If you want to visit my suggestion is like a couple of hours between trains on the way to Gothenburg from Sthlm. To walk around the castle and maybe a Fika in Wadköping and a stroll in Stadsparken and then on to a bigger city like Gbg.

Its my hometown and if you are visiting this summer you are going to be able to see OPEN ART. which is free art everywhere around the city. You must eat at Mocca deli or Fratellis.

Loved the food festival you had in Örebro last weekend. Ate some burgers with crocodile meat in it. Will make sure to visit the festival next year too.

You should also check out Kalmar and Öland 🤓

He is saying "åh titta vilken fin vovve" which translate into "oh look what a nice doggy". That old building in the middle of the water is Örebro slott/Örebro castle.

Other than towns, visiting the countryside in Skåne, Dalarna, perhaps Roslagen, or even Höga kusten would give you a feel for the nature as well.

There are better places to visit. Check out Visby, for example. It's located on the island of Gotland.

In general, cities in Sweden are quite small, which can be boring for tourists but nice for the locals, but there are many cute small towns that might appeal to those interested. Otherwise, Stockholm is, I'd say, the only truly "interesting" city in Sweden. Gothenburg also boasts some nice architecture for a "large" city (though both Gothenburg and Stockholm are actually relatively small compared to international standards, but by Swedish standards, they are considered large).

Norrköping is a nice city to see. Trams run throughout the city, as does a large river with beautiful waterfalls.

Yes, it is a good place, i would suggest riding Mälartåg to here from Stockholm and then continue to Gothenburg by train. You could visit Sörbybacken, cycle around on the bike paths connecting suburbs and parks around the city and try the local transit system. There is a lot to explore and see.

If you want recommendations it would help to know how much time you have planned in Sweden. Cause it takes time to travel between cities. You need a realistic time table. If you're only here for a week you need to settle for a few things. No point in seeing too much in too little time, you will just stress around. If you go to Malmö, the 3rd largest city, you can easily take the train to Copenhagen, Denmark, it takes about 25min. From Malmö it takes about 2,5 to 3 hours to go to Gothenburg, the 2nd largest city. From Gothenburg it can take about 3 to 5 hours to Stockholm depending on if it's the fast train or not. From Gothenburg you can also take the train to Oslo, Norway and it seems it takes about 3,5 to 4 hours. From Malmö it takes about 4,5 hours to Stockholm with the fast train. From Stockholm you can easily take the ferry to Finland. As I live in Scania and closest to Malmö, other towns in the near area are Lund, Helsingborg and Ystad as examples. The whole area of Österlen with "Ales Stenar" (Norse place) and "Glimmingehus" (Medieval house). There's a rebuilt Viking Village close to Malmö called Foteviken Museum. During the summer they have days when there's guides dressed accordingly living the viking village life showing you how it was done during the Late Viking Age - Early Middle Age.

Örebro is a smaller place, but very nice to bike or walk in. Also Bastard Burgers are awasome, about the best burgers. highly recomend, i usually do double meat. My way is just a small convienent/drugstore. there are bikes to rent and there are electric scooters to rent. At around 3:25 you turn into "Drottninggatan" translated into Queensroad. (at the back of where he/she walking, you should be able to spot "Svampen" or "the mushroom" that is a watertower that you can go up in and it has a restaurant with a nice view.Drottninggatan runs straight through the inner city. and kinda ends at Olof Palmes Torg (Square of Olof Palme). but in reality it does run a bit further, just that side of town is inactive as a "inner city", but beyond the graveyard is a skatepark, and if you go about 1km more, you get to Gustavsvik, a place that has Camping in the summer, and a large indoor bathhouse, while in summer also have outdoor bath area. and the camping area has evening entertainment, mini golf and more. Also the cars are only allowed to run in the inner city if it has business there. otherwise there are roads that cars can cross. but it tries to keep cars away for a better city. The highlights of the town is Örebro Slott (Örebro Castle). Svampen (Watertower with a restaurant). Gustavsvik Bathhouse/spa. and in summer Gustavsviks Camping. Stadsträdgården (City garden). and Wadköping (small town located next to stadsträdgården). in the center of the town you have about 3-4 hotels in walking distance, and about 3-5 big clubs, with a decent amount of pubs. so nightlife is really easy to get around. Hästhagen, nice place with frisbee golf, able to rent Canot and other activites. and pritty close to it is a nice forest scenery, and garden. Svartån runs through the town, and you can take a ferry around with it called "Gröna Grodan". and in the summer there is open art all over the town. both cool and weird art, like giant popcorn, duck made out of tires. its the perfect size city, you can get around easy, and alot of options for activites. I live just outside Örebro. It is a very clam city compared to Stockholm. It is a nice city that deserves a visit for sure.

You can check out Uppsala! A city about 10 miles north of Stockholm!

Malmö is the 3rd biggest cities in Sweden (this year’s host of Eurovision) and definitely worth a visit. About 60 km north (along the coast) you’ll find my hometown Helsingborg. A beautiful city built around what’s left of a medieval castle (Kärnan). A really nice city where you also can take the ferry (20min ride) to Helsingör in Denmark.

Malmö is the 3rd biggest tätort (muncipality). The actual "city" or town is very small. Most of it was torn down around the 1960s and replaced with ugly suburban style housing.

