Unfortunately he was allowed to quietly resign with full pension and benefits. He was making well over $200k/year. All his friends were top city officials and they did everything they could to minimize his behavior for decades. The officer that slammed him was actually one of the few people who was actively trying to do something about the chief. This was the officer finally snapping. The chief is on the record as openly he would physically assault any officer that pisses him off.

Kudos to the officer. Chief is barely aware of what's going on. This is the kind of police officer we need. The chief needs to be held up to the same standards he expects from others.

The police chiefs name is Guida, he stepped down after this came to light. They also looked into his past and found out he's been coming to work drunk for the past 6 months. They determined he broke department rules and regulations 24 times, State Attorney General guidelines twice and violated someone's Fourth Amendment rights among other things. He is a criminal in my eyes and should be treated as one.

When the supposed ‘chief” said to the cop trying to adjust the car, “YOU KNOW I LOVE YOU”… Absolute sure sign he is DRUNK AS A SKUNK. This kind of corruption crap is getting more and more rampant across the US. I hope you two have figured out the story. Good cop during a DUI (drunk while intoxicated) stop. Out of nowhere good cop’s chief who is disgustingly drunk, not on duty, and starts trying to throw his weight around. Good cop tries to save the chief’s arse, but the drunkard has to power play.

The Chief was drunk AF and upset that the Sergeant’s patch on the back of the jacket was starting to rip. He tried to assert his authority over the Sergeant and put his hands on him by grabbing him and trying to pull him away from the traffic stop which is what caused the Sergeant to shove him onto the hood of the car. There was long standing animosity between the Chief and the officers because the Chief would randomly show up to calls drunk and try to take charge of them even when not on duty. The Sergeant WAS NOT disciplined and the Chief was suspended and then forced to resign early because he was set to retire in a few months anyway. If you notice the Chief tries getting another officer to back him up but the other officer doesn’t because he knew he was drunk and overstepping. I called the Sergeant and left him a message thanking him for doing the right thing. He ended up calling me back and thanking me for the words of support so I made sure and bought him a beer. Sarge seems like a damn good guy doing a tough job and his only concern is his men’s and the public’s safety which the city recognized so he didn’t get in trouble for putting the Chief on his ass

That "chief" is an embarrassment, a complete disgrace. He had a long history of public drunkeness and of showing up to incidents, out of uniform, blatantly having been on the piss all night. The "chief" was suspended, then allowed to retire early and keep his pension. The Sergeant was swiftly reinstated by the City Council. The suspension/retirement and reinstatement of the Sergeant occurred immediately after the County Prosecutor's Office opened an investigation.

I think that the chief and that officer or several officers had beef prior to this. It may have had something to do with drinking or not but theres no way(in my opinion) that a sergeant slams his cheif unless they already had beef with each other.

The chief resigned with full pension benefits. of course no punishment and now there’s currently the video out of a DA who was speeding and got pulled over by an officer and thought she was above the law. That will turn out the same way I bet. she’ll resign and somehow manage to get full pension benefits.

This wasn't the first time this chief was caught drunk and causing issues. He was suspended for 3 months without pay and then after an investigation was told to retire. The Sgt went back to work without any suspension. Here is a suggestion, find out about what happens after these incidents, then you wont make such a wrong reaction to these cop things here. You based your assumptions on what you thought was going on. And these cops knew what was going on with this chief, he had a drinking problem and had issues before this even happened. When a cop is on an investigation of a crash and DUI, you do not interfere with that investigation. He was drunk, they knew it, also the Chief grabbed the Sgt first, and the Chief was wrong in doing that. You should have looked up this incident to see what had really happened, then watched the video. Because now, people who do not know the extent of what was going on, now has a negatory reaction to this Sgt.
