The people need to know the loaders are carrying bins that weight all day, leaving one behind benefits the worker if it’s even just decently too heavy. The girl hasn’t been jumping and running and lifting all day so it’s kinda obvious on why it would be easier for her, but she didn’t make it look easy she struggled quite a bit from the looks of it. Also heavy bins like that just tire the workers out for the rest of their day. You gotta think… these guys are carrying thousands of bins a day so why don’t I lower the weight on the bin and divide the weight into a few bags so it’s easier. I’m a garbage loader, personally I’ve never left a bin behind but the workers weren’t wrong for doing what they did, it’s just company policy. Not every worker is the “hulk” so if your going to have a bin that heavy every time you should go f*ck yourself. Around where I live if the bin is causing you to struggle, then we use a machine to pick it up, but if it’s a bin that can’t be used with the machine it’s company policy to leave it, unless your confident in your ability to lift. Though our stamina will decrease a lot if we do decide to pick it up, and since we are on a tight schedule we can’t be slowing down anytime during the day.

To be honest, it goes both ways. Customers can big ignorant too. Have you ever lifted 35 gallons of dirty diapers and kitty litter? Then did that 40 times a day? There could be blame on both ends

Those guys should be fired right on the spot no need to investigate.

No one is held accountable anymore, especially city workers, pretty soon we're going to have to "pay off" these type of guys if you want the job done right..

Sounds like a very ideal way to lower the cost of services to taxpayers? Every Tuesday Garbage trucks drive through neighborhoods, and the citizens place their trash into the vehicle. Why pay 3 workers, when only 1 engages in labor?

@John Bryer The baby was being held by a...wait for it...woman. A man holding a baby doesn't make it right either. Do you think it was right to put a baby on the ground when the workers are right there not doing their job? Also the woman could be recovering from a c section. You cannot lift anything heavier than your baby for 8 weeks after delivery.

This is very true oh, I stayed nearby and those trash guys look very familiar because they look like the same guys to pick up my trash, LOL! And they come on the same day. And they definitely do not do their jobs well. There has been numerous times that they have literally left shopping bags with small amounts of garbage just laying on the sidewalk or by the curb. These are shity garbage men

I saw this at my neighborhood and the guy skipped a can because it was too full but that was because it was packed full of construction waste and even then he tried to pick it up 3 times so they don’t have an excuse

I'm SO GLAD we have the automatic trucks that don't need these extra moochers.

Heard of this in my area. The trash guys were to say the least bad people. The people he chose not to pickup from just started to throw the trash out on the way right behind them as they went by. As time went on more of them started doing it until a small revolt started and the guys were either fired to relocated

That job is no joke. Walking behind a truck mile after mile in the heat picking up hundreds of bags of trash. I got bait and switched on a job I took once and ended up on a trash truck for 3 weeks before I quit. It was brutal.

Thats not an excuse, you should be upset the city is still using this stupid primitive method for trash collection. I live in a poor town of 400 and we have trucks with robotic arms that lift trash cans while 1 driver sits in a/c in his truck. Less salaries /less tax. At the end of the day trash needs to be collected if it isnt people will do stupid sht like burying it or dumping it and all that can lead to disease.
