He was a drummer first before a rapper. He had a band. He said it in his interview. Definitely smokin out of the window is still .Paak on the recording. That his his drum sounds and fills.

@Tyran Curtis I mean perhaps Anderson wrote the drum line but he's not credited for drums on that song. And that's according to the inlet that comes with the album. Also found credits on an article from Pitchfork, so yeah. Take that info for what you will.

The best way to explain it is this... the look on your face when they broke into the chorus needs to be immortalized because we all felt that I'm not going to lie.. That was real. This whole album is the musical equivalent of the take-home exam and the grade breaks the Curve

Every time I listen to a song on this album, it becomes my favorite, honestly just too good

We have a pure CLASSIC on our hands with this album. Best album I've heard in years.

I just re-watched your reaction to this and I was thinking can you imagine this being performed at the Super Bowl as part of the halftime show. He has rocked it before and if they do part of the album they will absolutely crush it... I have no doubt. And they decide to go on concert to work it, this will possibly be one of the hottest tickets in years. This album has something for everyone ., and it doesn't matter if you are18 or 80. There are songs on this album that make you cry, mad, sad, sexy and badass. And all in under 40 minutes ., ladies and gentleman that is musical perfection I guarantee there's going to be a whole new generation of babies because of this album ., and you can count that as a fact

I love this song. It's tied with Smoking out the Window for me for number 1.

The two backup singers in the group were originally Bruno's horn section on tour.

They chose a 70s instrumentation and overall sound but I'd say they also used modern production techniques to make it sound fresh and - in a way - better than it would have sounded back then. Everything is very crisp and clean while still sounding warm but especially the drums pack a punch in a way 70s production couldn't have done. Especially on this track where the drum sound is really very on the fat and in the foreground. The trick is to not overdo it, to find the sweet spot in the middle. To older people it sounds 70s but fresh and to younger people it sounds fresh but 70s, I guess :)

Anything released after September 30 is not qualified for AOTY at the next Grammys. Silk Sonic can year song of the year at the next show but not AOTY.
