“Obsessed with the individual” wow she’s so on the nose about our culture. Collaboration is the way 🙌🏼

Agree. No single action happens in a vacuum. Everything we do is under constant influence from others, and at the same time, everything we do have consequences for others way beyond what we can imagine. It all flows back and forth in this massive collective field constantly regardless of whether we're aware of it or not. It doesn't take away personal responsibility. On the contrary it enhances it massively.

It doesn't only speak to the current / modern culture as that narrative of the lone genius has been around since time immemorial. A good example is any one of several well known classical music composers. I guarantee you the invention of the wheel wasn't just a single person! As per my comment upthread, there are a myriad of books and recently podcast devoted to exploring and debunking said myth and i don't doubt Ms Marling has read / listened to those because again, she's no lone thinker.

Laura Jemae Ramirez I think a lot of people know what she’s talking about but she’s one of the few people willing to actually say it out loud.

@@BabyBearRudy well, here is hoping it doesn't remain a whisper like it has for the past several decades despite research to prove otherwise. We need a cultural shift but i am not certain people are willing to give up the lone genius mythology in this centric society.
I would go see her speak as a life coach type speaker. I love her perspective on life.

Its rare to find moments in life, where you are focused solely in the moments, where you forget about everything.
She’s so captivating and genuine.
REALLY NICE CAMERA WORK! Like a good frame on a painting (it ISN'T noticeable, it just does it's job): Perfection. The simplicity of the set, the lack of visual noise and the filming in black and white; genius. The focus is on the guest. Sam Jones, Oh! WONDERFUL! I LOVE that you don't have prompt cards (although I have seen excellent interviewers with them) ... that you bring your familiarity with the guest, your curiosity, and your affection for people to each sit-down. I love how focused these interviews are. THIS WORKS!! Thank you!!! You have created a gem.
Brit Marling is a human whom I think would understand my problems better than my family or friends.
She is sooo god damn beautiful. JFC.
Brilliant speaker, fantastic actor, mind blowning creator. Brit Marling the best ♥️
I just found your channel today..I love your format.. It's so simple and elegant. The focus is rightly on the guests.. Keep up the great work..😊

Eli L. Hnamte this is from a TV show. Older episodes are on Netflix
I am new to you, but I appreciate the engaging questions and dialogue with Brit, so unlike most interviews, in the best way possible!
Thanks for collaboration. ..the oa is about human connection to me.
I love these videos so much! Thank you to all involved with them.
1st time on this channel. I started watching The OA a week ago and was looking for more information. Thanks for this, Brit is amazing.
a sparkling intelligence and personality
Love Sam and Brit. Finally, somebody who can tell a compelling story about the possibilities, rather than a show like Law and Order, that would have made her out to be a nutcase!
Very inspiring. Thanks man.
FREAKING PREACHING IT, Brit!!!!!!!!!
the OA season two is magnificent. We need more clever + creative people like her in the film industry! Season 2 really cheered me up after struggling through every episode of season 8 GOT and mentally rewriting the dialogue in every scene.
So much wisdooooom
She is indeed an angel
She’s the OA irl too
You're my hero Brit!
an angel!

Good art, story, and production take time to create and manifest. It is worth the wait.
Ther are several publications which speak to the myth that is the 'lone genius' and to include podcasts like One Plus One which focuses on several "power ot two" partnerships that range from the obvious and typically most discussed of Lennon and McCartney to Kobe and Shaq to Madame Curie and her husband and more. All great things are because of collaboration.
Что дальше произошло с ОА. Ну расскажи😀
Collaboration hinges completely on trust. So does love. Trust is frequently stressed and tested and rejected as too much trouble. It's a conundrum.
Why isnt she doing mainstream interviews?

I love it when creative people don't hold back, and aren't preoccupied with playing it safe. I have seen like, 30 comic book movies but i'v never seen anything quite like The OA. A part of me understands that The OA is nonsense, but its just so damn fun!!!