The population is 155 000 people

I would say that Örebro is something you do for an afternoon. Take a look at Örebro Castle in the town centre, visit the wooden houses of Wadköping (Örebro's "old town", it's tiny) and have a fika there. If you want to stop mid way between Stockholm and Gothenburg I would suggest the beautiful...village? of Gränna (outside of Jönköping town) and have their famous Polkagris, and visit Jönköping, a little walk around and have dinner by the water, around the pier. (which is not like a UK pier). But only if you come here in the summer, and only for like a day.

Örebro is a good town to get around on a bike in. And you can gbring a bike on some of the comuting trains that goes to Stockhom. You can get to more towns and smaller wilages by the same trains as well. So if you want to visit Sweden and like to ride a bike there are a lot of places you can see that you would not be able to walk to. If you'd like to I guess I chuold make a video of how I bring my bike from Dalarna to Stockholm when I visit my friends there.

Im from Stockholm but I moved to Örebro in 2014 for studies. Moved again and then back in 2017. I love this city, many cultures smashed together in a alive city. Always happenings going on here. Events...food stuff, music or art. The building in the water you saw was our castle here. You can go inside to check out some history ofc. Örebro is the largest city with all schools for the deaf in Sweden, from primary school to university. It is a very quiet town, reasonably large and beautiful with old buildings and the Castle. A nice city to visit.

"Örebro" is part of what we Swedes call "gnällbältet" (The Belt of whining), together with a few more cities/counties. It is called this because of the local dialects sound whiny, at least to people who speak standard-Swedish. "Örebro" can be directly translated to mean "Penny Bridge", although I'm not sure of the historical context of the name. Regarding the Swedish flag, Swedes like to fly it particularly during the summer. It is therefore quite common to see it outside smaller shops and the like, during summer. You will also often see the flag outside of official buildings, and on peoples houses, or on flag-poles in private yards. Swedes are secretly quite patriotic, although this is seen as a bit controversial by SOME overly-political people (not the majority). During winter it is much less common to see the the flag outside, perhaps because of the rules surrounding the Swedish flag. It needs to be hauled down at night and needs to be cared for and shown respect as a national symbol, so I'm guessing it is too much of a hassle to keep it out when it is -20C outside, and the sun sets at 3 pm :)

Bastard burgers is a chain throughout Sweden. Don't waste your time on Örebro, only do it if you are passing by car. That's my 2 cents.

Have you totality missed out on Malmö? The capital in the south with more exotic restaurants and cultures than any other Swedish city? The coolest city in Sweden in the most densely populated region where it's no more than an hour to wherever you want to go coast to coast. and as a bonus, 20 minutes by train over a bridge and you are right in the center of Copenhagen!

Hi! If you like canals within the city, you should definitely visit Malmö. Except for the canal, which basically runs through the whole city, there are so many nice things you can go see and do. A city full of culture, art, music, restaurants, parks etc. People are very friendly and social (for being Swedes). After watching a lot of your Sweden-videos, I feel like you would really like it in Malmö! Very easy to take a flight to Copenhagen airport and travel about 25 mins by train to get to Malmö. Welcome! ☀️

I know you love music. In Halmstad you have the origin of Roxett. You can stay at Per Gessles Hotell in Tylösand and look at his fantastic Ferrari cars. Halmstad is over 700 years old and has many historical monuments as well. Like the Danish-Swedish war that was fought just south of the center. If you want, I can make a film about what it looks like in central Halmstad. In the summer, we probably have Sweden's best beach life. Lots of people and world-class entertainment.

The closest larger city, to where I live, is Örebro. There is a part of Örebro that is called Wadköping, that I recommend a visit to. Örebro also have castle in the middle of the city.

Many Swedish cities have a castles in their middle, but few if any have a Castle that look as much as the classic Castle as Örebro Castel do.

I would say that Swedish and British people are failry similar when it comes to their nationalistic pride, generally you won't brag about your country, small talk will eventually end up with people talking about how the politicians are making things worse etc, but if any outsiders start talking smack you'll have some angry/annoyed/defensive Swedes on your hands.

The only time you see a Swedish flag in a bigger city, is if it is on a shop selling things to visitors, or on hotels. Some times they are on busses, if it is a holiday. In Sweden most people do not show the flag, as it would label you a nationalist, a rasist. One core value of a Swede, is the fact that we are not better then anyone and should respect everyone! I know a am great and come from the great country of Sweden, i just do not see a point to telling every one ells that.

the swedish flag had a lot of negative connotation as well which is mostly due to the neo-nazis used the flag during the 80s to early 00s, but i dont think it's as sensitive today as it was back in the early 2000s though

Do your self a favour and visit our bigger citys first.. those tourist oriented ones! Its this Copenhagen is the airport hub for scandinavia.. cheapest airline tickets frome the rest of the world! One can stay in Denmark/Copenhagen.. or take the train over Öresund strait to Malmö! Malmö is part of "Bigger Copenhagen" for visitors! Up a bit from Malmö is Gothenburg, "Little London" our second biggest city, its the biggest port in scandinavia, and those english speking entreprenours was actualy mostly scottsmen.. but they did speak english.. and there was a lot of english brick bouldings befor! Stockholm is our capitol city and the biggest in sweden.. its even more tourist friendly/or more tourist traps, how one like to call it! But I like to be a tourist in Stockholm, visiting The royal castell, watch changing of the guards, take a "fika" in the royal court yard", or take a glass of wine at "kungsträdgården" when the royal guard goes to the royal castel! One must visit Vasa museum, and take the ferry out there to "Gröna lund" or just stroll around, to ABBA museum, or Skansen "swedish heretige museum"!
