QuickSilverKitsune what a shame it wasn’t expanded upon though. Makoto has the least personal connection to her opposing Palace ruler and it kinda weakens the effect of taking Kaneshiro down, especially since we don’t get a huge breakdown from him. Makoto’s badass awakening and theme of justice would have been even stronger if there was an element of personal justice for her father’s death (someone who died trying to enforce justice on Kaneshiro) while also offering her closure. It would also make Kaneshiro more threatening as while Madarame and Kamoshida were terrible, they weren’t willing to directly murder and the dangers of messing with the yakuza (as well as how quickly the phantom thief thing was escalating) would be furthered by having an enemy who had directly taken the life of one of the main cast’s parents rather than just blackmail. It would also serve as a nice bridge between Madarame’s single opportunistic murder by inaction and the ruthless willingness of the Conspiracy to kill anyone in their way. It would also lead well into Futaba’s mother being killed by a larger organization. And it would fix the problem of having Akechi, someone we are supposed to sympathize with on some level, be the only one ever portrayed as directly responsible for committing murder. While ordered by Shido and thus Shido is treated as responsible, we’re never really shown the other corrupt adults directly taking a life and it sorta make Akechi the face of the evil actions of The Conspiracy. Kaneshiro being shown as capable of and willing to eliminate people would help show that the Conspiracy is rotten and perfectly willing to murder with or without Akechi acting as their tool and help more equally disperse the responsibility. And imagine a cutscene in which Kaneshiro admits to Sae who is interrogating him, that he put the hit on her father. Potentially furthering Sae’s frustration and distortion once the Conspiracy blocks further investigation, while also hinting at the larger picture earlier.

I want this mod though. I know they wanted to keep the story the same as Vanilla, but i could see them letting Akechi survive if you actually raised his confidant, and properly joining the PT for the last two dungeons and not just the third semester. Same with Yoshizawa. If you maxed out her rank, when you see her after the previous palace and she comes talk to you about repaying her debt, that would have been the perfect time to let her join. I just want more time with the new characters, not just one dungeon.

This actually makes me wish that Akechi was in this fight. Him being the one to release the life boat before it exploding to have him die would've been much more fitting story wise.

In my first playthrough, I was expecting Akechi to come out in Shido's second form and joining for the Mementos dungeon and Yaldaboath fight

God, seeing this, does anyone wish there was, like, some kind of boss rush in P5R Like imagine that it’s a Velvet Room Challenge that starts at around 60 (the level you’re supposed to be when you fight Shido), continuing with 80 (the level you’re supposed to be when you fight Maruki) and ending with ???/90 (the level you’re supposed to be when you fight the bonus bosses) You can bring *any* ally that’s on you at the moment into the boss rush and they’ll all have varying introductory lines depending on who you’re fighting (e.g all Shujin students will comment on Kamoshida and *everyone* (except Sumi and Casino arc Akechi) will comment on Shido) After each battle will be a rest room where you can talk to your teammates (who will have varying opinions on the boss you fought) and you can talk to Lavenza to either A) Continue, B) Check the next boss, C) Access the Velvet Room, D) Restore everyone’s HP/SP (optional for challenge runs), or E) Quit The order goes by the story, so: Kamoshida > Madarame > Kaneshiro > Wakaba > Okumura > Sae > Beast of Human Sacrifice > Shido > The Holy Grail > Yaldabaoth > Maruki (w/ Azathoth) > Jose > The Twins > Lavenza Lvl 60 ends at Shido, Lvl 80 ends at Maruki, and Lvl ??? ends at Lavenza Thoughts?

Unfortunately I agree, the overall plot was really rough with the exception of the very beginning. I though that after all this time they would've given the other palaces much better build ups and fix the pacing just a bit. They didn't have to drastically change any story elements but they could've written new events to make us enjoy the characters more. Seriously my biggest expectation was the bone dry "events" like the school festival and beach trip where it literally felt like a waste of time. The new mechanics and QoE changes are nice and all, but I think it just became a bit too easy, easier than golden sometimes imo.

Mr Salty even then why would it trigger here that isn't normal dialogue after all some condition has to be meet. Both the final palace encounter and this palace encounter make sense.

VeraZero After looking through the wiki that piece of dialogue isn't even listed to me it's clear the akechi was meant to be in the shido encounter but didn't in the end maybe his showtime would be show cased during the encounter that would make the most sense to me.
