I feel like as much as I adore Beth she was too similar in Chaperone and this to justify her getting the Tony again. I'd love to see her win another one day, but maybe not as another diva. Re Oklahoma... To me that darkness was and has always been there. And I loved it. Also Paul, your comment about audiences being less dazzled or impressed by well-done classic Broadway is so, so on point.

This could be the first Tony’s in years to not have a show winning the Triple Crown

Matty Rivera they haven’t announced any casting yet and if he does it won’t be for a while because the run doesn’t start till the end of November.

No. It didn’t get great reviews by key journalists and like, just opened. It could take some design categories but is by no means revolutionary

How tf did beetlejuice not win scenic design and lighting? Hadestown winning lighting is understandable I suppose but beetlejuice didn’t win scenic? whatttt

Tootsie has averaged about 70% of its potential gross since it opened. Not really a "hit"'.

If SJB doesn't win I will CRY!! And if she does I will also cry but happy tears.

I think all of the other performances were wonderful, but I seriously don't think that the critics will see much competition 🤷🤷

I'm a little sad Be More Chill only nominated for 1 tony It was nominated for Best Orginial Score and it's going to loes to Hadestown for that

@ I plan on seeing it but even if it's still bad I feel like it still should be nominated for like another tony or something like it it only was nominated for 2 it would still be fine but having only be nominated for 1 in a subject that has very strong competitors that the critic will obviously like more is just unfair and I feel like not being nominated for any whould be better then that But that's just my opinion

@@isabellalen652 would rather go to your favorite restaurant and have them spit in your food or just go to a restaurant you just like Yeah I might be a little over dramatic but it going against abunch of other musicals that will defiantly be more liked by critics so it holds no candle to them, and I know it's not going to be like Avenue Q vs Wicked where the one the critics would like more loes and the one you didn't think they would like will win Plus the Broadway soundtrack just slightly worst then the original in my opinion so the source worst the original that make BMC popular

I'm very sad Be More Chill only got one nomination. I feel like it deserved more. I'm glad it at least got nominated and I know it's not going to win because the Tony committee didn't like it and that is just so sad. I mean it got 1 Tony nomination and 12 Broadway Audience Choice Award Nominations. Clearly the people love BMC and wish it had more nominations.

Comparing the Broadway.com Audience Choice Awards and the Tonys is like trying to compare the People's Choice Awards with the Oscars. In both cases, they can't really be compared because people who vote for these "choice" awards just go by fandom intensity and don't actually really think about individual craft achievement like the professional awards shows do.
