There was an old TV show in 2010 that would talk about fast food places and give information about it. One of them was about the Wendy's frosty where you can turn it upside down. Only remember this because I went to Wendy's right after that show with my mom and wanted to see if that was true. It was true. But, never went to Wendy's after that

And even at DQ it's just to show you it's fresh and wasn't sitting around (otherwise the sides would start to melt and it falls out). It's not a guarantee past when they give it to you. Lol

Repent and trust in Jesus. We all deserve Hell for our sins, such as lying lusting coveting and more. We can't save ourselves, but Jesus can save us. • @jonadabtheunsightly

    @jonadabtheunsightly

Huh. I always assumed that at some point they'd had equipment that could more easily produce square burgers than round ones, probably by pressing the raw hamburger in a large sheet and then cutting it with a rectangular grid of thin wire. (A lot of food shapes can be explained by the equipment that was historically available, e.g., that's why sticks of butter are a different shape in California than most of the rest of the country.)

I worked at Wendys when I was in high school from 1978 through 1979. We used a machine to patty the square burgers. You had to keep a consistent flow through the hopper on top to get the pattys complete.8 pattys to a stack and 8 stacks per pan.The machine also placed a paper between the pattys so that when they are being prepared it was easier to put them on the grill. The motto was hot and juicy. Sad they aren't like that now. @jonadabtheunsightly

I worked in a Wendy's on the grill station. When you see how the meat comes in, square makes more sense for packaging and transport. The burgers come in fresh, never frozen. So, the patties are separated by wax paper, so you peel off a piece of paper with the patty attached and you can put it on the grill without even touching the patty. Since the burgers are fresh the patties would potentially get disformed in transport. In contrast, I also worked for McD's for 3 days before this. Those burgers were frozen round discs.

I still can't stand the beef, for some reason I always get bone shards whenever I get burgers, but the fries and all their chicken stuff is very good, plus the veggies are always fresh. If you get the app it's almost always free every day, just have to buy a $0.99 juice box, def not expensive but still WAY more expensive than BK or McD if you just go without the apps

Wendy’s Frosties are legit amazing. Where I live, there is a Wendy’s that test markets new items. Some years back, they had a coffee flavoured Frosty, and it was so, so nice. I know coffee ice cream, and those Dunkin whipped coffee drinks, but this coffee frosty was just lovely. It had a bold coffee flavour, and an underlying subtle vanilla. It was sweet enough, but not-too sweet. Apparently it didn’t make the cut to national offering, and it was available for only a few months, one summer. I’ve tried to recreate it at home, and I’ve come close, but not close enough. This coffee Frosty was sublime. Oh, and if had whipped cream atop.

Canada 🇨🇦 here, When i was your ages, i worked at Wendy's and i can honestly tell you, Wendys uses fresh products only. The cheese is NOT that fake processed stuff, the Frosty is actually a dairy dessert you eat with a spoon, the bacon is high quality applewood smoked bacon. The beef patties are made fresh daily from huge packs of fresh lean ground beef, its inserted into the top of a stainless steel patty press machine which presses meat into square pattes with wax liner sheets in between. The patties are stacked into stainless steel pans, covered in stretch wrap and refrigerated to only be used for that day. Any patties unused daily are cooked well done on the grill, then chopped and put into freshly made chilli which is also one of their products made with fresh sauce, their own spice mixture, the beef patties, and huge really rinsed well kidney beans. Its not overly spicy though..perfect really because anyone who prefers spicier food or chilli receive foil packettes of Wendys hot sauce to mix in. They also serve huge russet baked potatoes (if you prefer baked, instead of fries), which come plain (with butter) or sour cream and chives, or loaded with melted cheese and REAL bacon bits. Their chicken sandwiches are also fresh and pure 100% chicken breast meat, NO FILLERS. They also offer grilled chicken breasts if you prefer foods not fried, but grilled. Lastly, they have the most delicious healthy salad choices as well. The chicken ceasar compares to top restaurants, real cheese dressing, actual bacon broken up, garlic croutons and you can get it cold with warm fresh chicken chunks...so delicious!!! They have other assorted salads, all fresh, crisp and delicious. They even have a Taco salad, it comes with various lettuce types, shredded cheese, a container of chilli your pour on top, fresh sour cream, & a fresh packette of taco chips. The salads are large and a meal in themselves. Wendy's founder Dave Thomas named store after his daughter Wendy. He was adopted child and grew up into an amazing entrepreneur founding Wendy's restaurants with only the best ingredients. The fast food Wendys chains promote adoptions, have donation receptacles on the counters, and donation blitzes whereby if you donate $2.00 you receive a coupon for basically a free burger meal, so its valued more than your donation, at least here in Canada, not sure about the U S. Glad you all enjoyed the food. It was fun watching you all try it out and enjoying yourselves. You all seem to be such polite, well-raised, well-mannered young gentlemen. I was very impressed with you all. ❤ from Ontario, 🇨🇦 CANADA

The reason the pattys are square was like they said to stand out and also because Dave said they don't cut corners in quality like other fast food which then became their motto as well "No corners cut" or "We don't cut corners". It sometimes even says it on the bags or burger wraps

Actually, I worked at Wendy's and we were taught working the grill to press each of the four corners with the spatula before and after a flip so that the cook on the burger happened equally and preventing any one corner of the burger being under or over cooked.

