's how long it's being declining.

Wirral Ways, not naming names, but they were very abrupt.

I lived in birkenhead in the 50s and early 60s near birkenhead park. Its always been like this. In those days it was from one porn shop day to another!

has to be harrowby, i live round the corner and see plod wizz past day and night to that road, but it isnt everyone, there are still good people on Harrowby rd but the wronguns ruin it for the rest.
