I saw a recruit have his boots on the wrong feet, and when the DI's saw that they made him run around saying, "look at my feet, look at my feet, look at my feet". I received punishment because I was laughing A LOT. DI's are actually very funny, believe it or not. If they like you, and you have let's say a big nose, they might nickname you Private Snorkel. Fucking hilarious...........

When you first arrive, those DI's are not your training DI's. They are "receiving" DI's. These DI's are on their way out of the Corps or are transitioning into other assignments. The first week in just in processing. Taking written tests to see how smart/dumb you are, physical exams, dental exams. There are 13 training weeks. The first week doesn't count as a training week. You don't see your permanent DI's until about your 8th day, that's when the fun starts.

You thing it's too much?? If you can't take HARMLESS yelling, what are you going to do when your best friend's brains are all over you and there are numerous enemy personal who desire the same for you?? Cry for your mommy, or wade into the enemy? There is a reframe in the Marine Corps Hymn, "If the Army and the Navy ever look on Heavens scenes, they will see the streets are guarded by......United States Marines". Enough said.

Can't speak for everyone but I did love parade. Being Scottish a march behind the drums and pipes gave me a hell of a sense if pride. Sadly I'd been in when a spit and polish had been a daily task and more than once in some instances. That 20 mins shower change and back on the drill square for every single soldier was definitely a push back in the day. Sad to see so many depots shutting down these days

The most important part of the plane is not talked about at all, its capeability to take off and land on regular roads in sweeden. In a world where drones and artillery rule supreme, not having to sit on a runway and get shot down is a massive tactical advantage. Something like the F16 is super finicky and had massive issues operating out of the desert for instance, where they needed to be kept in climate controlled hangars ect.

Glengarry off to the guardsmen. Not a chance these idiots would be doing this at our post. Dragged into the gatehouse would be a kinder term than what would have happened to them at our depot. Delighted the police lifted the tosser. Had a friend in the Scots Guards, I went to the Royal Scots with another school mate. Nothing worse than parade or guard duty, I'd rather have done a bft

14:00 GROM insignia pays tribute to insignia of CICHOCIEMNI (Silent Unseen), a WWII elite special-operations paratroopers of the Polish Army in exile. GROM's Operators are, in a sense, the heirs of their tradition.

I wish every able bodied American was obliged to serve two years in our military. The pride and discipline and brotherhood or sisterhood. It would be a nation on a much better track. To those that have served... no amount of gratitude is too much. That goes for across the pond as well. ❤
