That British accent was perfection, I really felt the pompous snobbery ooze out of you, just like it did when any America enters their shops. 'Please make sure you don't touch anything with your filthy hands'.(that was just addlib) I first saw the M&M store in NY, which I never understood, my first thought was 'I bet a bag of M&Ms costs less at a candy count or vending machine, than it does in the huge store, so what's the point? Guess you can buy all the memorabilia there, so it's more like a gift shop or tourist trap.

What exactly is "foul language" anyway. And does it count if you use British swear words instead of actual swear words? Otherwise, your comment is just a bunch of bloody bollocks.
@LanielPhoto
3 жыл бұрын
@@senbassador - Foul language is what polite and courteous people find offensive. I occasionally use the words "shut up" and found it was offensive in sections of the south USA - I was told to say "Hush" instead. Same with "Go to hell" - I was suppose to say "Go to blazes" . So it does vary from place to place. Some are offensive to polite society everywhere, as I found out, such as the "f" word . Saw a little peek squeek guy take on a football player because the football player used the f word in front of the peek-squeeks's wife on a cruise ship. What surprised the football player was that most of the crowd supported the little guy and beared down on him for his foul language, as they put it. If my comment is bullocks why do so many agree with me ? Your comment indicates that you probably swear a lot and do not consider it uncouth. If it makes you happy - keep it up.

Literally the funniest man alive. Jim, this was great!
Jim Gaffigan, you are the funniest person alive, and even better than that, you married Jeannie and had all those lil darlings. Thank you Mr Gaffigan for keeping us laughing through these weird times.😂😂
After traveling around England I wanted to know why they drove on the opposite side of the road. From my research it stated back in the Knights day they would lead their horse on the left side, if an enemy approached the knight could swiftly reach (with his right hand) for his sword to protect himself. If they had been on the right side of the road it would have given them a disadvantage to defend themselves.
@IlSqueak
3 жыл бұрын
That's interesting, because as a Brit, I was led to believe that (driving on the left) was to stop Jousting on the Kings / Queens Highway. Your lance was held in the right hand pointing to the left, so it could meet your opponents shield (on the left arm). If you jousted an opponent on the right you'd have a fair chance of having broken shoulders. Yours is a better explanation.
Your clips are getting us through this global craziness. Thank you for opening your home and family to us. And what a caring and charming group you have. Enjoy them!!
I love when comedians are funny without so many sex and race jokes.
Thanks so much for the lighter side of life! I'm grateful that I discovered you during this pandemic! And do tell your lovely wife and children that they have a fan here in DC who wishes them many blessings!
British accent impressions never get old. Oooooooh oopooooooooooooohhhh 😂😂😂😂😂
Jimothy, you're the best. The Brits are funny with their pronunciation of the language. I watched a few seasons of "The Only Way is Essex", a bunch of British 20 somethings reality show, and this one dude, forget their names, got a tattoo, and was obnoxious enough to pronounce it "ta-oo". "I got a ta-oo". Just obnoxious. Fun show to watch.

@スパイダーマン You should come to the Europe and teach us how to speak the English. You could probably get here by the aeroplane. 😋 It's nothing to do with institutions vs non-institutions... In English, when a noun is being used in a broad sense, "the" is omitted. So, "I took him to the hospital" means you took him to a specific hospital, but "I took him to hospital" means that the focus of the statement is that the guy had to go to hospital... which hospital is not the focus. So, depending on context either is correct. Try it with some other sentences... "I went to college" vs "I went to the college" for instance. I guarantee you'll find some where it makes no sense, because English is like that.
Love you, Jim.

Always so funny!
As we all know by now (haha) if it's a specific hospital, it is THE hospital (for Brits, not for us). If it's a general statement, it's just "to hospital" or "at hospital" -- same with "university" (for them.) The closest thing we Americans have to that is "college" (haha). "Where did you go to college?" "What year did you graduate from college?" We don't say, "When did you go to THE college" unless we are thinking / speaking / referring to a specific college: "I went to the College of Architecture in 1998." Makes sense now, doesn't it... don't know why we don't carry over the rule to apply to hospital and university, which is the same, essentially -- but our English is full of those kinds of crazy contradictions.
The way you looked at me at the end of the video: I found it...unnerving haha.
thank you!!!