Having worked for Wendy's for three years in my early-mid 20's, it is my favorite fast food chain. Having also worked at McDonald's before that, the contrast in quality of food between the two chains is insane. As far as freshness and quality of fast food, Wendy's is top of the list.

Wendy's is either good or cold and sloppy. I went last week and the fries and burger were cold, it didn't have all the toppings, and had cheese when I didn't order any. MCDs always gets it right; it's the same every time and at every store. Frosties are always good, though.

Wendy's has gone down hill, by the current billionaire owner who took over since Dave The Founder died. We won't go to our local Wendy's. They are rude to all customers, and the manager told me and a 90 yr old widow at another table, in an empty restaurant, that had 30 minutes each to eat and leave, otherwise we would be loitering! I had just gotten out of the hospital for gall bladder removal surgery. I can't eat fast. I complained to corporate on my receipt. An equally unprofessional man banned me from being served! Wow! Pay top dollar for a meal and $6 for a soda and get treated this badly?! Never again! Wendy's now wants to charge customers higher prices for "premium hours". The Cedar/Herndon, Fresno, Calif, Wendy's has lost many customers, angry at the bad treatment.

8:21 I agree with the kid. Even here in America I find some of the best tasting food comes from little shacks that look like they haven't been updated since the 1950s. As long as they practice safe food handling and are sanitary, I don't care. I've been to newly opened restaurants that looked incredibly clean and have had the worst tasting food and have made me sick with food poisoning. That little dude knows what's up. 😊

Dipping Chips in a Frosty is a thing in the U.S. In the 80s, when my son worked at Wendy's, the morning crew would press out burgers in a machine, from none frozen ground beef. The only thing frozen were the chips.

I worked at Wendy's too at that time and every morning they would bring us fresh ground beef & we used that machine to stamp out the square shaped burgers that would go into metal bins for only that day. That is why the burgers taste so fresh & juicy ! By the way the Chili is mostly over cooked hamburgers from that day.

Trivia from someone who has eaten Wendy’s for their whole life: Wendy’s has the freshest burgers, never frozen, unlike most of the big burger chains. It’s why they just melt in your mouth and taste so delicious. They are square because the meat is seasoned and pressed into a large rectangle pan and cut into squares. It’s all done by hand everyday and not by a machine. Needs to be easy and quick for the employees. When Dave died his daughter Wendy named his famous burgers after him. So the burgers were not always called Dave’s Single or Dave’s Double, etc..

The "Always fresh, never frozen" standard for Wendy's is also why you won't find any in northern Canada. It's too hard to get fresh beef up there, so Wendy's refuses to allow any franchises in several areas up north.

Trivia from someone who worked at Wendys [line coordinator] for 5 years in the late 80's, those burgers were never, ever, ever made by us.... they came delivered fresh every day or ever other day, depending how many we used. Never frozen, always fresh. Any patties not sold in alotted fresh time were put in the refrigerator and chopped and boiled for the world famous chili the next day. Never kept more than one day, each batch of chili was made fresh in the morning. Trust me, you could never get kids flipping burgers to cut those so perfectly... never.

@@WARnTEA Depends on the branch but for the most part, its popular enough to rarely have more than 2 cups of chili leftover at the end of the day where I worked. Also while yes it can run out, (most of the time), there was another batch on the way with fresher meat due to extra burgers almost always being on the grill at any given time.

To Brits: Daves slogan about square patties is "we don't cut corners". Wendy's Frosty is a super super thick milkshake. They serve it with a spoon & straw. It's hot here in summer so you probably need a spoon to start & straw to finish. (DQ Blizzard is a whipped fro!en dessert "shake" ... not sure if it has real ice cream in it. )

8:23 We all used to go buy take away from some very shabby shop; the guy worked all by himself with an old cigarette drooping out of his mouth; it was the best food ever. We figured the ciggy ash improved everything. Not one person ever knocked back his food after tasting it, even though the soggy "roll your own" cigarette was always in evidence (it was never alight). Everything else in his kitchen (fully visible from the counter) was spotless. He was an ex-navy cook and incredibly fast.
