During my basic training in the Danish army our CO was a huntsman. He had the same calm demeanor, soft-spoken, pleasant but with very high expectations of us. For the most part we did normal basic training, but he did arrange a couple of confidence tests and a couple of weeklong exercises that weren't on the standard curriculum. I credit his way of teaching for me ending up with a 15 year military career.

@@CombatReadyHQWeirdly enough youtube or your settings is "double translating" it, i noticed for an example at 19:20 in your video the subs say "But you have TWO", but i wrote "but you have TO" in the original subs. Seems like its trying to translate to "uk english" or something. Oh well, I'm planning to post and sub a new military video soon. Edit: i also never wrote "bark" but its showing up multiple times for some reason lol. Very weird

A note about the subtitles; They're generally pretty serviceable, but they made a pretty big mistake during the sequence where they were singing while swimming- the song they're singing is not the national anthem "Der er et yndigt land" (There's a lovely country), but a common Christian hymn called "I østen stiger solen op" (In the east the sun rises)

About the guy's smirk, the officer that was talking about that said "that's what I fell for", insinuating that that was one of the reasons they chose him to try to be squad leader. So it wasn't a negative thing, like the subtitles made it out to be.

The eldely carabines are merely for training purposes, the Jægerkorps do have the latest weaponry at their ops disposal. But candidates do only get the old gear. As expected; people from the middle east really such at water exercises. Incredible that they don´t prepare better, now it is widely known.
