The Digitakt has real powerfull oscillators so to be able to play them polyphonically with aftertouch and modhweel is awesome. And multi channel LFO's!

This is great, very promising for open mined TR-8S/6S users. Like a vastly improved version of TR8Skreamer. My only worry is that by using sysex instead of midi cc on the TR-8S, the playing wont be captured by the internal sequencer.

@@allgonewrongful it works on both ipad and iphone, it's on the appstore. It works with midi over usb (irig2, connection kit) also bluetooth but midiclock over bluetooth is not really stable :)

Looks hella over complicated to make a mono synth/sample poly. Why would you bother?

Have to agree, seemed to spend so long working out how they forgot to ask why. I have a TR-8S and haven’t spent a single second scratching my chin over how to make it play chords, much like never trying to make toast with my fridge freezer.

Well…imagine you don’t have a lot of gear aside from a TR-8S or 6S. You install a little app on your phone and it turns your drum machine into a knobby 11-voice polyphonic hardware FM synth or sampler. Plus you can still use some of the voices for the usual drums. Basically turns the TR-8S into a groovebox.

As @coolo73 points out this was indeed an idea from the TR8-S community to be able to extend the awesome machine to be able to play it pitch perfect and even polyphonic. Same goes for the grouped parameters. Of course if this is not in your workflow or desire just put it in the freezer :D

Tons of Digitakt users would lap this up. Single cycle waveform synthesis can go deep on the Digitakt, But poly playback is a pain. And ppl pay 50 quid for a rk-002 midi cable that offers this functionality. Some people would bother because they want their gear to do more. Plus it adds macros, blinding.I think this is much better than just another synth personally, but each their own.
