    BG is stating that it is about support from fans, sponsors,and others who have interest in the sport. Viewership leads to bigger paydays via ads.Sponsors lead to better pay through walking billboards, more ticket sales lead to more concession sales, fan swag sales, online sales, fan interaction packages....etc etc. The powers that be did not want a WNBA let alone a successful women's league, therefore they slotted them during NFL...knowing damned well that the NFL was already established and the WNBA would not be able to gain a sustainable traction.

    So true Before Brittany was arrested, I didn't even KNOW that the WNBA was still a thing🤷🏾‍♀️ OBVIOUSLY, I had never heard of Brittany.     Let’s not forget Marc Hilliard Fogel the 63 year old American schoolteacher who was arrested in August 2021 by Russian authorities for trying to enter Russia with 0.6 ounces (17 g) of medical marijuana. In June 2022, he was sentenced to 14 years in prison. He is not a celebrity so is forgotten by the news media 😢

    When I found Britney Griner I didn’t know who she was, she’d just been sentenced to prison in Russia and I was at this point in my life just starting to figure out and understand the full power of daily brisk walking. I also knew that her girlfriend would be extremely worried and reading the comments under articles and possibly on Twitter and I also knew from looking at Britney Griner’s photographs at that time that she was not a walker and mostly rode in cars. I can see this because I’ve walked thousands upon thousands of miles and studied this deeply for many years. I knew that I could make a difference. So I wrote my usual paragraphs extolling the virtues of daily brisk walking explaining that it should be done seven days a week for the mathematical benefits and that if she did this it would change her physicality, her countenance and her mind making her prison stay easier. By the changes, it looks like I was right. (It works basically the same for everyone and most people achieve similar results) Walk briskly everyday for the mathematical benefits that payoff like compounding interest. Make sure to swing both of your arms and use your eyes for things both near and far. Take a selfie before you begin this program and then another after some time has passed. The difference will be easily discernible and readily apparent. If you do this you’re going to feel better than you have in decades. You’re going to feel sharper, you might even feel like you’re aging in reverse. Get an Apple Watch and close your rings daily. It’s cheaper than the gym and any trainer and will keep you consistent. I’ve shared this countless thousands of times across every continent except Antarctica and seen the same results as above. *Edit: In retrospect, I think I hit Antarctica and McMurdo Station. I wrote about the power of daily brisk walking and the fact that I don’t wear socks or multiple layers down into the single digits. This is the power of practicing the art of daily brisk walking. This works. On those issues I agree with you. Being able to bribe her way out if she weren’t famous? Not likely. But the biggest issues with your position is believing she is a hero. A country for whom she not only refused to stand for the national anthem, but for whom she said it should not be played at all at sporting events, traded her for an arm’s dealer. She owes way more to the U.S. than changing her mind about the national anthem, which she has done. Perhaps she should donate the proceeds of her book to help others who have been detained in a foreign country. Maybe start with those who did not commit a crime. If being a hero simply means taking accountability for one’s actions, that is insulting to true heroes, like people who risk their lives for our country or put their lives in danger to help others.

    For some reason, many people in the comments say that in America, drug mischief is legal, but in Russia, there is severe punishment. This is not true: if Brittney Griner had been caught with that amount of drugs inside Russia, before crossing the customs border, she would have faced a fine, because it is an administrative offense. Smuggling is severely punished - i.e. concealment or incorrect declaration of transported goods. For this, their weight does not matter - in relation to drugs, radioactive substances and anthrax spores, all this is considered equally dangerous to public safety. I remember an incident at this Moscow airport, when an airline passenger from the USA brought 4 pistols and about 1000 rounds of ammunition in his luggage to Russia, but he presented them to customs control and indicated them in the declaration. Since he indicated the goods, although prohibited, there was no evidence of smuggling in his actions, so he was not brought to criminal responsibility.
