The accent that he currently uses is most likely an exagerrated accent for comedic effect. He's African yet his accent sounds almost like an Indian accent. A lot of comedians do this sort of thing (Larry the Cable Guy, Lavell Crawford).

It’s not all that subtle people will just not say anything, but you still got your staples, police will assume stuff, it’s harder to get loans or just move up in life. All the basics are still there, you’re more likely to hear racist stuff from mostly older folk. I mostly remember my grandparents saying some stuff I thought sounded pretty racist, mostly just ignorant but still racist. I really don’t think you can call it subtle though, it’s there if you pay attention it’s just people will likely not call attention to it. Unless it’s people talking about reserved slots to get into university then they are just openly racist either saying it’s unfair that universities will reserve slots for black students or saying that it’s racist because they are being considered for the slot because they are black. Anyways it’s not any more than the UK I’d say

@@kushagrasonkar Well, from what I read somewhere and from other's comments years ago, it was because gingers were minorities which was considered rare and you know how thousands of years ago, gingers were accused as being witches or witch decendants. I mean, even the actor who acted as Merlin in the british series joked around about burning gingers (as in burning the witch, because that is what people used to do back then - they hunt witches and burn them) during breaktime. He has dark humor btw.

If I were Jewish I'd be happy if you assumed I was German; it would make me think about the survival of German Jews, which is a testament to the Nazis' ultimate failure, and I assume that 99% of Jews have no problem with their brethren continuing to live in Germany. I’m korean- Canadian and when I lived in London, People said to me all the time on the street Kon'nichiwa. Also I get asked if I’m Chinese all around the world or American with my accent. I don’t get offended. I educate. Finally, the racism he’s experienced is way worse than anything I’ve experienced.

The BBC did a great job with the title; for those annoyed by the absence of the comedian's name there. He's not a household name yet in Britain, so they put a click bait title with an emoji as a hint to show he's funny. I'm sure like me, others clicked on it to find out. During apartheid, POC could not go to beaches and sit on certain benches etc. because it was reserved for whites and there were literally signs that would say "net blanke" would means only whites/Europeans.

@Call me Smurf While the BBC almost certainly does promote the 'right type of' left wing comedian exclusively I think proclaiming them to be anti-white is a bit much. Anyway nothing this comedian said was anti-white and further more it was actually funny, rare now in the UK so I'll take it!

In fact a quick google should show you various news articles discussing whats OK and what isn't and jokes about colored minorities by white folk are not OK! honestly when was the last time you saw a white person make jokes about blacks on TV? a while ago I bet!
