I'm not a massive motorbike fan, but I used to live very nearby to Shakey and used to often see him driving his various exotic cars and bikes around, avidly following his career purely due to him being a local hero! Thoroughly enjoyed both parts of this chat/tour and great to hear Shane talking so positively about what must have been a very dark period in his life and career following that accident. Thanks as always Jonny for taking the time, care and attention to produce a truly wonderful video... yet again!

Loved the RGV 250, had one myself back in the mid 90´s "stepping down" after a huge gixer 750 crash - and what a fantastic machine it was!! Shakey is totally correct re nostalgia, I'm really _really_ hankering after another 80's / 90's stroker, but the trouble is my first proper "big bike" was an '86 500LC and I really _really_ want one of them too but the price of all the these bikes is now becoming almost unreachable for mere mortals 😢😢😢😢

This means the type of valve actuation Ducati is famous for. i.e. actuation by two cam profiles - one for opening & one for closing, as a pose to normal valve trains that use springs for closing.

I'm not calling him a hypocrite. I've met him and a more genuine and kind man you could not meet. Great set of interviews Johnny! Shakey is good guy and we hope he could come back. Let me know when he wants to sell the Pinerello Dogma. Any road cyclist out there would love to have it given its pedigree and the obvious care with which Shakey lavishes on his equipment.

Wow I used to have a GSXR in mid 2000s that had the exact same color as that 250 at 18:57 that must have been its inspiration!

There's only one bike there that I can relate to and that's the RGV. I had one around 93/94 and it was probably the favourite out of all the bikes I've ever owned, both for how it went and how it looked.

Like Shakey I had a very serious accident in 2014 with injuries very similar. It amazes me that he’s become as fit as he has. I’d love to speak with him to get an understanding of how I could gain at least a modicum of fitness back.
