I teach using just one of many accents in the world. Please only learn it if you like it and if you are interested in learning it. I do not believe there is one “correct” accent or manner of pronunciation and I fully encourage EFL/ESL learners to expose themselves to as many varieties of English around the world to become accustomed to the beautiful variations of this world language. I focus mostly on teaching “Modern RP” (I may just say “RP” in my older videos, but to clarify, I do specifically mean “Modern RP”), however, you will hear a lovely little Yorkshire twang to my accent from time to time too. Please LOVE and BE PROUD of your accent. After all, it is part of your identity and makes you unique. 💚

Hi, Emma! Loved your video ! 🥰 I am an American, however I have been self analyzing my speech, how I speak, words I am using or not using, AND how I sound. Of course, who doesn’t love the British accent!?! I have always admired it because it simply sounds most proper, elegant (for English), smart and classy. Perhaps, I can make a smooth and slight transition to sounding British 😄- I’m serious!! I hear all the accents here in America and I sometimes cringe 😬 because it sounds just awful. I’m SO GLAD to have come across your channel! Thank you 😊 for all the wonderful tips and thorough lesson! 🥰
I deeply love your class! Thank you very much !!
Dear Emma i swear you are not a native speaker only but a gifted teacher to enlighten the globe through your phonetic musicality and muse .i pray for your long life to keep the language alive by your lively character. I love you so much!
Wow, that's wonderful! I have never seen such a video specifically teaching British pronunciation that is so friendly, relaxed and generous, and quite detailed. You are very generous in teaching. Thank you very much as I am incredibly interested in learning and imitating British accents. Your video is beneficial.

There IS no British accent! There are English, Scottish, Welsh, and Irish accents!. Within those accents, are local dialects: e.g. I was born and raised in Plymouth ... in St Budeaux; which is where the Tamar bridges cross, from Devon into Cornwall ... hence, my accent is English, but my dialect is Devonian; sub-dialect, Plymothian.

There IS no British accent - unless one is referring to RP! There is English, Scottish, Welsh, and Irish (N). Within those accents, are local dialects. So, I was born and raised in St Budeaux (in Plymouth), which is where the road and rail bridges cross the Tamar. Hence, my accent is English; but my dialect is West Country - Devonian, to be precise!
I love your classes, but this one was very special. You joined all de main issues in British English pronunciation in a single video. It was amazing and I am sure a I'll come back here several times to study all of your tips. Thank you so much!
