Leading up to British Watchmaker's Day, we had the privilege of visiting Fears Watches in Bristol. Originally founded in 1846, Fears Watches is one of the oldest British watch brands still in operation.
Nicholas shared about the history of the company, he took us through the various watch collections and talked about their limited edition watch which is only going to be available during the event in London.

After hours of KZread US watch content where people speak like 15 years old with a 500 word vocabulary, listening to this well read gentleman is a real pleasure.

British watches do have an incredible anthropological history. 2 world wars, an empire of trade, mapping and navigation. I dare say that without this history European watch making wouldn’t even have been the same.

This is a great video and I am very excited to learn more about this brand. British watch history is the most important in the world. Swiss watches were just cheap copies of British watches.

I prefer watches to just tell the time with 3 hands (my phone does the rest), don't need any other complication like day, date, chronographs, bezel, 2nd time zone, a moonphase, tachymeter, calendar. Just sounds like alot to go wrong as well as alot of un-needed clutter. Just want it to be about 36 - 41mm, clear legible dial, splash proof (martini-proof) customisable straps (Steel, black-brown leather, nato) and be me proof (can handle a few dinks - hard glass, shock resistant) Want it to look good and have a bit of heritage and history (like a Jaguar Car) with a tried and tested Swiss made automatic movement. Much like my favourite watch of all time, the Rolex Explorer. Fears ticks that box. I very much like the 40mm Brunswick in salmon.

Great looking watches and a lovely story. I must admit that a watch with a price tag of £3750 should not really come with an ETA-2824-2 movement.

I really wanted the gold capped Midas watch they did a couple years ago. Didn’t have the money for it at the time and it’s no longer made.
